GENERAL RULES

1. Manners. Be polite. Your characters can hate each other all they want but be nice to the other players. Be respectful. Use please and thank you’s. Also - don’t tattletale. We’re not going to be as willing to help if you do. However, if there is a problem or you have a question, please contact an admin. Don’t try and tackle a situation that might end up getting you in trouble. In short, if there’s a problem, come to us first, but don’t go running to tell the other person that you did. It’s just annoying.s

2. No one-liners. We’re not asking for novel-sized posts, but a paragraph would be nice. That’s 4-5 sentences. We know some people like to write books for posts and hey, we’re all for it, but don’t expect the same in return. We only ask for a paragraph.

3. Don’t god-mod (that’s controlling another person’s character). Example - “Julie punched Claire in the face and sent her flying.” No good. “Julie made a fist and threw it at Claire, hoping to send her onto her ass.” Better.

4. This is not a brothel, but it is rated M for mature. Sex is definitely okay but watch how descriptive it is. Try and keep it classy. We’ll let you know if you’re getting a little too crude. We’re not prudes (god knows) but we don’t like to see offensive language. And please put a warning on the thread. If you weren’t expecting it and it comes up, add a warning in the next post in red or bold letters or something.

5. Swearing is fine, but only if it’s something your character would do. Using fuck every other word probably isn’t necessary.

6. Things like pregnancy, deaths, and OC magic users should be run by an admin before it happens. Also, a character cannot kill another character without permission from both the player of said soon-to-be-dead character and the admins. We’re not here to control relationships, but a pregnancy for the hell of it isn’t cool. Just make sure it’s valid and goes with the plot.

7. Relationships with other characters must be okayed with the player. Julie can’t be John’s wife unless John’s player says it’s cool.

8. Have fun. Be creative.

9. Please register as your characters full name and in the following format. Unless of course you character was never given a last name

MERFOLK RULES

` Not all mermaids/mermans are royalty. In fact other than the listed canons, the admin team will randomly promote characters to a new level as we see fit. If you join as a original character, just assume that you're a commoner.

` On the same note, not every mercreature in the seven seas will have a power. They're a very rare gift, bestowed on very few by the Sea Goddess herself. The admin team again will randomly give out gifts and the intended recipients will be PMed long before hand.

` No mercreature can willingly divulge information about themselves or Atlantica or the other kingdoms and not expect dire consequences. I'm not saying they'll turn into sea foam, but it won't be pleasant.

` The coming of age for mercreatures is different between the sexes. Mermaids come of age at SEVENTEEN, while mermen come of age at EIGHTEEN. If an underage mercreature ends up on land they loose their tail and all powers (in other words they're rendered human) until they would naturally come of age.

` The reversal process take approximately 5 days and it varies from creature to creature. It however is very painful.
