Eclipse's first thought was to fight. His back arched, his claws extended and his tail was lashing. Before he finished baring his fangs and snarling, he realized how tired he was, and just how easily these Clan cats- wild as they were- could defeat and kill him. He relaxed and knew he had no chance of running now.

Nothing to do but face them and see if he could talk his way into staying alive. He was not going to beg. He would never beg, for anything. He sat down and tried to look like he was calm and collected, like any smart sensible cat should be and that he'd meant to get spotted. He felt a chill as he realized he must look strongly like his father at the moment. Thank the higher powers he'd forgone his fanged-collar and tooth-sheathes for his claws long ago. Word had it the primitive Clan cats didn't ask questions when they saw a fanged-collar. He kept up his calm facade even as a large she-cat, obviously the Leader, stalked into the clearing with a furious, small cat at her side.

Inside, he was kicking himself for being such an idiot.

Dragonstar approached silently. Before her a small cat was standing, his black pelt making him stand out like a sore claw.

"What are you doing here?" She snarled. Why is it that he looked so familiar? She had never seen such a cat in her life, with eyes as cold as winter, and a pelt as dark as night.
He reminded her of a story that her mother, Hollypelt, used to tell her, of when her great grandfather had fought Scourge. This cat seemed to fit the description, except that Scourge had died years ago, killed by Firestar himself.

Lifting her head high, she looked down upon the cat. if she was right, then...

"You wouldn't happen to have heard of BloodClan, would you?" She said, her voice soft. With her tail she commanded her warriors to stand back.

Eclipse's back stiffened as the leader asked him her question. BloodClan! Of all things, why couldn't she have asked him about any other Clan?

He swallowed, eyeing the lean, muscled cats around him before replying in a voice he felt wasn't aggressive, but certainly not meek, " Yes, I do know of them. But they are long ago disbanded by the... Forest Cats and now we rouges and loners and runaway kittypets are known only as families and groups. There is no more Clan and I like it that way."

The cats seemed nervous at the thought of having no Clan, and Eclipse wondered how they would squirm if he told them he liked being alone. He wondered if these cats could comprehend the thought of enjoying lonliness. They must think it something terrible indeed, when they only knew living in and for their familes and friends and home.

"Please, I am alone and starving. I meant no threat to your Clan or your cats. I will leave your territory now if that is your order. Me word is good, but if you do not trust me, your..." he didn't know what they called their agressive barbarians they used as soldiers, "your fighters can guide me out if that makes you feel safer. I am not a fool to try and steal from a strong Clan when I am only one."

He tried to bow his head, but found his pride in the way so he gave a weak bob to try and show the humbleness that made him want to retch. Eclipse, humble? It was to laugh. Save that this was no laughing matter.

He watched the large She-Cat with his narrowed icy eyes.

Kudelpadoff calmed down with a boring expression on his face. This was certenly not a fighter he thought, and this didn't seem to turn out to a fight. He crossed his arms and tried to look menecing allthough he was quite bad at that. He had allways been considerd cute, something that botherd him heavily.

He started rethinking the reasent events and came to a stop in his brain as he recalled the stranger-cat as he had said, "There is no more clan, and i like it that way" His eyes narrowed when he thought about the meaning behind those words. No clan. This cat liked life without a clan. There was obviously something wrong with him. A life with no clan? No family? Nowhere to belong? What kind of life is that?! He had a hard time imagening his own life without a clan. His youth and clumsyness of mind took an expression as he looked with a confused stare at the cat and stated, "No clan? You're weird..."

Dragonstar looked intently at the young cat before her. He reminded her intensly of the stories of how her great-grnadfather, Firestar, had been a kittypet before becomming accepted into the clan.

As she starred at the cat, still unamed to her, She waved her tail, signaling to her warriors to stand down.

"What is your name, stranger?" She asked, her head high and commanding.

Eclipse stiffened, and he tried to keep his glare from looking too aggressice that the barbarians around him wouldn't attack him. Would they have heard of his success out here in the forests? How he was the prized son of Scourge, a prince, now fallen to a peasent-cat? Then again, they had not even known of BloodClan until Scourge had been brought in by the forest cats themselves. Maybe it did not matter if he used his real name or not- and he was so hungry. If they did kill him, it would be a blessing.

"My name is Eclipse," he tried to say it proud and strongly, but he felt shame at the thought that other cats in post-BloodClan would scoff at his name. But Eclipse still had his pride, he always did.

He stiffened further as he waited for the laughter, or the claws to rake through his fur. There wasn't even a hiss.

"Not even a real name!" one of the barbarians laughed. An amused chuckle ran through the cats around him.

"It is a name- as it is mine," Eclipse snapped. He realized his mistake when the cats all focused angry glares on him. Suddenly the image he had in his mind- of being torn to pieces and eaten by these animals- seemed far more realistic.

Curse me and my big mouth he thought.

Kudelpadoff was going to ake a eamn comment of the strangercats name, but just in time he recalled the fact that his own was not especially much to brag about and he closed his mouth with a gesture suggesting that that was in fact exactly what he intended to do. He starightend up his back to full legnth, an action that was hardly worth the effort, and continued to stare vat the cat. If he was not to show of his, according to him, awesome fighting skills, then he could at least get a chance to shout a bit, making his specially great leadership-skills known to the rest.
He took a deap breath.

"And what the... Nnggng... Are you doing in our territory? Huh?! You have some nerves just sneaking in here you bloody... Filthy... Yeah! And... And you know... I will... Yeah, you better watch out." He heard some faint laughter behind him, obviously thinking his heroic speech was something amusing. He turned around and looked very angry.

"Who laughed?" He demanded to know. A great big orange cat with grey stripes came up to him and gave him an easy push so that he fell over. They continued laughing. Kudel tried not to look hurt. He failed, and instead he turned around towards that stranger-cat called Eclipse.

The laughter died out.

Now it was time to see what to do about the spy, as Kudel figured he must be. He looked at Dragonstar.

Dragonstar felt very much like silencing Kudel with her paw, but one of her warriors beat her to it.

Looking back at the intruder, Dragonstar eyed him carefully. He reminded her of her great grandfather, Firestar, who had been a kittypet before having been recruted by Bluestar.

Making a split second decision, she stood up, signaling to her warriors to do so as well.

"You have a choice now, Eclipse. If you want, you can join the life of a clan cat, and join ThunderClan. Or you can be chased out of the territory. We are very short on apprentices, and you look to be the right age."

Turning around, she frooze as the prophecy that the medicine cat, Jayeyes, had whispered to her.

The one with the name of hiding sun, the one with the past he wants undone, shall beat back Shadow, that almighty beast.

A shiver ran through Drangonstar's spine as she continued walking, hoping that th small apprentice was behind her, as well as the intruder himself.
