Blinking her eyes open, Fyre stretched her small body, opening her small jaws in a huge yawn.

Getting up, she stretched her back legs, digging her front claws into the moist earth to keep her balance.

opening her sleepy eyes, Fyre walked up to the edge of a nearby tree, looking at the grass hungrily.
Before her maws could grasp the thin, juicy blades, strong jaws graped the scruff of her neck, and she was hauled towards the forest.
"Mother!" She cried, before hitting her head on the side of a rock, and then, everything went blakc.

Manarion opened his eyes in terror. He turned his head towards the sound just in time to see Fyre being dragged into the forest. He saw her little head knock into a tree, and he saw her smack it hard enough to render unconscious. He entered a state of chock, and found himself sitting on the ground, unable to move. He tried to shout, to scream. But it was useless.

"How dumb can you be?" he screamed within his head to his own self, "how could i fall asleep!? How could i be so stupid! And now I'm just sitting here, unable to move! To help!" Tears weld up in his eyes, and finally, it was as if a spell was broken.

"Fyre!" He screamed louder then he had ever done before. His lungs felt like they were exploding, and he ran as hard and as fast as he could, still screaming. He kept on screaming till his lungs could not take it anymore, and he lost his voice. Not only that, but he had lost the track of the kidnapper to, and suddenly, he remembered something.

"Rain! Dragon!" He shouted, or, as he had almost no voice left, whispered, hoping they were still ok. Preying, they were still alive.

He could not believe himself, letting them down like this. Not after what they just went through.

Waking up in a start, Dragon quickly started running after the kidnapper.
"Rain, stay with Manarion! I'm going to find your sister!"

Running faster than she ever had, Dragon leapt over rocks, fallen logs, branches, to get to the intruder, who was still in sight.

Pushing with her strong and long legs, she took a shortcut and jumped onto the wolf's back. He was the one who had escaped before.
With a swift bite to the neck, the beast fell to the floor, dead.
Giving the corpse another bite for good measure, the worried mother picked up her daughter by the scruff of her neck and walked back to where Rain and Manarion were.

Manarion stood as frozen to the ground, his eyes moving from rock till tree, as he heard branches breaking and leaves being hurled up in the air. He barely noticed Rain walking up beside him. All of a sudden there was silence.

Then. A growl.

Then. A "Yip!".

Silence.

Manarion shook of impatience and terror. Silence was the only sound there was for what seemed like several hours.

A noise.

Manarion bend his head, ready for the worst. And then, Dragon emerged from within the shadows of the trees, and Manarion gave up a long sigh of relief as he saw the familiar beings.
"Oh, thank God you're alive. Are you alright Fyre? Are you hurt?" He gave the pup a concerned look.

Setting the pup gently to the ground, Dragon shielded her with her body, licking her wounds clean. A small bump on the head, curtesy of the rock, was bleeding slightly. But it was the long cut on Fyre's leg that worried Dragon the most.

Turning to Rain, Dragon barked, "Go get some cobwebs. We need to stop this bleeding now, before she loses too much blood."

With a nod, the pup sped off, desperate to find some cobwebs.

It was not long before he found some, and, sprinting back, he quickly handed the silver wad to his mother, who pressed it down into Fyre's wound. It was not long before the bleeding stopped, or at least slowed down prefusely, the crimson liquid drying in spikes on the fur.

"Is there anything I can do?" Asked Manarion. The bleeding from Fyres leg was surely stopped for a while by the cobwebs, but was she out of harms way? Hard to say. Manarion Gave out a sigh, and continued:

"Ok, we'll have to leave now! They will probably come back, as soon as they notice that their pack-member did not return, and we don't know how far away these beasts are." He turned his eyes to Dragon, "I'm to small to help with Fyre, who should not walk in her condition, But I can help lifting her upon your back, so can leave as fast as possible, ok?"

He looked at the forest around him and came to the conclusion, he did not know anything about this place.

He looked at Dragon again.

"Uhm, so... Which way?"

Trying to orient herself in the dark forest, Dragon squinted, trying to figure where they were.
Recognization suddenly flared in her eyes as she remembered this part of the forest.

Turning towards Manarion, Dragon pointed to the North with her muzzle.
"We should go that way. Not too far away, there's afresh spring with healing herbs. Only a few select wolves know that area, so we should be safe."

Looking down sadly at her daughter, Dragon bent down gently, awaiting Manarion's help to get her on Dragon's back.

Manarion nodded and started to push and lift, as gently as he could, Fyre up on Dragons back. Now as a fact, Manarion was a fully-grown fox, with average strength, and Fyre was a not fully-grown wolf, but, as nature had so unfortunately decided to act, this still meant that despite the age-difference, Manarion had quite a hard time managing getting Fyre up on Dragons back. But after a few tries, and a lot of sweat later, he finally managed.

"Uhf... So..." He huffed, "Let's... huff... Get a.... huff... move on then... huff... shall we?" He started dragging himself towards the direction Dragon had pointed out, his long black head-fur hanging in wet stripes down his face.

As Dragon led the way to the spring, Fyre safely on her back and Rain trotting at her side, her mind wandered.
Why were these new mounitain wolves here? What did they want?
Her blue eyes closed in frustration, Dragon didn't nitice the shadow following them until a wolf erupted from the trees, it's dark brown muzzle drawn over it's teeth in a ferocious snarl.

Shocked, Dragon didn't have time to react before Rain jumped on the intruder, licking his face.
"Uncle Dusk!" HE cried out in joy, as Dragon started incredulessly into the eyes of her older brother.

Manarion felt like he should say something, but didn't find no words. As everything was chilling down, and they were, finally, on their way to a safe place, Manarions mind wandered of to the feelings he had been having for Dragon. He tried to push them of, thinking it was only due to the fact that she'd been so kind to him, letting him in like this. He couldn't though, and instead, he decided to let them flow through him, shaking every nerve in his body until they decided it was not worth the trouble, and set their course for some more comofortable place in the subconsious parts of Manarions brain. Instead, he was overthrown with feelings of guilt. He had let his guardians down, falling asleep on his watch. He had caused the wound on Fyres leg. It was all his fault, and he could never forgive himself for that.

He took a deep breath.

"I've-" He started, but didn't get any further before a wolf popped out of a bush in front of him.
'not again!' He thought, rushing the wolf, aiming his teeth for the throat.
'I will not let you down again' Somewhere, far, far of in his mind, he heard Rains voice, shouting. He saw a small body throw itself towards the stranger wolf.

"No!" He shouted, as he changed his path in flight. He reached his paw to push Rain out of the way, his side still on its way towards the wolf in front of him.

Slowmotion...

'Uncle?'

Bam!

Hardly noticing Manarion dive for Rain, Dragon jumped on Dusk, licking her brother's face.

"Dusk, I was sure that you were dead!" She cried out, her eyes shining with tears.
His dark orange eyes softened, he nuzzled Dragon's neck.

"I'm not that easy to kill, sis," Noticing Rain, Dusk gently hit him with a paw, sending him towards the ground to land in a nearby pile of leaves.
"That'll teach you to jump towards an unknown wolf!" He declared.

As his eyes returned to wards Dragon, he then noticed the lump of red fur upon her back.

"What happened?" He asked as he gently lifted her to place on the ground.
"She was attacked." Dragon answered, her head hung low.

Narrowing his eyes, Dusk seemed to finally notice the little fox. Growling, he was about to pounce on the puny thing when Dragon suddenly blocked his way.

"He's with us," She declared, a silent warning telling Dusk to not harm the thing.

Backing off, Dusk glanced at his sister again, his liveliness returned.
"There's a pack of warrior wolves around that ridge, they're under my command. We came here to see how many survivors there were, and to see if we could diminish the deamon wolves' army."

Turning, he headed towards the trees.
"Are you coming?"
