:thankyou: casa!

Is it my imagination, or does it sound to you like Evan has a cold? He sounds a little stuffed up to me.

He sounded fine to me but then I'm no expert. He says he feels good so I don't think he has a cold. But then he's skated through worse stuff like in Torino so if he does have a cold I'm not going to worry about it. Again Mary, have a save trip. When are you leaving? Have fun. Will be thinking of you.

Thank you Casa! <3 it, what a great footwork, Evan is on fire!

Mary, it also sounds to me that he got a cold, poor baby, hope he'll be OK (cross my fingers! Where's Ellen? :-D ).

But like Dawn said, the boy is a fighter, he experienced probably the worst stuffs in Torino, the illness, the IVs, the fall, far behind after the SP... and he not only survived, but also came back strongly and blew everybody away in FS.

So I believe that now NOTHING's GONNA STOP HIM! He's a much stronger, smarter and better skater than 2006, he'll ROCK Vancouver this time! :1st:

Have a safe trip Mary, hope you'll witness the Golden Moment of our boy in the first place! I believe in him! :cheer:

Right on ladies! I wasn't worried about it, just noticing - also that he's so bundled up when the temps in Vancouver are in the 40-50s. Also glad to read he's being smart about his quad choice - a smarter, better athlete is right!!

I feel like I'm in a trance - hardly believing I'll actually be there. Maybe it will take seeing the rings that will make it real.

I leave Tuesday - arriving barely in time for the SP so am glad to learn, via Megi and her knowledge of the start order procedure, that Evan will most likely be in the 5th or 6th group for the SP. That should give us a little breathing room. Kiwi says it's VERY CROWDED. I don't doubt it!!

In regards to the cold, I'm a ballet dancer and actually don't mind having a cold while I dance. While a cold would impede stamina, a cold actually forces you to breathe in and engage your center prior to a turn or a jump, so I don't think it will negatively impact Evan's performances.

Didn't know that. Thanks!

His stamina is a vital factor as he typically grows STRONGER throughout and toward the end of the program. That said, really, I'm not worried about Evan's ability to perform anyway - he's done it before. I'm just sorry that he has to deal with this now

Yes, and the thing is that Evan entered his free skates at both the 2006 Olympics and the 2006 Worlds with very bad illnesses, yet he still pulled off two quality skates. Considering that he was able to show that toughness early on in his career, a cold isn't going to stop him now.

If you scroll down the page a bit, there's a link to a video of just his segment.

Lol, Evan always has colds at these big events, who knows maybe a cold is his good luck charm. I know a couple weeks ago when I watched him on good day LA or whatever, he sounded like he was losing his voice. Figure skaters probably catch colds frequently due to their environment.

2006 Worlds? Remind me, what was wrong with him there? Or was it the same thing he had at Olympics?
