With this being the Olympic season I think it would be a good idea to start planning a project now.

With the Olympics coming so soon after US Nationals, seems to be it would be best to combine the two into one project.


This idea just popped into my mind. I'm proposing to make a DVD of our favorite memories of Evan since the last Olympics or anytime in his career for that matter.

1) Could be a performance video- Maybe we could each choose a favorite video since the last Olympics or anytime in his career. You can send a link to me. If you want to include a picture of yourself and the reason why it's special I can add that right at the beginning.

2) Could be a video interview. OR

3) A montage you create blending performances together set to your favorite music.

4) If you don't want to do a video, you could send a message with your picture, a picture of a favorite place or where you live - a link to your favorite song that I could add to it and make a mini-movie to put on the DVD.

This is just a rough proposal to get us started. You can decide exactly what you want to include - in any combination of the above or something you come up with on your own.

I'd need to have the raw materials by Jan 1, 2010 - or sooner! I leave for Spokane on Jan 13 and need time to create the DVD.

Wow! How ambitious and sweet of you to do this for us ELFFS!

Sounds like a really sweet idea, especially since I know Evan will deeply appreciate getting encouragement from his fans.

I'll probably send a photo and a message as I have no video, but I definitely want to give him all the support I can heading into Vancouver!

Glad you like it. I love fussing with my movie maker so it's truly no work at all - or rather a labor of love - and fun for me at the same time. I think this would be a fun new way to send messages of support and encouragement.

I'm so revved about this season I can hardly think of anything else so might as well put that energy to work on something useful.

Now . . . where was I?

When you send your message and photo, please send along a favorite song title so I can add the audio too - like a soundtrack.

As for a video, you could check out the multimedia section for videos to past performances and see if there's one there you'd like to include. Then just copy/paste the link to me and I'll download it and take it from there, along with your name, why it's special and anything else you'd like to add.

BTW: If someone has another idea to suggest, please do so. It's not my intention to take over nor is this necessarily a done deal but we really don't have a lot of time to wait before starting on something. Please expand on this idea if you have other thoughts for ways to make it better. The more heads the better the project. It's good to have a blending of ideas that is stronger than each one by itself.

Anyway, no matter how I say it , it comes out sounding weird. I just have to trust you all know my heart is in the right place and that place is finding fun and different ways to show our support for Evan especially during this Olympic season. Doesn't matter who heads it up, it's all of us anyway showing we're behind him all the way.

ETA: 11-4-2009 Perhaps it would be best to do two DVDs - one for Nationals and one for Olympics rather than mix them up on the same one. We could put a "do not open until February" on the Olympics one - or something like that. What do you all think?

Oh my god!! Merrybari, I'm sam as you. This EX is the most impressive one to me. I think it can show Evan Lysacek himself. That program is him and he is that program. If I have to choose another one, I'll choose Evan's 2009 Worlds FS - Rhapsody in Blue.


I'll upload the video which I record in COC. I went to COC and met Evan. I'll upload hovideo by firemedia link. Please wait some more days.

To make it simpler for me to keep track of, I'm going to re-post the projects in two separate threads but here are the basic formats I'm proposing.

Two separate DVDs:

1) Nationals: Messages - either written or audio to be given to him in Spokane. If written, please include the title of a favorite song so I can include a soundtrack. If you have a link to that song, please send it along too. If audio, please include a picture - favorite place where you live, favorite one of you and Evan together, one of yourself alone or one of Evan alone or any that you choose.

2) Olympics: Videos of favorite performances since he began his career to be made into a DVD - also to be given to him in Spokane. IMO, for this it would be nice if we could have only one of each program. OR you could make a montage of several of your favorites.

You may participate in one or the other or both. I would appreciate hearing from you if you plan to participate.

Deadline for contributions to both: Jan. 3 or sooner so I have time to assemble the materials and create the DVDs.

Special note:
my14u: As you actually saw Evan's "Around the World" live at Cup of China, it's only fair that you should use it for the Olympics project.

I'll switch to his Tosca debut at 2007 Skate America in Reading. My first live competition, my first meeting with Evan! I'll use "Around the World" as the soundtrack for my montage instead.
