I was just looking over Carley and my travel etc plans for SA and thought this would be a good place for those of us who are going to coordinate our efforts and help each other get there.

Here's our info:
Travel/transpo: I'm flying to Carley's and we're driving from there.

Hotel: Crowne Plaza
Dates: Check-in Nov. 11; Check-out Nov. 16

You forgot to put me on the list. ;) I'll be arriving 11/11 and leaving 11/16, staying at Art Devlin's. I'm in Sec. 18, row 1 for some events and row 2 for some others. My sister, my mom, and I are flying into Albany and taking a car service to Lake Placid because none of us want to drive in case of inclement weather.

I'm getting so excited to see Evan et al on the ice again after hearing all the great things from his Asia tour. He sounds like he's still on cloud 9 and enjoying every minute of time spent with his skating buddies. Let's get this season started.

At least I'll ease into it with Skate for the Heart. What a preview of the who's who of America's elite skaters. Phew! I may have to go for a double cranberry juice on the rocks. :drunk: Are you with me?

It's come to my attention that there is some confusion about the project. So here's the final version. [I've deleted the original to help clear this up too.]

I'll be at Skate America and will deliver messages from Evan fans/ELFFs who would like to send one.

1) Just send PM me, or by email, and
2) I'll copy and paste it to the "template" I just posted in the SA project thread.
3) Then I'll attach that to what USFS calls "Golden Skate" messages.

They have a cut-out of a skate on gold paper. For a contribution to the Memorial Fund, you can write a message to a skater and

4) USFS will see that he/she/they get it - the Golden skate with the written/attached message - during the competition.

I need to receive it by Nov. 6 to be able to get it ready before I leave.

Dumb me.......I am confused. Are we giving him the book at SA or keeping it until Nationals, or giving him another one at Nationals? How many books will there be?

There will be only one book accompanying the banner.

If the book idea pans out, the idea is to keep adding to it until he retires, and give it to him along with the banner at that time. Not sure how to make that work - still working it out in my head.

For Skate America and Nationals, the "project" has been adjusted to attach
ELFF messages to USFS's Golden Skates so he gets them right away at the event.

Will make duplicates of these to add to the book - again if the book idea comes to fruition. It would be so much easier just to sign the back of the banner as originally thought, but that's not possible because the writing would show through just as if it was written on the front! NOT good to my thinking.


Does that clear things up a bit for you - and anyone else who might be wondering? Hope so!

ETA: Oct. 27: The book idea has been scrapped and replaced with a message project. See project thread. So very sorry for all the confusion. I got ahead of myself in my excitement.
