Thanks yet again oh wizard of our internet surfers! :thankyou: Great video. :victory:

I think he has the best possible mind set he could possibly have. And isn't he looking great? Rested and relaxed.

It really heartens me to hear Evan talk like this because he has absolutely THE PERFECT mind-set going into the Games. It is exactly this type of mental and physical preparation that is SO necessary in order to succeed at the highest level.

He is in such a great state, emotionally and physically (after all, I am keeper of Evan's health and safety!).

Thank you, Casa, as usual, for all the links.

:skating: GO EVAN!!! :skating:

P.S. Yes, Mary, he IS looking great.

Thanks Casa, wonderful interview! Appreciate whoever put it online, real good stuff.

Frankly I'm very dissapointed about US media and USFS this time, there're so few reports out there about this event, and they totally ignored the only reigning figure skating world champion they have. Then what's the point to hold the submit and waste everybody's time?

Evan looks great, the only complain I have is that he's too tanned, UV light is very hazardous for skin, we should let him know this. ;)

I agree wholeheartedly. Coverage in all aspects has been woefully inadequate and less than ever before. Witness Champs Camp - now there was a farce in coverage if ever I saw one. You'd think with this being the Olympic season they'd be ramping things UP not down!!

USFS and the media seem to this ELFF too, to be going out of their way to highlight everyone but Evan. I don't get it either!

OTOH, to be fair, the summit is about all the Olympic events and the associated athletes/hopefuls, so it's not really a waste of time. It is doing what it was intended. I/we just don't like to perceive that Evan is being slighted.

I'm sure he's mostly OK with it, but somewhere inside he has to be asking himself the same things we are, though he manages to keep super busy anyway and would be the first to shine the spotlight on others himself. Staying under the radar is not all that bad in helping to minimize pressure. Lets him get on with his training without too much fuss or interference that he doesn't choose himself. He does seem to be learning to pace himself better and say no to things that would overload his schedule.

We just have to keep the faith that things are happening the way they are supposed to and all will work out in the end to Evan's benefit. Sure did last season - eh what! :victory:

"...We just have to keep the faith that things are happening the way they are supposed to and all will work out in the end to Evan's benefit..."

While it is very frustrating on one hand to witness the lack of media attention for Evan (he SO deserves every bit!), in a way it probably is a "blessing in disguise" that Evan can "fly under the radar" so-to-speak leading into the Olympics.

So many times throughout history we've witnessed an incredible performance by an athlete who was relatively unknown prior to winning big. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci spring to my mind (I also love gymnastics).

Anyway, Mary said it - let's keep the faith knowing that it will work out in Evan's favor.

Thanks casa! So glad to hear what they all had to say. It was really enlightening to hear that they look for his powerful ending music for his straight line step FIRST! Makes sense tho' now that I think of it.

He sounds as mentally prepared as he is physically. That can only be a great thing.

ITA! Keeping under the radar is no easy thing for the World Champion so it's good he's keeping as much of a low profile as he can under the circumstances. I always think that's a good place to be. :victory:

Very well said Ellen and Mary, great perspective regarding the lack of media exposure of Evan. I <3 that positive attitude, that's one of the key reasons for me to become such a loyal fan of Evan and loyal fan of the Elffs. You guys are the best!

I really enjoy listening to all interviews from Evan, he's so articulate, sophisticated mature and professional. It's a shame for the US media to keep ignoring those true gems and focus on the junk. Bad taste! But I'm so glad that we didn't miss these great stuff.

I'm thrilled to hear that he felt very well prepared and confident and has perfect strategy and mindset going towards the Olympics. I can't be more proud of our boy, and just wish that all of his hard work will be paid off in the most glorious way this season. :1st:

To everybody who's going to 'Skate for hearts', have a wonderful trip and a fabulous experience. Hopefully Evan will debut one of his new programs (maybe the new EX number) in the show. :cheer: And if you could, please give him a huge hug for us.

Carley and I have very good vibes for Evan this year. He's come into his own and from the way he talks I really think all he learned last season has given him very good mental preparation to excel this one.

I'll be sure to pass along a HUGE ELFIN hug if we get lucky enough to see him. No expectations but that's when Carley and I have had our best "meet and greets" with our fella!!
