QUOTE (Sonnenschein @ Nov 13 2009, 02:26 PM)
Frank's opinion on the national politics in figure skating is very gutsy and honest (and I totally agree with him), but that's a very touchy topic, I just hope this won't cause too much contraversy, coz the judges may read his comment.

Can't be more proud of our boy and hopefully all his hard work will be paid off gloriously at that very special Olympic moment.

So is he going to move to Vegas after retirement or he's going to start his own renting business?  :victory: Didn't he mention before that he wants to pursuit college education in LA area?

Yeah, I'm surprised Frank is so open about his opinions in an Olympic year. But it's a good thing they are looking the the protocols and working on the flaws.

The Vegas house sounds like an investment. Not a personal home. And his father is a contractor.

Good to hear that the skaters are not intimidated by Plushenko. He's beatable. Anything can and does happen in the Olympics and so it will be in Vancouver, too. Frankly, I think Plushenko is a bit over-rated and over-scored at times. Like Frank Carroll said, he can jump and jump and jump.

In 2006, no one challenged Plushenko and I remember him performing a perfunctory program to clinch the Gold. We all know that the podium would have looked MUCH different had Evan been well for the short. It will be MUCH different in Vancouver and Plushenko will not be able to "jog" to a gold medal. It is going to be a battle among several solid contenders. I like how Frank Carroll is refraining from building up a big case for Evan to win Gold - that way it keeps Evan "on his toes" so-to-speak - keeps him continually striving to be absolutely perfect.

I, too, hope Evan will put two clean quads in both programs. He and Frank are timing everything perfectly to be sure Evan stays healthy and is totally prepared to skate his very best in Vancouver.
