Description: Talk about them here!

Pursuing Carley's suggestion, here's the spot to share your thoughts.
I much prefer the winter games, but for summer, my favorite sports are gymnastics, swimming and diving!
Who's your favorite summer Olympian - who are you most looking forward to following?
I'm sorry Nastia didn't make the team, but she sure gave it a great try!
Jordan Weiber is from a little town here in Michigan - didn't even know about her until watching the trials. I'll be watching her from now on.

Great idea!
I LOVE the Summer Olympics, especially gymnastics, diving, swimming and track and field, oh, and equestrian. Basically, I love all of the events, except for: boxing, wrestling, soccer, basketball, archery, fencing.
I've become a big fan of Ryan Lochte (okay, I've got a crush!). He's the number one swimmer on the planet and is poised to win a bunch of gold medals. He's totally prepared, both mentally and physically. He's currently qualified to compete in five events and I'm hoping the coaches put him on the other two relays. They will if they're smart!
Oh, and he's gorgeous. :thud:

I also prefer the Winter games to the Summer games, but since I'm a sports nut, I love to watch it all. My favorite summer sports are track and field, soccer, basketball, swimming and diving.
My favorite summer Olympian is still Mark Spitz. A close second would be Greg Louganis.

B) The woman swimmer who held so many records and did try this yr but didn't make it, wanted to show her children. Janet Evans, back in the day when she was in the Oly, her dad was our vet for our dog in a small town in Orange County... I actually like a lot of the summer (winter more), but some of the track and field I watched the qualifications and there are some older (34 yrs old) participants who will be in London. I like to root :cheer: for the older members, as the younger ones still have plenty of time.... Swimming is always good as is gymnastics. I used to like the ribbon routines.

Looking forward to the ladies' gymnastics after getting to know Team USA during the Olympic trials.
Will also be following the tennis since I'm a Rafa Nadal fan. He won the gold medal for Spain four years ago, breaking Djokovic's heart along the way in a nail-biter of a semifinal. Poor Djoker actually left the court in tears, he was so close to winning a gold medal for Serbia...maybe for him the second time's the charm!

I'm going to be cheering for all of Team Serbia and all of Team Israel this year -- especially when it comes to tennis because I'm a huge fan of Novak Djokovic, Ana Ivanovic, and Shahar Pe'er.

Hope our brothers across the Atlantic put on a nice show and everything goes well. I guess I'll tune in, maybe??
