Hey! Nice to meet you all (online anyway)! :)

Long story short: I became an Evan fan a few months before 2009 Worlds. Up until then I had only paid attention the ladies skating (I'm 20 now, and I was a young girl in the 1990's when Michelle Kwan was at the real height of her career -- she inspired me to want to take skating lessons, actually, and I did. I haven't taken any sort of formal lessons since I was about fourteen or fifteen with the coach I had at the time, but I still go skating "for fun" at the rink as often as possible.) But after Torino, I felt that American ladies skating had lost a lot of talent when Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen stopped skating soon after, so my interest in watching the sport faded somewhat. A year or two after that, I watched more skating and my interest focused to the men. There I discovered the awesome talent that is Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek, but I preferred Evan's style of skating and he quickly became my favorite. :D It's been a blast watching him throughout the past couple of years, and meeting all sorts of awesome people through skating events and websites.

Thanks for sharing elle_! I think there was a lull in skating after Michelle and Sasha retired. Though I've always preferred the men, those two ladies really overshadowed the men's fielf, imo, of their day.
