I received my tickets today. In addition, I have luckily got a ticket of the public rehearsal.
A flier which was enclosed in the envelope of the tickets says that the show will be aired in September 25 and October 1, and a TV program behind the scenes of the show will be broadcasted also on September 18.
Miki Ando was added to the cast.
I really hope Evan can come here with no problem.

That's awesome! Practice sessions are so much fun. Hope for your sake - and his - that Evan will be there too.
I've marked my calendar so I can watch for videos. :thankyou:

Casa, I specifically asked Evan yesterday if he was going to be at Friends on Ice this year, and he confirmed that he is. He won't be in Japan very long (he said he'd miss some rehearsals) and he will be flying out right after the final shows, but he will be there. He said he loves Shizuka and he would do anything for her.

I am glad to hear that Evan is going to get to participate in Friends on Ice. :skating: :skating2: I wonder if Evan was able to get out of attending all of Champs Camp, or if he will only be able to miss part of Champs Camp?
nessats - August 14, 2011 05:18 AM (GMT)
I also asked him about that. He sort of shrugged it off, and said he wasn't sure what was going to happen. He didn't seem to be worried about that, and it seemed pretty clear that he intends to compete at Skate America. He really wants to compete there because it is at home.
Maybe it's all been figured out, but he's not at liberty to say, I don't know.
casaverde - August 14, 2011 06:17 AM (GMT)
Thank you, Diana! :thankyou: :thankyou:
I really appreciate your kindness and I'm glad to hear that. I hope that you had a great time with him. When you have a time, please tell us about your experience.
And also I'm very happy that he intends to compete at SA.
I don't want him to have any trouble by not participating in Champs Camp.
A TV documentary program about Friends on Ice will be aired on September 3.
http://www.ntv.co.jp/friendsonice/index.htmlShizuka produces a special program of "Tohoku tribute" under the theme of "A fresh start (from the earthquake/tsunami disaster)".
I'm glad that Evan joins it.
merrybari - August 14, 2011 12:35 PM (GMT)
Thanks Diana for the updates on Shizuka - glad that worked out for him as he also said in Sun Valley he really wanted to be there.
Also for info about Skate America. I have yet to book my flight - contingent on his announcement. Do have housing and tickets so with this bit of info, brings me one step closer to that final step.
RE: Champs Camp - it's certain Frank will be there w/Mirai - maybe having his coach there will be enough. Sure hope he shows up in the USFS Calendar at least. :)

Hi, there!
Phew I finally can return to here! Actually I've forgot my password, so I couldn't come here for a long time, and I missed not to come.
Oh well, thank you, casaverde to post fantastic topic! As one of Japanese Evan's fan, I'm also looking forward to seeing him again at Friends on Ice. Then, thank you for the special info about Evan, nessats!
I worry about champs camp. I hope if he could join a part of it!

Mary, I would love to know the story behind that face! :lol2: Evan is truly a man of many faces and I love them all.

| Evan's appearance at FOI very much encouraged his fans including me! Once again, I would like to extend my big THANK YOU to Evan |
Was literally a flying trip for him - according to another facebook fan -
arriving in time for only the public practice and leaving before the finale of the final show. He's burning the candle at both ends! Good thing he's fit.
Sonnenschein - August 29, 2011 10:22 PM (GMT)
Thanks Mary! I hope Evan will get some much needed rest on the plane. Shizuka is blessed to have such a great friend like Evan.
Does he still need to go to Colorado? The Champs Camp was over. I hope USFS will arrange a special internal test for him in LA. :flower:

Really don't know how the Champs Camp thing worked out, but I do know it's possible to have private "screenings" of programs. I believe that happened when Michelle was looking to get back into competition after being away for a while.
Also, I think it's a huge help that Frank was there with Mirai - and maybe some others too - to get other information about the requirements and bullet points of IJS for this season. That has to count for something.

>>HERE<< is a link to casa's site - with her report of 2011 Friends on Ice.
Enjoy!!
:thankyou: casa! for the great report! So happy you were able to see this show more than once. And the practice too. I always enjoy those - almost as much as the shows - but of course, for different reasons. On :cloud9: for any chance to see him and read when others do get to see him too.
He's like the iron man to be able to perform so well suffering from what must be fierce jet lag! If ever anyone needs more than 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, it's Evan.
elover - August 30, 2011 02:33 PM (GMT)
Casa, what a wonderful job you did with your report of FOI. I could picture the skaters as I read your words. :thankyou:
The mention of Evan not being the tallest skater brought a :) to my face.
Again, thank you for sharing and letting us be a part of FOI. So happy you were able to attend the shows and the practice.
Sonnenschein - August 30, 2011 04:37 PM (GMT)
Casa, if you can read this message, :thankyou:, what a great report! We missed you. Glad you finally got the chance to see Evan skating to the Climb and Roxxane live. :cloud9:
Mary, thank you for the sharing! I'm still amazed by how our Iron Man Evan can accomplish this flying trip to Japan in such a stunning fashion. Wow!
In FOI's brochure, Evan mentioned the hardest challenge for him in skating:
"I always have troubles with jumps off of the left leg, because of many injuries to my left foot." For CCW skaters, those jumps include axel, salchow, loop and toe-loop, now we know why he only does lutzs and flips in his show programs.
I hope his body can hold up for as long as he wants to skate competitively. Barring injuries, I do believe he still can achieve a lot more victories in his career, :1st: because he has so much potentials and passion, he truly loves what he's doing, he's always willing to learn, he works harder than anybody else, and he never stops improving. Most important of all, he has the heart of a champion! :cheer:
merrybari - August 30, 2011 04:55 PM (GMT)
I totally agree, sunny!!
Here's the other answers from the program. You'll have to infer the questions - they were in Japanese script! :)
1) It's always great to kick off my season at Friends on Ice. There is no show in the world with a cast as tight as FOI.
2) I always have trouble w/ jumps off the left leg because of many injuires to my left foot. My favorite part of skating is when the energy builds through a performance and explodes at the end. That's why I always try to put fast music and a fast spin at the end of a program.
3) Hard work = success!
4) I am so excited to come skate for my extremely loyal Japanee fans. It has been a difficult year for so many in Japan, and I hope our Friends on Ice show this year can give you a little escape. Please enjoy the show.

Bravo, Casa! Then I was so glad to see you finally at the venue!! It was my special memories about FOI as the same as Evan's transcendence art performance! :thankyou: ...Yumiko
