Title: ELFF and Content from Other Boards
Megi - October 27, 2010 07:01 PM (GMT)
Just a quick reminder that spreading ANY content from FSU's 'Members Only' areas, including the Secret Sources, is strictly forbidden on this board.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Whoops ... very sorry Megi! I wasn't aware of the rule. :hide:
That said ... I'm not a member there. I found it on the "Evan's schedule" thread via a Google search.

No problem, just thought I'd mention it as we don't want to get in trouble with our friends on FSU.
Now back to regular programing. ;)

Just so that I'm clear, also. The listing of the Secret Source items in the body of the public FSU are verboten to repeat?
If prefaced as secret source, will not in the future repeat, then.

Yes, please. Let's stay away from any news that are posted exclusively (coming from a non-media source) on other boards in general.
If it's supported by a news story in another media outlet, and there's a link you can post, that's a different story.
Hope it makes sense. Cheers! :)

Married to a newsman for 40 years, when there wasn't any 'sources said,' or anything without credible attribution, I do understand. Thanks.

Just want to confirm/clarify one thing based on SoCalMAB's statement in the Skate America thread that posts from FSU and other boards are "public domain." My understanding is that the rule against quoting from other boards has nothing to do with intellectual property rights and what is or is not in the public domain. My understanding is that the rule has to do with how the founders and current members of ELFF would like it to be managed - such as deterring gossip, unconfirmed reports, or other such statements that may not be in the spirit of creating a community of friends and fans, and/or may mislead others who visit this site. I think merrybari's comments in the Skate America thread summarized the issue nicely. Moderators/admins, please correct me if I have misunderstood anything. Thanks!

Diane,
You have stated it correctly. It is ELFF policy not copyright, public domain etc., issues that are in play here.
