Right now we are recently opened and many cannon characters are still in need of claiming so our subplots can get underway. below the entrance hall, the quiet and dark part of the castle. home to the slytherins and hufflepuff's, it is a place that you can get easily lost in, so don't count on getting in and out easily if you want to start to wander.

the ground floor.
students first see this floor of the school upon arrival through the large, oak doors. the most common feature of the ground floor is the great hall, but there is also open space for chatter and a room where the house point hourglasses are kept.

the first floor.
the first floor is full of normal every-day activity because this floor is primarily classrooms. it is a source of noise and commotion between passing bells and some of the same fashion after hours if you know what I mean. students also gather around here to watch dueling matches in the dueling hall.

the second floor.
this is one of the avoided floors, not only for the same of more sporadic classes, but because this is where the headmaster's office is. also, this floor is avoided because of moaning myrtle's bathroom and the adjacent corridors where she sometimes lurks.

the third floor.
this is another floor that doesn't get alot of hype from students. for the most part, it's abandoned and even filch doesn't go down there. it's a perfect place to hide from prefects, though you need to be careful. I've heard that peeves stalks the halls especially when filch has students cleaning the trophies in the trophy room for detention.

the fourth floor.
here's a floor that always seems to be busy with the passing of classes to trips to the hospital wing or the library for various purposes. one of the main attractions on this floor is also the girl's bathroom for obvious reasons for both genders.

the fifth floor.
now we begin our journey into the floors that actually mean something to most people in this school. on the fifth floor we have the prefect's bathroom - prefects only, obviously, but some people manage to get in - the music room, and the entrance to ravenclaw tower.

the sixth floor.
this floor is a little but dull, consisting of the study hall room and the teacher's lounge not far off. the marauders quite enjoy this floor for their pranks besides the dungeons because there are large targets of people. oh yes, and there is also they boy's bathroom.

and finally we have reached the top of the floors! here we have the room of requirement, the broom closet, and the entrance to the gryffindor common room. it is the ultimate marauder stomping ground in the castle since it is so close to their common room.

the upper-levels.
here are the tippity-top places of Hogwarts. there is not much here in terms of classrooms, nor is it moderately busy, but people come up here for the view atop the atronomy tower and the room. it is also a desierable place fore romance ... and to send that letter home to mum and dad before you recieve a howler.

the courtyard.
this lare, stone courtyard is at the middle of Hogwarts castle with many doors leading to it from the inside floors. students often use it as a cut-through if they are running late for a class while other just use it on a nice day to sit outside a relax ... away from the noisy lake. there are a few stone benches, a fountain, and a few sporadic plants to give the place more life.

the black lake.
this is the place to be during those nice fall and spring days where the breeze is blowing and the sun isn't frying you. the black lake, though known for its squid hiding in its depths, is the place where all the students come and converse about their day and relax before dinner and that accursed homework everyone has. sit beneath a tree for a while, or rest your feet in the water.

the quidditch pitch.
a large part of Hogwarts life is the sport of quidditch and here is where students either partake or spectate this historical wizarding sport. though it is primarily used by the house quidditch teams, or for the flying classes of mme hooch, other students are welcome to pick up a broom and fly around for a while. I've heard that it is especially nice at night.

the greenhouses.
these greenhouses are primarily used for the herbology classes, filled with plants one probably wouldn't see in your local florist shop. most students avoid these places as much as possible because of the frightening and reuplsive plants, buth other come here because they enjoy the subject. who honestly does? well someone with a potion's background, probably.

the forbidden forest.
yes, the forest that lies at the outer edge of Hogwarts is forbidden, meaning off-limits to all students. of course the faculty have every right to say this because there are creatures that are heard from there at night that could cause harm to the students if they were to wander in there. however, most do not listen to this rule and take a walk in there anyway to either explore or to prove they aren't chicken. I've also seen many a slytherin walk in there, too, so maybe they are plotting something. but who knows, eh?

the whomping willow.
there is a tree that sits on the far edge of the Hogwarts grounds that is gangly and hideous. but unlike other trees, it actually moves on its own without the wind pushing it forward. a few years back it was a new installment because this vicious tree guards the passageway to the shrieking shack in hogesmeade. only the marauders know this, however. to the rest it is an anomoly.

hogesmeade village.
in the area, this small wizarding villae is the only attraction other than Hogwarts itself. students tavel here on specific weekends with the rest of the student body to enjoy a drink, some chocolate, and the real world outside of the castle. other lucky ones just happen to sneak off here during the school week via secret passaes in Hogwarts or just by walking down the path without being noticed.

diagon alley.
take a walk through the leaky cauldron pub and you will find a hidden cobblestone street behind a stone wall. here you will find everything a wizard or witch would need from money to clothing, books to food, and your very own wand. during the summer months, this road is filled to burst with students and their parents grabbing school supplies and otherwise the traffic is fairly normal.
