Hah! myra, straight to the point, huh?

Well, we discussed some things about him in the Airen-thread...

Like his relationship to his father? Is he much like his Dad?

I think that when he was a kid, he was the one who always tried to please his father ... Don't know why ...

yes? I have think he was the other way around...or he was first the nice kid and then hit his teenager-years and made Airen and his Wife going mad over him.

I think you could be right, Myra... some kids have a sense about them, and when their parents are going through troubled times, they try to make things easier on them...

oh, I didn't see it that way, but I could see Pash that way. As a kid who feels responsible for his parents and tries to make it all better for them, even though they never asked him to do that.

I don't know ... a while back, TCR said something about middle children having a radar for other middle kids, and I know that I'm one of the people that tries to please everyone ... Maybe it's a deal like that ...

I mean, for all we know, flying is like an implanted joy. He couldn't get out of it, so he grew to enjoy it.

That's possible.

What kind of person do you think Pash is, as an adult?

Wow, Crackens are everywhere at DT! lol.

If Pash was a people-pleaser, it probably did grow out of having a not-so-swift childhood. There was a nice chunk of time when his father was hiding out in the mountains with the other rebels onworld and his mother was hauling him around, helping set up safe houses. I'd think that would probably have affected him a lot as a kid.

To answer the initial question: So, what about Pash? I find him a really interesting character, as he brings a background very different to that of the other pilots. I think he's often underutilized; I'd love to see someone do a series about what he was up to during most of the early Bantam era. It'd be pretty cool, IMHO. I also think that, out of those who we have gotten to see as adults thus far, he's the most normal child of a hero. Then again, it's easy to be normal when you're being compared to the Solo children. damn, I am a middle-child and a good friend told me to stop worrying for my family so much. blink.gif

erm, back to topic... well, Pash could be such a kid, but do you thinkhe still acts like that as a teenager?

Jes posted while I was, but I want to play, too.

What kind of person do you think Pash is, as an adult?

Well, we know he's concerned about the people he flies with; he obviously doesn't take them for granted and he values their lives. At the same time (and I know this has been said elsewhere by a number of people) he's probably very stubborn. He's also most likely very independent.

I think there are times he feels as if he's discriminated against because of his father. For example, when he wanted to join a squadron and leave his own at the beginning of WG, we're told a number of squadron commanders didn't want him to join their groups because they worried his father had put him there to keep an eye on them. I think that's got to be rough on him. I'd also assume there are people who are wary to befriend him for the same reasons.

yes, I think it must hurt as hell to be treated like that. In WG you can even see him getting angry when Wedge suggests he might be here casue of his father, but he never flips. I think he learned the hard way to sta calm even if someone questions his own motivations.

Well he is General around NJO, not that I'm a expert on that, but i know it nevertheless.

Like I said I have no idea when he was promoted to that rank.

Pash was a Major at the beginning of the last book in the NJO. So I'd say something like captain or maybe already major. I don't think that he ever made general.

And, random NJO fact, Pash actually has a pretty decent role in the last two books. [face_love].gif

You'd think that she'd be at least mentioned! *has, for some odd reason, just started shipping Pash/Inyri* And by just, I mean, like about ten seconds ago ...

Pash/Inyri, huh? Who do the rest of you think Pash could be with? Not necessarily from a crack!ship fanfic perspective, but...

This post has been edited because I posted it late at night, and now - when I'm awake - it makes little to no sense.

Pash is a commander as of TTT. I'd say he probably still holds that rank as of SoA.

! *has, for some odd reason, just started shipping Pash/Inyri*
*dies* I wrote one of those once. It was then banished to the 'ye who shall not see the light of day' folder. [face_tongue].gif Then again, I've written a lot of crack ships and sent them there. I think only Corran and Lujayne ever escaped. The Corran/Lara one was probably the worst, though.

Myra, what rebound relationship? *confused*

Do I get to see one of the never-see-light fics when if I ever do that Prue fic? [face_tongue].gif

And that was twisted crevices of my mind. You don't want to know where that came from ...
