It's a Nut!!!!

(hug) Well, the comic, Wedge seemed to be already in Commander-mode, not the young hotshot, but well, like he has been Rogue Leader already. That was a bit strange.

CD: Well, snow comes, snow goes. But I live in an area where it's usually warmer then the rest of Germany, near the mountains. Up there, I'd say about a meter and more. It's not the snow that's dangerous for us, but the ice when it's not cold enought for snow, but too cold for rain. It's like a big ice-skating arena.

I wish I could send you some of our experience with snow over there to Britain. In Southern Germany you are just used to it and deal with it. Of course, the Norwegian would just smile at that...

Not too bad, thank you. The heating's been off since Fri night. A plumber came this morning to deal with a blocked sink, which as I though was because of a frozen pipe. When that was cleared, the boiler, which used the same outlet pipe, fired up again. So the heating's been back on today, and it's been lovely.

How are you ?

Yeah, it's just that time of the year where you are bombarded with viruses and bactaria. But I'll get through it like everyone else. [face_tongue].gif

Luckily I've had nothing worse than sniffles, though Tuesday's games were cancelled because Ed wasn't feeling well when he got home from work, and didn't want to spread his germs around.

I'm still having problems with the living room radiator, which heats up for a couple of hourse, then goes cold again, while the others are hot. An engineer came by yesterday and replaced the thermostatic valvem which was missing a foam inset, Unfortunately, the problem showed up again a couple of hours later.
I got through to the company this morning, after only 20 mins on hold, but they can't send anyone to deal with it until the 6th of Feb. So I'll have an intermittently cool living room at least until then [face_sad].gif

Hope they figure it out soon. That's a long time without reliable heat in the winter. [face_sad].gif

The rest of the flat keeps warm, which helps, and the new halogen heater is a blessing. I'd put it back in its box, and away in a cupboard, but I got it out again. At least I'm only using it in the living room, so I don't have to carry it around from room to room, and wait for the room to warm up, as I was doing last weekend.

We had more snow this evening. I'd looked at the weather forecast on line and saw snow was due, so I went out in the afternoon to the supermarket. I got in plenty of milk, with a spare pint to go in the freezer, for emergencies, and I'm well stocked up for the next few days. It's going to stay cold, but the forecast is for rain, rather than more snow, next week, so I should be able to get out when I need to go shopping again.

I've been occupying myself by rearranging the dolls in the Sindy houses. The dinner party is now having a dance in the 70's living room, and five dolls are on the roof terrace, modelling winter coats. Must start a project in one of my more productive hobbies, like knitting.

The cats do sometimes come and sit on me for a while. They are nice and warm and it's lovely just having them there, purring away.

The rain has washed most of the snow away now.

Well, at least it's getting warmer again. Over here, the weather is completely crazy. Last week minues degrees, tomorrow up to 15 and on the weekend supposdely snow again. Grrr!

Is it true that JJ Abrams is directing the new Star Wars movies? Like Mara already once said, not sure how to feel about that.

It's in the Star Wars Insider magazine, issue 35. It came out last summer. I posted about it in a thread in the Cantina. I really enjoyed it.
