Rating:

The board itself is rated PG-13. However, "Jes' Lounge," one of the fan fiction forums, is rated R. Any talk outside of that forum, story or chat, should be kept to a PG-13 level. If you have any questions about what this rating system means, please contact us.

Language:

Please refrain from excessive profanity. Most of you are familiar with the Jedi Council boards, and while we're trying for a more relaxed atmosphere, people do find swearing offensive and we'd like to keep it to a minimum where possible.

Do not use shit or fuck. Keep all other vulgarities to a minimum. What is a minimum? We do not have a set formula to use, so we will judge on a case by case basis. If we edit a post or ask you to keep it down a little, please do so without complaint. Arguing your case will earn you some time away from the board to think about it.

In "Jes' Lounge" and "Adult Writer's Resource," language restrictions will be more lax. The rating for this board is higher, so it makes sense for language allowances to be higher. That said, no swearing for the sake of swearing, and keep it reasonable. Jes will still edit for language. These fics do have sex scenes, but they CAN be tasteful.

Treatment of other posters:

Flaming in any form is not tolerated. Any user attacking others will be given a warning for the first and second offenses and banned for the third.

While we'll permit cursing, it should NOT be directed at other users.

Please do not respond to flames. It only encourages the user to continue the behavior and serves to escalate the situation. If you are being flamed, please contact one of the moderators and we'll take care of the problem.

We will use the three strikes and you’re out policy. We should only have to warn you once about this. Twice is being generous. Three times is amazingly patient of us. Four times and you get an automatic ban.

NOTE: For any offense other than arguing over an edit, we will also give you three warnings before a ban. Also, DO NOT POST HERE UNDER ANOTHER NAME IF YOU ARE BANNED. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN A LONGER BAN AND OTHR POSSIBLE CONSEQUENSES.

Bans:

The first ban will be 24 hours, unless the offense is severe enough to warrant longer. Each time thereafter, they will double. (For example, second ban is 48 hours, third is 96 hours, etc.)

However, this is subject to change by whoever is doing the banning. We may decide to be more lenient. ;)

If you are banned and want to know why, either make a name solely to use to PM us, or catch one of us on AIM or e-mail. BE POLITE.

Images and Emoticons in Signatures

All images in signatures must be no larger than 300x80 and under 100k. You are allowed the use of up to six emoticons, plus one image. All font must be size 7 or under. If your signature violates these rules, you will be asked to change it.

This is to help those on dial-up, so please be careful to follow this. :)

Religious Issues:

Religious discussion is permitted, but no user is allowed to attack/mock any religion. Religious insults will be seen as such regardless of what religion is being targeted.

Drug and Alcohol Use:

Bringing this up because it's an issue at the JC. If you aren't allowed to drink where you live, you shouldn't be talking about how drunk you got last night. If you aren't allowed to use a drug where you live, you shouldn't be talking about how high you got. That said, discussion about drug and alcohol use will be allowed, but will be monitored.
