For those that don't know, this is the tune that plays during the end of DMC3 and was used as a backing track for one of teh original DMC3 trailers. I -think- it's also used in the intro movie partially, it's certainly got a variation at the start of Mission 8 when Dante gains his devil trigger ability:

Edit - Oh yes, I'd do the same for SPace Channel 5 as it has so many more songs but the soundtrack I have of that is in Japanese and I can only remember "We are known as the Rhythm Rogues"

I'm terrible at making out lyrics even when they're sung, let alone growled. It's really nice to see that this track actually seems to directly relate to Dante, and I never realised it but the duality of the voices mirrors the dichotomy of good and evil (or just human and devil) within him. Whodathunkit!

Listening to it and reading through your lyrics and a few others (IGN board version, Gametalk version), one thing that sticks out to me is the early line "????? makes me stronger" - I'm definitely hearing the word 'chosen' at the start there but no one else seems to be.

Then there's that whole faint chorus bit that are probably talking in Latin or something. A tricky project! I shall return to this in the fullness of time.

sounds like myrrh-tree. Darned if I can think of a coheretn word that rhymes with that.

Oh and it's black night rather than dark.

Just realized that "Blessed by the mater" could be "Blessed by the martyr". Originally i was thinking it was a reference to Eva and indeed it could still be but it's defiantely pointing towards the priestess used to seal Temin-Na-Gru(sp?) the first time.
