Hello Everyone! My Husband and I are interested in adopting a dog who is bilaterally deaf. He has been living in a shelter for the past 5yrs, and when we heard his story our hearts went out to him.
We have no experience with deaf dogs, and would be grateful for any advice and any points to consider before we adopt Winston. We have met Winston, and he seems to be a very gentle American Staffordshire Terrier; although I do have a fear that he may become agressive due to his breed and his being deaf (I really don't want to startle him, and have him bite). We currently a cat, we have no dogs at this time, but have in the past, and would like to adopt multiple dogs in the future. Thank you for any advice. |
