Darwinism almost claimed my brother today...
Posted by Big Kahuna - 11-29-09 02:56 - 2 comments
My brother is an idiot. He almost blew himself up today.

My parents and he have been staying over at my grandfather's. My Mom cooked breakfast, and because EVERYTHING here at my grandfather's is broken she accidentally left the gas in the stove going. She has a hearing problem so she couldn't hear it still going. My grandfather drove them home and then I came into town with him because I have plans. Four hours later we arrive and the place REEKS of gas. My brother said he HEARD the hissing from the stove but never thought to check it out. The bonehead was lucky he didn't blow himself up or asphyxiate. The slightest spark...

And my grandfather is so damn afraid of the cold he wouldn't let me keep the doors open to ventilate the house. I'd be worried about the gas frying my brother's braincells, but obviously that ship has already sailed. He's SEVEN-friggin-TEEN and still can't be trusted by himself for FOUR HOURS!

Amendment to Texas Consitution Bans Marriage
Posted by LeoKingdom - 11-21-09 17:55 - 1 comments
QUOTE
While attempting to block same-sex marriages in Texas, legislators may have inadvertently banned all marriage state-wide. Oops.

In the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Houston lawyer Barbara Ann Radnofsky said the following clause in The Texas Constitution designed to block same-sex marriage actually blocks all marriages.

Art. 1 Sec. 32.  MARRIAGE. (a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman. (cool.gif  This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.

The amendment, added Nov. 8, 2005, is not a statement mired in legalese.  In fact, it' ...read more

 The 201st Decade
Posted by Big Kahuna - 10-25-09 21:35 - 2 comments
...It's not like anyone else has come forward with a decent name for this decade. Anyway, it just hit me--in a couple months, this decade will be over. That just boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Now, the 80s were known for its pop culture fads, like Ghostbusters, Transformers, the Rubik's Cube, Michael Jackson, etc. etc. etc. The 90s were known for boy bands, Beanie Babies, Titanic, etc. So, what will people think of in the future when they look back on this decade?

Obviously, there's the big stuff, like 9/11 and the "War on Terror."

I'm thinking this will also be looked back on as the boom decade for comic book movies, since we've had them every year this decade, and they're finally given the big-budget treatment. Nolan's Batman movies will be the hallmark of those films.

Even though Pixar has been making movies since the 90s, they've really hit their zenith this decade, with films like Wall-E, Th ...read more

 Later yall!

Well, like half a year ago or something, BK and I got to talking about how we'd do a plotline with a big baddie dug up from the ground running amok and being a good board-wide villain. To be honest, it went on much longer than I expected! But still, it was a lot of fun, and I got to have fun with more than just the monster, but the transformers, too: Streak and Epoch.

That said, I do have other projects I've been hoping to get to, and now that Ulgris has had its last hurrah and Streak and Epoch have said their goodbyes in their own ways (Streak apologetically and antisocial Epoch skipping that step entirely), I figure it's time I should be moving along cool.gif

I've given you guys the slip before, though, and you dragged me back. This probably won't be my last jaunt through the Core. Especially si ...read more
