| QUOTE | While attempting to block same-sex marriages in Texas, legislators may have inadvertently banned all marriage state-wide. Oops.
In the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Houston lawyer Barbara Ann Radnofsky said the following clause in The Texas Constitution designed to block same-sex marriage actually blocks all marriages.
Art. 1 Sec. 32. MARRIAGE. (a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman. ( This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.
The amendment, added Nov. 8, 2005, is not a statement mired in legalese. In fact, it' ...read more |

The 201st Decade |

...It's not like anyone else has come forward with a decent name for this decade. Anyway, it just hit me--in a couple months, this decade will be over. That just boggles the mind, doesn't it?
Now, the 80s were known for its pop culture fads, like Ghostbusters, Transformers, the Rubik's Cube, Michael Jackson, etc. etc. etc. The 90s were known for boy bands, Beanie Babies, Titanic, etc. So, what will people think of in the future when they look back on this decade?
Obviously, there's the big stuff, like 9/11 and the "War on Terror."
I'm thinking this will also be looked back on as the boom decade for comic book movies, since we've had them every year this decade, and they're finally given the big-budget treatment. Nolan's Batman movies will be the hallmark of those films.
Even though Pixar has been making movies since the 90s, they've really hit their zenith this decade, with films like Wall-E, Th ...read more |

Well, like half a year ago or something, BK and I got to talking about how we'd do a plotline with a big baddie dug up from the ground running amok and being a good board-wide villain. To be honest, it went on much longer than I expected! But still, it was a lot of fun, and I got to have fun with more than just the monster, but the transformers, too: Streak and Epoch.
That said, I do have other projects I've been hoping to get to, and now that Ulgris has had its last hurrah and Streak and Epoch have said their goodbyes in their own ways (Streak apologetically and antisocial Epoch skipping that step entirely), I figure it's time I should be moving along
I've given you guys the slip before, though, and you dragged me back. This probably won't be my last jaunt through the Core. Especially si ...read more |

Been awhile. Too long. Sorry, I just let my job and life get the better of me there for a minute. Procrastination didn't help either.
If you guys'll have me, I want to get back into the game. All work and no play is starting to turn me into a grumpy old man.
Either tonight (more likely tomorrow) I'll start posting again.....
Cya! |
