Title: OCT Twenty-Ten Rules & Signup sheet

Big Kahuna - February 28, 2010 05:44 AM (GMT)
It's back for another year! Doesn't matter if your original character is functional or offline, from a game past or present, any character played on this site is welcome!

To sign up, simply pick one of your characters and post their profiles in this thread. Sorry, you can play only one. Submissions will be open on March 1 and close on the 14th, on which we’ll announce the randomly-selected matches.

Once your have your partner, start a thread and let the fight begin! After five posts from each combatant, in which each character must gain AT LEAST one wound, the RPing will stop and the outcome will be determined by your fellow Corers. There will be a forty-eight hour window for people to post and name who they think would win the battle and explain why. “Cuz he’s cooler!” won’t be accepted as a valid explanation and any votes like that will be disqualified. You must explain who you think is the better fighter, who you think is more powerful and how you think the victor will triump.

What qualifies as an OC? Any character that is completely made up and not from Transformers canon is an original character. If its shell is based off a pre-existing toy, but the character itself is an original concept than it is still an OC. However, canon characters in originally-designed bodies do not count.

Winners will succeed to the next round, and so on until only one ‘bot is left standing. Staff members (Enforcers and Mods) may also participate. Sorry, this is for Transformers only—if we involved fleshlings, monsters and Gor, we’d risk very unbalanced fights.

Good luck, and may the best Transformer win!

BIO:

As many knew, the Tripredicus Council headed the Predacon masses that occupied Cybertron and a few other choice locations. Politically, they were fiends, weeding out any and all opposition to their rule within Predacon ranks. They managed to keep their control on the aggressive horde with carefully selected agents.

One of those said agents is Atrocity.

Like most of her 'co-workers', she has an insane cunning. She was trained under a mech called Terraxis. It is from him that she learned the delights of biochemistry and the delicious horrors she could create with it. However, being raised under the Council, she grew rather dependent on the Council for orders and direction. Soon she would have to learn to think for herself as she was sent aboard the Conquest to spy on the colony and make regular report to her superiors.

Now stranded on this strange planet, Atrocity operates alone, separated from her leaders- the Council- and is at a loss for how best to further their plans of conquest. Her main goal originally was to link up a communications signal to recieve orders from the Council, but as she flexed her freedom, that goal became a side game, the true game was to develop her own brand of chaos on the new planet. Though she does spy on some of the more interesting subjects aboard the ship, she is exploring her field of biochemistry in an attempt to make the perfect beast mode that could satisfy her twisted need: sculpting.

Sculpting started as mere hobby back on Cybertron. There were far too many nooks and crannies for the Maximals to keep an accurate population count on Cybertron, so Atrocity helped herself to some normal bots who would not be missed in a crowd. They were crystallized with pre-developed cement that dried clear and strong. So far the Maximals have no leads on the 'disappearances'. Atrocity enjoyed her living gallery of Maximals trapped in crystal. It escalated into an obsession, her work gaining popularity among the Predacons and even some all-out Maximal artisans- the slightly insane individuals who did not care for the price of art.

Personality wise, Atrocity is insane, yes, but to her, it's a matter of perspective. In kidnapping her subjects, she, on one hand, is helping the Predacon cause, or on the other, preserving the present Maximal for future Autobot spawn to see. To be blunt, she twists what others say and uses any and all loopholes she can find. If you find out her intentions, she's delighted instead of wrathful, exhilarated that another has seen from her point of view.

Her new form has made her self-conscious, but she rarely shows it, instead entertains the idea that she is a living masterpiece of her own design.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:
Because of her transformation into a MetalMaster, Atrocity’s old weapons have been directly intergrated into her body. Her cement like ooze still spews from her mouth at an impressive twenty-two feet, its slightly acidic qualities warping metal as it dries over the course of three days. Gattling gun barrels are situated in her neck, extending as they fire, their power increased marginally. Once her claws latch onto something, they can directly inject numbing toxins into whatever she may be holding. To her great delight, her wings are coated with a resilient metal that deflects moderate laser fire and other weaponry.

As per her melding of machine and organic, she no longer suffers from scrambled genetics. Her wings can carry her longer and faster, while her suddenly she has the power to engage opponents directly instead of hiding behind other Predacons and smooth talking. Though she’d rather not.

Though perhaps the most startling change in her structure is her newly added mechanical 'womb'. Her desire to create biological mixes was integrated into her body. Internally she may design the genetic code, then her gestates whatever artifical abominations she produces until birth.

WEAKNESSES:
She'd rather not get her hands dirty and use 'allies' or her doomed-to-die creations of genetically changed creatures to do the grunt work of capturing her next sculpture. Perhaps another flaw is her madness. She cannot be bought, bullied, or reasoned with, which may provoke her superiors and put her life in danger. Another undesirable trait is her acute paranoia. Her personal database is triple encrypted as are most of her memories and various access codes. Her confidence in her warrior-grade body has become overconfidence.

Her womb has setbacks. During the 'pregnancy' her abdominal section bulges, and her speed decreases. Added to the strain, she must eat considerably more matter to sustain the life within her, including any toxins or posions she wants her offspring to inherit. Of course she cannot produce any creature larger than about three feet tall. For the entire development stage, she tends to be extremely hostile.

Go on, then - I'll join in the madness ;)

ENDURANCE: 6
RANK: 4
COURAGE: 6
FIREPOWER: 4
SKILL: 7

BIO:

Widow is the sort of bot you don't want to make enemies with. Sarcastic, cold-hearted, resourceful, intelligent and fast enough to put one of his razor-sharp blade-arms through your motherboard before you can say "Is that thing sharp enough to poke my optic out?"
He often appears to be sadistic to those who don't know him, but even more so to the Predacons, which he readily acts out cruel and terrible 'pranks' and lays web-traps for them to stumble upon.
The bot does, however, have a soft spot for nature and all its beauty; he believes the greatest beauty in the world is the deadly elegance of the spider and thus chose the Terran Black Widow, the apparent ‘King of Spiders’, as his alternate form.

Widow and his accomplice, Corva, begain their career as ‘Guns-for-Hire’ at about the time when the Autobot / Decepticon war ended, figuring that they could profit from the angst and the eventual ‘old grudges’ between former Autobots and Decepticons. He did the tracking and planning. She did the seduction and eventual killing. They were joined by a friend of theirs a few years later, Slade, an old Autobot who disliked the ‘Great Upgrade’ and refused to be upgraded. Widow and Corva, however, relished the idea of fuel-efficiency and embraced the upgrade.
However, this easy-going, well-paid enterprise was soon to fail. Around the year of 2306 (Standard Terran), Widow changed his opinion on how his life was turning out and decided he wanted to live an adventure. Hearing of a colonial mission that was going to be launched soon, he and Corva headed off to the Maximal headquarters and dedicated themselves to the cause, enrolling as one of the only professions that got as far away from death as possible that he could learn quickly - Engineering, taking a preference for the Environmental aspect.
All that Widow will reveal about himself before he joined the cause is that he and Corva were mercenaries and that he did not care who he killed, but only how much he was paid. Now, he says, he does not care about the money, all he wants is to be as far away from killing another bot as he can... But of course ‘Old habits die hard...’. Of his past, he will not say much else; this reluctance - and the risqué nature of his previous occupation - has cursed him to a lower rank than should normally be applied to his profession, even though it is an important task for the colony to prevail.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:

Widow has a hooded stun ray on each forearm that form balls of pure electricity around his hands that, on contact, shut down the target's circuits for about a minute, effectively incapacitating them. He also has two spiders leg-shaped concussion blasters fused to his back that can drop down and fire without hindrance (Think Megatron from the old Energon TV show).
Not one to be outdone in melee, Widow's nimble spider-like limbs can double-up as razor-sharp blades in the swirling and deadly dance of close combat.
Widow has a number of compartments built into his robotic body - once used to smuggle weapons and other items. These now hold a selection of the tools of his trade, for instance a number of sealable test-tubes, a pair of tweezers and a scalpel were stored in the compartment on his upper left leg.
In Beast Mode, his fangs hold nerve-killing venom within them that - very - slowly cause the receiver great pain whilst in Beast mode - and a little numb feeling in Bot mode - until it is either neutralised or is purged from the organic system of the bot. Widow also has a web-launcher in his Beast mode’s abdomen, as befitting of a spider.

WEAKNESSES:

Widow is a loner, preferring to operate behind enemy lines than in drawn-out battles, his weapons load-out mirrors this perfectly, but he will take part in the 'wider battle' when forced or persuaded.
He's not the strongest of bots, and he's a little under-powered in the firepower department.
Some think him a coward and this is reflected in how others treat him in battle, but he isn’t. His martial code is “A Tactical Withdrawal is the better part of Valour”.

Name: Jumpstart
Allegiance: Maximal
Function: Medic
Alternate Mode: Old Red Kangaroo
Height:
Beast Mode: 5’11” with 3’ tail ( 1.7m x 1m )
Maximised: 5’11” ( 1.7m )

FIREPOWER: 4
SKILL: 9

Bio: Rough around the edges is a polite way of describing “old man Kangaroo”. He’ll swear, drink and party with the rest of the mob but put him in a tight spot with a life on the line and he’ll come into his own element.

He’s an exceptionally skilled medic, who, despite the bravado and ruffianism, always gives 110% in the line of duty. Just don’t get in between him and his drink after surgery or, as he says, he’ll “hand you five good reasons to get the hell out”… that is before he smacks you halfway across the bar or tail swipes you off your feet. Jumpstart is well-versed in all manner of medicine from the standard to the firmly unorthodox and isn’t averse to flying by the seat of his “pants” to repair a damaged colleague on the field either.

Beneath all that, on a personal level, he’s one of the old-school types. Dedicated to his chosen cause and willing to fight to the last drop of fluid in his lines to uphold it. He will give all to preserve the lives of those in his care, including a hefty amount of damage to the opposition. Treat him with respect and he’ll return the favour, possibly even offering friendship and a few drinks in his more sociable moments. Cross him and you’ll regret it for quite a while, as this old boy can hold his grudges as well as his high-grade.

Weapons/Abilities: Jumpstart is equipped with all manner of surgical tools, everything from arc-welders to plasma cutters, cryogenic sprayers and onboard medication infusers all of which are neatly stowed in his subspace ‘pouch’.

He may be past his prime, but he can still hold his own in a tight corner – in fact, he’s a known and noted bar-room ‘boxer’. Being a hands-on mech, Jumpstart would lead you to believe his ‘primary’ weapon is a sharp left hook. Failing that, he’ll make good use of whatever’s to hand to put you in your place – whether that be on a repair bench or flat out on the floor.

As you might gather though, with a name like his, one of his tools is a high-voltage appliance (defibrillator) used to resuscitate the fallen in the worst case scenario. This doubles quite nicely as a taser, capable of putting out enough volts to take down even the heaviest hitter on the field, leaving the medic time enough to reassess the situation and get the heck out if necessary. It is, of course, non-fatal though.

In beast mode, Jumpstart is capable of leaping anything up to 30 feet / 10 metres in a single bound and packs a mean kick, known on occasion to puncture plate armour and shatter the tensile struts of those unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of it. His tail can hit with equal force. In very close quarters, he's more likely to defend himself with teeth and claws, causing as much damage as is necessary to incapacitate his attacker before making a break for it.

Weaknesses: Jumpstart is no youngster and it shows. Despite his alt-mode being taken from a desert dwelling animal, the mech himself cannot tolerate extremes of heat and has been known to break down when the going gets too hot for him. The vorns have taken their toll too, meaning that Jumpstart is sadly starting to show the signs of Neural Pathway Degradation (senility). This typically manifests as lapses in his short term memory and occassional irrational moodswings.

He also has quite a nasty habit of over-estimating his own capabilities in a fight against a larger foe, believing himself to be just as capable as he was in his prime and thus becoming an unwitting casualty of the fray. He also has a weakness for ‘fine-looking’ femmes and high-grade energon and has landed himself in trouble on more than one occasion when combining the two.

NAME:Crosshare
ALLEGIANCE:Maximal
FUNCTION:Scout
ALTERNATE MODE:Black-Tailed Jackrabbit
HEIGHT:5 Feet/1.5 Meters
QUOTE: Combat's all about staring your opponent straight in the optic...from two miles away through the lens of a scope attached to a high powered rifle.

STRENGTH:5
INTELLIGENCE:6
SPEED:8
ENDURANCE:3
RANK: 3
COURAGE:5
FIREPOWER:7
SKILL:8

BIO:A happy go lucky sort of bot, it strikes many odd that someone like Crosshare would take the job of a sniper a position most believe to require a certain amount of cold bloodedness. The truth behind it is far more simple. Crosshare considers himself to fragile to survive close range encounters with rouge Predacon's and hostile alien lifeforms and would be more valuable as long range support for his comrades. And the fact that he's a bit of a coward helped his decision making process along quite nicly.

Crosshare signed up as a scout for the joint human/Maximal colonisation project, thinking it would be farless stressful than the military. Unfortunatly with both Zeta colonies stranded on the same planet as a Predacon ship and cut off from Cybertron, it's proving to be a nightmare for him, constantly fearing for the day the tension between the two parties reaches the breaking point and war begins. Usually seen in the messhall during his down time.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:Carries Electron Sniper rifle for long range engament. In advent of close encounter with an unfriendly, weilds a plasma blaster that's usually sufficient at deturing foes long enough for a quick get away. His optics have been modified for nightvision and his sensitive audio receptors can pick up a twig snapping from half a mile away. In beast mode, can leap twenty feet (6 meters) into the air and deliver a powerful back kick

WEAKNESSES:Again, Crosshare isn't the bravest of Maximals and scares easily if snuck up on which is not easy task. His weak armor makes him vulnerable to most weapons and does not far well in hand to hand combat. Not very strong willed and can be bullied into doing things he wouldn't normally do by the less noble members of the Maximals. Often thinks with his stomach than his brain first.

SKILL: 6

BIO:
From the time he was first brought online Ravager was a soldier and will remain one until he is offline. Originally a foot soldier during the closing parts of the Great War Ravager had earned his name in combat against Decepticons. Long after being reformatted into a Maximal Ravager had to take a job as a military security officer. Despite knowing that Cybertron was in an era when bots like him weren’t needed as much he knew that there would always be a place for a determined hardworking bot, be it on a battlefield or a base security office.

When Ravager had learned of a colonization expedition he enlisted believing this would be a great opportunity to visit worlds. Well visit without having the main objective of blasting enemy bots to the Pit. Little did he know the expedition would go in a unprecedented direction.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:
In this beast form his weapons consist of several large spike blades on his limbs and body. Despite them being mainly for bark harvesting they make very good melee weapons able to slice through another beastie like nothing. He has three on his head going down his neck, three on his arms (on at the wrist, elbow and upper arm), one on either shoulder, one on either knee, and three on the end of the tail. Not to mention the sharp claws and the falcon beak.

In robot mode he retains the spike blades on his arms and knees. Those combined with his knowledge of hand to hand combat make for a brawler you don’t want to meet. His beast mode head becomes a shield and the tail becomes a flail weapon. He also has a double barreled blaster that pops up out of his forearm that fires high powered blasts. Lastly he has a Cybertronian semi-automatic hand blaster.

WEAKNESSES:
In beast mode: His size makes it hard to navigate in tight places or to hide well. His spike blades also present a problem as they jut out enough to hinder his movement in tight places. Also despite his beast modes slender build it’s not build for speed or agility.

In robot mode: The problem with his spike blade remain in robot mode as his problem with speed and agility. Along with that his determination can also be a weakness, he may not always know just when to pack it up and retreat in battle.

HEIGHT: Robot mode: 4 feet 2 inches/ 1.27 meters | Beast mode: 3 feet 5 inches/1.0414 meters
QUOTE: “Sometimes, you get caught by unexpected circumstances, and I choose my form to prepare for those very situations. Adaptability is key to survival, which is how I choose my beast modes.”

STRENGTH: 5
INTELLIGENCE: 8
SPEED: 6
ENDURANCE: 5
RANK: 5
COURAGE: 7
FIREPOWER: 4
SKILL: 7

BIO:
Jawtrap doesn’t well recall his early days, nor mentions them. He had been made by a Predacon scientist who wanted an… Assistant, someone who could do all the less enjoyable, filthy tasks, partly murder. Also, so as to raise little suspicion, he was fully programmed with the knowledge of his creator’s trade, biology, that he would need. He had only been on one murder trip, not at all successful, that he had been made for. The complete failure of his expedition, except not being able to be successfully identified, even though there was some suspicion. After the event, they settled down, Jawtrap just doing what he was primarily built for. Collecting biological samples from planets.

He would always use these trips to locate the most deadly creature he could find, believing that the most beautiful was, in his eyes, the most well adapted killer. Jawtrap hadn’t been good at killing, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy the appearance and capability of it. Joining the Conquest expedition as a biologist, Jawtrap turned in his resignation to his current boss, whom he had started working for after the unsolved murder of his first boss, the Predacon that had built him. His exact reason for joining the expedition was his own, and it was mainly because he wanted to go help colonize a planet. Possibly be the first to discover something noteworthy, as unlikely as that was to happen. That, and that he was hoping to discover new creatures. When the expedition crashed, he was already in the process of figuring out his next form, looking for improvements over his current form, an unspecialized creature, that could adapt to many situations. He didn’t have much creativity, so he had to go by already existing creatures, any that he knew about, or researched. He finally came upon this form, which he determined to be the best he knew about, for the time. If he found another, better animal, he would get himself reformatted

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:
A high powered rifle. Half of the ammunition he carries on him is tranquilizer rounds, while the other half are the more lethal variety, mainly useful for taking down the creatures that his tranquilizer rounds will have no or little effect on. For defensive purposes, Jawtrap carries a small pistol.

WEAKNESSES:
Not the most powerful or enduring creature, under a dozen shots could easily cause complications for him, if placed correctly. Complications being heavy damage, and injured pride. Pride is another thing, as he is too concerned about his appearance to others to get one of his most important flaws fixed. A flaw caused by a nasty bump on the head, his optics malfunction from time to time. As he hasn’t even mentioned it to anyone, he has no clue what causes himself to lose sight every now and again, but can be seen hitting himself on the head, trying to get his optics back online. Also, Jawtrap is often boasting about his intellect and his speed. Sometimes, he pays more attention to that than anything else around him. When he isn’t boasting, or dodging shots, he is still busy. Thinking. He will often over think things, a large number of times really. It slows him down, and often causes him to miss the easy solutions and rush straight through, starting on sometimes the hardest and most labor-intensive way to fix an issue. He is also prone to making fun of others, and does it just to irritate the person. He does sometimes lose track of when to stop pushing the issue, and usually, this is on the battlefield.

STRENGTH: 4

ENDURANCE: 3

COURAGE: 6
FIREPOWER: 9
SKILL: 5

BIO: Streak was never understood to be a particularly reputable Maximal. He began life as a Predacon, but switched sides after a heart-to-heart with a close friend mid-battle. Due to his origins, he is not fully trusted by most of his Maximal comrades, and is kept out of heavy combat due both to his light frame as well as concerns about his loyalty, and whether or not he will switch due to pressure. Due to the mistrust surrounding him, as well as the refusal of his superiors to let him out into real battles, he is generally cynical and snarky and more than a little bored. He is generally considered to have an ‘attitude problem’ by his superiors, largely having to do with a lack of motivation.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES: Streak possesses three weapons. The first is a rapid-firing laser rifle, equipped with above-standard levels of ammunition for wild and sustained fire during close, high-intensity engagements. The second, less frequently used weapon is a small battery of highly volatile missiles located in his chest; failsafe mechanisms prevent the six warheads from going off within him when damaged, and each finds its target using a very sophisticated internal guidance system which guarantees high accuracy. Streak’s final weapon is a close-combat bladed staff he constructs via the top two wings on his back, which detach and combine together, elongating near their bases and slimming down as material near the join of the two wings withdraws into the anterior edge. When using this weapon, he will only have two wings left, which he uses to glide swiftly across the ground rather than fly acrobatically, as is normally his wont. Streak’s greatest asset in battle is his great speed and skill. He cannot take much damage, but he can deal it out quickly and brutally, making him a lethal opponent in a surprise attack.

WEAKNESSES: Streak’s chassis is thin and lightly armored, making him unable to sustain as much damage as most Maximals. His most powerful weapon, the missiles in his chest, are limited in number, and while they are very powerful and almost impossible to escape, he can’t fire them without getting rid of his primary trump-card. Furthermore, the missiles are unpredictable before they acquire their target, meaning that Streak cannot safely employ them if he is moving at full speed and dodging enemy projectiles himself.

**Note: Streak won't be possessed by any alien intelligences this time around.**

BIO:Within Cybertronian culture, the birth of twins is quite rare. What is even rarer is for the set of twins to be born with such totally different personalities; one Together masculine, and the other feminine. After all, in these cases a spark usually splits at the moment of creation, so they are almost always of similar fames of mind. Not so with the case of Havoc and Amity. Not only were they different for twins, they did not completely split into two different sparks! There was a thin line between them that the medics did not dare to cut, as they feared doing so would destroy both the young sparks. So they created a new body for the "twins" with the use of triple-changer technology. There would be three different forms; two different bot modes and an alt mode to share between them. What the medics failed to realize was the psychology impact this would have on the twins. It soon became clear that they were not socially balance; both quickly took to using violence in different ways against their caretakers.

In fact, Amity and Havoc were not actually named until the Predacon raided the clinic that they were forced to live in due to their nature. The twins were sill young, and the Predacons failed to understand exactly what they had captured, as Havoc was the stronger of the two and in control at the time. Amity soon showed herself to them, and that is when the Predacons realized that they had something truly unique in their hands. The twins soon signed themselves up to the Predacon cause, and found their skills to be useful in a variety of battle conditions; something they very quickly found they both enjoyed.

That pretty much took to causing their current problem. They were a little too battle happy and the high command, though not wanting to waste the potential in the twin. If Amity and Havoc continue onwards with their trouble-making, they fear that all their work would be uncover. So, they 'assigned' them to the colony crew. Maybe being off world was what they needed. Once calm down, they might be the warriors the Predacons need them to be.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:The main thing to focus on with these two is that they are siblings living inside of one body. Depending on the strongest one at a given moment, one or the other is in control of main of the body. The small frame has three different forms that it could take: there is their alt mode, and than a mech body and a femme one. Due to the lack of room for three forms in one body, both the mech and femme forms lack strong armor, but make up for it with high levels of speed, agility, and dexterity.

Taking his name to spark, Havoc's style of fighting and choice in weapons is anything that will instill chaos and take out the greatest number of Maximals in a single shot. Taking control of the mech form, he is equipped with a collection of grenades that deliver two different kinds of blasts; one is the simple explosive, and the other, his personal favorite, is equipped with shrapnel. After all, if the blast doesn't kill them, a bit of shrapnel can often do the job. He is also equipped with a laser gun capable of delivering multiple shots simultaneously.

Amity’s style is more silent and deadly. Using her small and light femme frame, she sticks to the shadows and darkness with great ease. She could probably be a great assassin if her brother would stop taking hold of the body. The femme is armed with numerous blades, each with a different length and purpose. The small ones are for throwing at a distance, often delivering quick kills thanks to her excellent aim. The mediums ones are great for use during hand to hand combat and she needs to finish a fight; simply pull one of them out and stab her foe for the kill. The only really long ones she has is a pair of custom made swords that even her brother will not use. She herself would only use them in battle against a foe that she believes is truly worth or them. In addition, Amity is equipped with a small laser gun that she rarely ever uses.

WEAKNESSES:Due to their nature, they are both quite unstable. Even Amity, the calmer out of the two, has her issues. It is difficult for anyone to count on them as they could quickly switch between Havoc to Amity to back again, the two major different personality requiring different approaches to dealing with them. There is also the issue that whoever is in control of the body, will see their sibling real as life next to them. This often leads to them having heated conversations to empty air, thinking that their sibling is actually standing there. In battle, this tends causes problems as one will often believe that the other is backing them up....a physical impossibility.
