BIO:Recoil is one of the few remaining former Decepticon snipers left over from the war. He's shot more bots on the field than he'll ever divulge, mostly because he would have to explain the allied casualties. He's a cold, calculating, and completely sadistic killer down to the depths of his spark. He was renown for his cruelty on the battlefield, crippling his prey in the hopes of luring additional targets into his scope.
He took pride in every shot, and pleasure in every kill. Bait kills only enhanced the thrill he felt, but he rarely brags of these moments. He's slightly paranoid other bots are trying to steal his techniques, and only after someone has proven they aren't complete scrap will he consider sharing in his hunts.
If pressed, he'll tell of his favorite hunt. It was during the final days of the war, and he and his one and only partner had managed to locate an Autobot engineering unit. Pointstrike, his partner, took the first shot, and killed one of the engineers as he was probing for mines. Recoil lamented at the waste of a perfectly good piece of bait and crippled two other bots in succession, leaving them to cry and plead for help in the field. Pointstrike had learned from other 'cons that taking a kill from Recoil would earn you a bullet to your spark chamber before you could reload.
Knowing this, he left the bots to moan on the minefield. They waited, and occasionally took a shot or two to remind the Autobots of their presence, for two days. He could see some of the bots hiding behind their tiny bits of cover, and felt a wondrous joy at knowing he had complete control of their fates.
In the middle of his rather successful hunt, the ceasefire was signed between the rivaling factions of bots. Instead of simply retreating like he was told, he shot the bots on the field, and on the way back to base, brutally murdered Pointstrike by shooting him in the back, then rigging a grenade to dispose of the body.
He wiped his former name from the records, and when the great upgrade was offered, he decided he liked the energy efficiency, if for no other reason than to allow him to hunt for longer. The peaceful life of Cybertron was beginning to get to him when he heard of the Conquest mission. Figuring it would be the perfect chance to keep his skills sharp, he immediately hit the recruitment offices.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES:Recoil's favorite weapon is a unique system he had constructed specifically for him. The weapon is rather large, warranting storage in his tail. His sniper cannon is a hybrid system that fires energized 30mm slugs at ultrasonic velocities. A modification made to his transformation turns his beast mode's arms into his bot form's legs, and anchors to assist in recoil control when he fires his cannon.
Few types of armor are capable of withstanding more than a round, and most of the lightly armored bots will simply lose a limb when hit. He also carries a smaller electron rifle if someone manages to close on him, as well as a pair of simple swords should he for some unknown reason end up in hand to hand combat.
He has also been known to carry a camo net and a gilly suit with him, and he carries a small variety of explosives to use as traps to guard his back. His scope is capable of zooming to nearly a mile an a half to hit a human sized target. His greatest strength comes from his endurance. As long as he doesn't move, he can operate for days without recharging or eating.
WEAKNESSES:Recoil's main weakness is actually the sheer size of his new body. He also has to be extremely careful where he sets up, and has to be sure his tail isn't going to give away his position. He is also not very skilled in melee combat, nor is he armored enough to take more than a hit or two, despite his appearance.
When in his alt mode, he is unable to utilize his weapons, because his hands are too large to fit in the trigger guard. Plus, he can't sync his sighting systems with his optics, making every shot more likely to miss. The servos in his beast mode arms also lack the micrometer precision he requires to make his shots.
His transformation is somewhat strange, seeing as his arms become his legs, and rather effective anchors used to help control the kick on his massive cannon. If he is unable to anchor his upper torso, his rate of fire is crippled, and if he attempts to shoot quickly, he could end up damaging himself.
He is also slightly paranoid, and thinks everyone wants to "steal" his hunting tricks. He also hates it when someone manages to close range with him, for any reason. He only barely tolerates his fellow Predacons walking up to him, but he takes pains to be nearly invisible when sniping. He is also somewhat slow to set up his position, partially because he likes to be undetectable. This allows him to watch longer, this can be a double edged sword.
