The Boarding House started out as a simple idea. It was to be a place for safety. A place where mutants who were running from the government, GSA, or Genomex could go and find protection. It was also a place where mutants who had no control over their powers could come and learn control.

Parker was definately not a scientist. He couldn't do what Adam had done for Mutant X. But he built The Boarding House as a means to find himself happiness and protection for his family. It quickly became a place for other mutants. It grew into something rather large.

Now The Boarding House had been expanded to accomodate many different mutants and their different needs. It had become too large for Parker to handle all by himself. Not quite twenty years ago Genomex had started something they couldn't finish. They were producing so many different projects that they couldn't keep up with it. Foreign countries got their hands on the mutant gengineering and pretty soon every country had their own brand of super soldier. The Boarding House started having strangers knocking at every turn. That is when all of the building started.

The government took over where Genomex couldn't clean up their mess anymore. Now any mutant caught using their powers for something other than government business were being tagged and monitored. They are to report every so often to a local Mutant Registrar just as you would to your parole officer. Some mutants are lucky enough to blend in. Others like the reptilian feral don't get that ability and are immediately entered into the program.

With the past twenty years though the war has taken its toll. Parker had once upon a time served as an honorary fifth member to Mutant X on a few of its missions. As they grew older Parker let Katya the daughter he had with Natlya assume a similar position of honor with them on one of their last missions. Something went wrong and none of them ever came back. It is reported that there was a rather horrible explosion and that everyone inside died. To this day Mutant X hasn't returned.

After that Parker assembled his own team. The Boarding House though rather large is hidden under a corporation's name. They own the property it lies on completely so no government can march in and take it over without due cause. Within the walls of The Boarding House there are different levels of clearance based on how much you know and how much you are clued into some of its other dealings. The highest level of clearance is Parker's Team itself.

Over the years they have become battle scarred. It is time of them to look to the newer, younger groups inside the walls of the house to find a new team. A junior team that can be an added task force for when it is needed.

I am also adding some other side RPs to the board. For instance there will now be a Roswell RP coming up. I am looking to get a bunch of different television, movie, and even novel based RPs up on the board. Nothing as mainstream or important as the main Underground-spin off RP but at least it is something to have fun with other than the main RP when you are stuck.

The Pantheon



The Pantheon is a Mutant X based RP. It is actually a spin-off of another board called The Underground. It is a board that takes the Mutant X world into the future. This is a future where mutants are more numerous than they were during the series. It also takes us to a future where the government has lost some of its control and is trying to take it back. The public now knows about mutants, as does other countries.

It is a time of open war in the streets. Mutants vs. human. It is one of the most sophisticated wars ever as well. Mutants under the constitution have the right to be alive and live their lives as normally as possible. At the same time the government and the public are scared of what mutants will become. So different organizations have cropped up that are working on the mutant threat. They are experimenting again, coming up with new versions of mutant. Mutants are now being used as hounds to detect and ensnare other mutants. Finally, those that do not cooperate with the government to become owned weapons or lab rats get sent to prisons and camps where they are dealt with in other ways. Needless to say that these mutants are all going missing. Other countries are also picking up mutants from around the globe for black market trade. Mutants have become the new government weapons of mass destruction.

There are several teams that have cropped up in the wake of this war. Mutant X except for one newer member is believed to be dead. It will soon be found that some members are still alive. These other teams are starting to come out of the wood work. They all have different missions yet one common thread. They are trying to survive and help other mutants survive as well.



Longevity
This board has been around for almost two years now. We have gone through a few different plot lines already and are on our fourth mission. New teams have been opened up within the world and there are plenty of places to jump into the plot at this point.

Makeover
Please be patient with the look of the board. While we are very active with posting and the accepting of new members, we are taking our time with redoing the look of the board. You will see changes being made slowly to get the board exactly to our liking. During this time we have no limit to how many characters a member can take. Usually we require them to have only two or three. However, right now we are allowing as many characters as you can create, so long as you can keep them fun and original and find a good place to stick them into the story.

New and expanding powers list
With the evolution of time (and the help of a few scientists) some different powers have cropped up into the world. Scientists have been working round the clock trying to harness old and new mutant powers. They hope to be able to find powers that will give them the ultimate weapons in the war against mutants. Countries are also trying to get their hands on these weapons to make war with each other. Time also has played a hand at the expansion of what powers are available. A new class of powers has entered the world: Alphas. These are people that have naturally seen their powers evolve into a class beyond what is normally found within a certain power type. These lists are slowly growing but if you have ideas they are always welcome.

The War Diaries
In the War Diaries section of the board, you will find not only our powers list but also a running encyclopedia of different topics that are important to the board. Our goal is to make it easier for people to join the plots by knowing about different items that are unique to the board. This is a section that is always being made over as well. If you have a topic you have questions on and would like to see up, please let us know.

Finally, one of the other positive aspects of the board is the ability for you to build your character. They are exactly who you want them to be. Find your niche in the world. We look for players who can build a character with many levels of emotion, not just fighting, getting hurt, or pairing up with another character. We are looking forward to people who understand that even in this world where there is good and evil... that nothing is ever truly that black and white.
