Mission 19

SHORT RECAP: No time jump, everyone is right where they were. The Strand is on there way to there HQ after setting a building on fire, Sage and Puck had discovered that there is a government agency hunting and murdering Mutants, with the law behind them, and Natasha and Kevin are in Safe Haven's Car Port. The group in North Korea are in more trouble the they can handle...

Safe Haven

*Click*....Click?.....Click?....Sage had hung up on her.

"BITCH!" Natasha took her phone and hurled it at the wall letting it shatter into 15 different parts. Sage was out of her blond feral mind! Worse, there was not a damn person at Safe Haven who knew how to trace the damn cell signal.

Natasha looked at Kevin. "I've had a bad day." Not that it was his fault. Tash knew it, but still. She vented to Kevin. "The Strand is back up, Sage is going locoer, I have people missing, and now the government has been executing mutants in mass numbers....History is repeating it's self and no one gives a damn."

Safe haven

Kevin sighed. By the sounds of it things were just escalating worse and worse and no one was stopping the spiral of madness. Least, no one other than themselves. They needed to find a way to stop both the Strand and avoid getting rounded up by whatever agency that now wanted all mutants dead or tagged for research. Like animals.

No use dwelling on what will be or what may be. Focus on the task at hand and deal with that! The Strand is causing trouble, stop them you deal with a mentality that mutants use their powers for worse rather than good! He scolded himself. True enough as it was, the difficult thing was doing exactly that.

"Tasha, calm down.| He said letting his words sink in for a fraction of a second before continuing so not to let her start.

"People give a damn, it's just not the people we want to have. It's us and we need to deal with the problem. Now what's up with the Strand being back? I thought ever Since Ashlocke died they were removed." He asked trying to figure out facts he needed to know so he could help her figure things out.

Safe Haven

"No, someone started it back. His name is Lev and he is just as out of his mind." Natasha answered and sat down on the floor where she was, leaning against the wall. "I don't know where you've been Kevin, but things has changed. I can't take it all in. I was built, trained and taught to go after the target, until it was distoryed. But there is so many targets, and so many goals...." Natasha looked up at Kevin. "I don't even know who the targets are."

well isn't that mindless... Kevin thought to himself. Trained to attack chase, beat down till there was nothing left and then wait for the next one. His job to triage then.

He sat down next to her and looked at her.
"Look. Humans are after mutants and want us dead for pretty good reasons considering some aggressive mutants out there. If they all unite. And they will with the Strand, then we're in deep trouble. We need to stop the Strand. That's our target. We deal with the Strand and then we'll have less to worry about in terms of public acts of Power."

Safe Haven

"Humans have a new group out, they are targeting, hunting down and a murdering Mutants in mass numbers. Sage is the only one who knows who and were she is has disappeared on me. Rain as gone, I don't know where, and I don't know why." Natasha looked over at him. "If we are going after the stand, we need to do it hard and we need to it fast...and you need to know...Kevin, one of the ferals on his team....is like me. He's a Project. He will hard to next to impossible to stop."

"I don't know if I can fight him....If I can kill one of my own when we're the last."

She didn't need doubts but he wasn't going to lie to her either. Killing another one like herself wasn't something he could fathom. He guessed it'd be close to killing a sibling. Something he would not like to do nor would he if he had another choice. A Choice they'd deal with when it came.

"That's something we'll deal with when it happens. Look, we may very well manage to deal with this without anyone getting killed. The Humans need to find us first and we're a lot better at hiding than even we think we are. As for the other...project. Hopefully he has as much moral trouble attacking you as you do him." he said optimistically.

Optimism...what little he had left to grasp on. It would have to be enough...

Outside Burning building

Darn! Pyro missed a wet t-shirt contest? That was certainly dissapointing. He wasn't surprised she won....not surprised at all. He was about to comment on that when he heard Lev yell for everyone to go back to the Strand headquarters...everyone who was still with him. That definitely included him, but he wasn't sure about Emery here. He wasn't going to wait around and find out. He started heading towards his destination. "Hey! You coming or not?" He called to him...still walking as he shouted out the question.


Safe Haven

She took a step closer to him and lightly shook her head. "I don't know who she is, or what happened, but if you could have done anything for her, you would have. From what I've seen, its the kind of person you are," she told him with a small smile, already having seen him with her own eyes save someone's life. It was a fair assumption to make. Or so she felt it was.

"Don't blame yourself. You're still not fully recovered from the last woman you saved...you didn't have a choice."

Safe Haven

"Kevin, when I said can't....I meant it. I can't allow him hurt, or in danger. We can build a plan to end the strand, by there lives if need be even while I hope it will not come to that, but I will make sure, he is miles away. I want a standing order to go out, that none of my team here goes near him. I will not risk him or us."

"As for the strand. I know there names and powers, we need to know weaknesses, we need to know addresses, birthdays, closes of kin. I want to know where to hit them and how hard so that they fall fast and with little damage to out siders as possible."

"Have you keep up your training, and skills since you have been gone? I have a feeling, we're going to need it...being you might be all I have left right now."

"My absence has had no affect on my ability to fight" He said quickly and reassuringly. And he wasn't lying. He hadn't felt more confident in his abilities in a long time. More so in his feral abilities. But that was not important. Important was their task.

"I'm sure the data base has some information on at least some of the Strand Members. If they just re-emerged, they were probably underground and in the database. We can start there. If you say we don't touch this guy We don't. I'll make sure of that. We maybe limited in capable personnel anyways so it may very well be just you and me. Meaning we'll have to do this smartly." He said starting to think out what could be done. With Sage off somewhere and Rain gone, there were very few people left to call on for this. Even less who would be willing to go and hit family.

Was he coming? That was the question that Emery had to figure out. But at the moment as he looked around him he wondered what other choice he had. Natasha had already rode off into the sunset with her errand boy who came to fetch her and now Lev was taking off. Emery knew that he wasnt going to stick around and wait for the television cameras to show up. He may look completely different now than he did at genomex but he wouldnt take the risk that any of his features could be recognized and have someone start looking for him again. That seemed to leave him only one choice.

"Yeah, I'm coming..." Emery said as he started following after Pyro.

"Thank you for saying that" Finn told her as he took a few deep breaths trying to compose himself. He wasnt going to argue with her but he felt like he could have done more, that he should have done more. If he had just walked over to the girls bed, even weak, maybe he could have helped her enough that he could have saved her life.

"How are you holding up here? Not what you expected today I'm sure"

"I agree, for now, it should stay between you and I." Natasha leaned her head against the wall. She didn't like his answer. Not one damn bit. However, she reminded her self that she trusted Kevin. She could trust him. Natasha's head came up and her noise twitched. "It's Maddy. She's human, but works here as a doctor."

Maddy heard voices, they were to hushed to make out what was said, but as she got closer she reconiged one voice. Natasha's. The other's was male and unknown to her. She walked into the Car Port. "H-hello" She gave a small wave and wondered if she should back away. "I...I umm wanted to let you know that the guy who healed you, is in there...awake..."

Safe Haven

Natasha watched Maddy but spoke to Kevin. "There was a mutant who healed me, I need to speak with him soon...I don't know what he took from me when he healed me and it could be dangerous for him." To Maddy she spoke louder so Maddy could hear from the other side of the room. "This is Kevin, he's my right hand guy. You will do as he says while you live here. "

Safe Haven

Kevin looked at the woman who had walked in. He had definitely missed some newcomers while he was gone. Not an overly important thing.
Curious as he was as to why she was injured so badly she needed healing beyond that of her own and medical bays abilities, he kept the question from being asked. Another irrelevant piece of information at the moment.

He gave a nod to Maddy to acknowledge her when Tasha mentioned her name

"So I guess you're off to see him then?" He asked her.

Safe Haven

"I need to but, I think I will sit there and think for a bit. So much has happened, so fast. I can't even think of think I need to do." Natasha admitted. She needed to sleep. She knew she did, once awake she would think clearer. "I need a new cell phone." Natasha thought that was funny. She laughed in a slightly 'I've lost it way before looking at the differently parts of her phone on the floor. "Nice bike by the way. You own it?" She said of the bike Kevin had been riding.

"I can hear that..." Puck said glaring at the phone for a moment.

Sage was avoiding eye contact. Puck was busy giving her a slightly concerned/slightly curious look. She was acting too random to judge well, and Puck was just trying to follow along as best he could. Tasha wasn't going to be happy about the phone call Sage just gave her. Finally deciding to speak Puck kept it simple. "Umm... so, should we go see them? They nearby? More importantly how much can we trust them?"

Car

"We can trust him. I'm gonna call him and see where he is. And remember...what happened... it's between me and you." That being said, she dialed Jesse's number. She could deal with seeing him; he was far enough removed from it all. It was the others... Sage just focused on the the ringing sound, hoping Jesse would pick up quickly.
