As the enigmatic leader of the organization known simply as ‘The Bureau,”
Moriarty has been around for quite some time. Brilliant, eloquent, passionate,
and determined, he paints a pretty picture. There isn’t a doubt in anyone’s mind
why he has held the lofty position for so long. Many say that the Bureau would have,
and still might crumble and fall into ruin without his diligence—and they are probably right.
The trouble with “The Force,” a vigilante group which is the Bureau’s dark half,
threatens all that Moriarty and the bureau have worked for in the years. The real shocker
is that one of his former students, and former right-hand man of the Bureau, Montague,
is behind the violence and chaos. Gods only knew how he would have fallen apart,
had Gallagher not been there to share the heavy mantle that is leadership.

He has begun to silently and inconspicuously undermine Montague in the eyes of his men as he dreams of the future. It is also rumored that he has been seeing quite a great deal of Moriarty’s old flame, Prince. Whether he is pumping her for information, or Gods forbid, actually interested in her, only time will tell.

Massri believes that the two worlds which crowd a single city can live in peace—as long as the fabrics of reality do not brush; mortals with the mortals, immortals with the monster. This, of course, has incited many arguments with Moriarty, who believes that the two should be joined, rather than hidden from one another. Yet, despite all their bickering the two are as close of friends as the situation allows. The business with The Force, as well as the immortal killer (Sangre) has Massri concerned for the safety of his city, and when Massri is concerned, people generally end up dead--or worse.

Perhaps not the most powerful of CURRENCYkings, Falkner is still a force to be reckoned with. This suave, convincing, and calculating creature has seen the rise and fall of American enterprise. He had lead the economic march in the wartime boom, and sipped champagne in overprice penthouse suites during the Great Depression. The suffering of man means nothing to him, and nor does the plight of the supernatural. Money is an object that fuels the green greed which sustains him. His current exploits with Deleon and Valencia promise to be profitable, and though the two believe that the three are equal-share partners, it is truly Faulkner that controls the strings.

Cerny likes to cause trouble. He also likes to be praised. Tales of his infamous deeds have been told over the ages, both in story and song. Perhaps not as weak as most forgotten Gods, he still is quite the greedy, little bastard. Always wanting more and never satisfied with the way things happen to be at the time, he sees potential in Professor Johnson that he has not witnessed in years. Here is a mortal gifted and compelling enough to restore a bit of that old, Cerny glory. And so, with the help of an old friend, Ferro, who has just as much to gain as he, he begins to plot his triumphant return. And to even make events more enticing is the delectable little morsel that Johnson is never far from. Hamilton is a pretty little thing, and Cerny has always been an admirer and a destroyer of beauty.

Representative of his country's gods, Brady is what many refer to as a social butterfly. He may not be the most intellectual of his brethren, but he is the most likeable. Generally he is empathetic to the plight of mortals; however, this business with the Force has the Supernatural World in an uproar. He may not be calling for blood retribution quite yet, but there is a limit to even his patience. This serial-killing God also has his people fearing for their immortal lives, and he has pledged the help of his people with any and every investigation the Bureau requires assistance with Sangre’s capture.

Not necessarily cruel, but never what you’d call nice, Megalos is all about justice. An eye for an eye, blood for blood, and favor for favor, she follows debts and wrongings with meticulous care. Perhaps this is why her people selected her to represent them on the floor—they wanted to be assured that they wouldn’t get shafted in any sort of deal. Megalos is all for retribution when it comes to the actions of the force. She calls for the blood of those who have spilled divine and supernatural blood—even if it means parting the veil and bring the supernatural world into the mortal realms. She too, has pledged her people’s help in the capture of the rouge God (Sangre) though she, not surprisingly, demands his head as well.

Sensual, mysterious, and maybe even a little bit bitchy, Chu possesses views that sum the opinions of her people up perfectly: “Fuck you. Not our problem. Leave us out of it.” Aid of the oriental deities could greatly help the Bureau in any sort of endeavor, for the ancient, exotic magicks always have a means to an end. However, things rarely concern them, and Sangre nor the force has yet to impact their community, so they keep all others within an arms length. However, given the right persuasions, favors, and promises, Chu can occasionally be persuaded to lend a helping hand, and when she does, she is steadfast ally to have. The woman is in it to win it.

Brash, bold, and possessing a sex drive that is, well, barbaric, Ostberg seems to be your typical, garden-variety Nordic God. However, he possesses a cunning mind, and after a heated conversation, it is easy to tell that the wheels are ever-turning. A story-teller and an speaker, his words have a way to capture an audience and make them his. He and Derwent have a strange relationship—two parts friendship, one part rivalry. In general, he is rather neutral when it comes to the chaos of supernatural politics. Though he’s got his people’s best interest in mind, he is not opposed to occasionally lending aid to another cause that does not concern him. Like his people, he loves adventure and thrilling situations—they make for excellent drinking stories later on.

She has recently been stirring up trouble with the new Gods, spreading discord and irritation. She wants the old gods with their old ways and tributes gone. As far as she sees it, their time is over. They are a dying breed, and like any dying animal they need to be put down and quickly and efficiently as possible. She has been known to divulge a few facts and faces to the Force in exchange for a little immunity. Nothing is beneath her ambitious standards and that is what makes her a dangerous enemy.

Recently, he has come out onto the market with a new drug which targets weaker gods and deities, giving them that certain rush that can only come with praise and worship. Collecting favors, information, and magical trinkets, he is making a killing off of his new invention. So why would he ever want them wiped off of the earth? With his ear so low to the ground, there is very little that he does not know, making him an excellent source of information—when you are desperate enough for answers that generally come with a steep price.

This could be why, until now, the Force, as well as other things that go “bump in the night” have given the wolves wide berth. And yet, through it all, the lycan has not lost his sense of humor. Famous for his infectious laugh and sparkling wit, he and his pack are an enjoyable lot if you catch them in the right moments. Fiercely loyal, if Kimbrough sees merit in your cause, you can bet he will back you, one hundred and twenty-two percent. However, harm or endanger his close-knit pack in any sort of way, and the Alpha will make sure that not even the Bureau, with all their magic and methods, could identify your mutilated carcass.

As a creature of the night, Deleon could never be a perfectly law-abiding citizen. However, the antics which he has found himself in are a bit serious, even for a timeless creature such as he. Deleon is enthralled with her—her voice, her face, her misery—all of it. He does not trust Faulkner nearly as much as she, but will gladly do whatever it is that she desires. However, will such erratic, love-struck behavior prove to be his downfall?

A singer by trade, she met Deleon after a show through a mutual friend (and admirer) subconsciously, she is aware of his unspoken love, and while she may or may not return such feelings, it is obvious that she exploits them. After all, it is Deleon that she dragged with her into the business with Faulkner. She is intrigued and attracted by Faulkner’s cold, unfeeling, aloof demeanor—perhaps because it is a persona she greatly desires for herself.

An old soul, but a new face, Rivera’s first assignment is that of the Faulkner Case, as the boys back in the office like to call it. As a nymph, her femininity is her downfall, for though she does not grow sick nor age, she is susceptible to physical attack. However, with her considerable control over the element of water, and a knack for cutting through the bullshit, The Bureau believes that she will be a fine addition to the special tasks force. However, only time will tell.

Moody, temperamental, and possessing a serious attitude problem del Fuego could easily pass as some testosterone-laden man. However, as timeless as he is brooding, del Fuego is so much more. A fire demon of high standing, the immortal has rarely called any man his master. One can only imagine his dismay and irritation when he meets the witch, Sotelo. Now he’s being forced to reevaluate some standards that are older than several civilizations. There’s sexual and hostile tension between the two—but he is, after all, a full-blood fire demon, and that is to be expected. It’s an unlikely alliance, but the hothead is adapting quite nicely. He does not care for the meddling of Chartreuse or Ramon and he is thinking it is high time that they be dealt with.

However, when Sotelo begins messing with some serious mojo and inadvertently summons del Fuego, things get serious for the Pixie. She’s seeking out the Bureau, before the Force, or a certain dark, unnamed figure finds them first. Recently, she has begun to notice Ramon sniffing about—though he does not seem nearly as hostile as del Fuego. She is toying with the idea of recruiting him for her own needs.

One of the last, and probably the greatest of her kind, she is the best at what she does. Currently she is working with Cerny on another of his little projects. If her cold heart was capable of love for another, it would be for that God. His chaos and his cleverness are like an aphrodisiac. Lately, she has noticed his attention shifting ever so slightly from Johnson, to his student, Hamilton, and this stirs up many wild and vengeful emotions. She wants the girl dead—before Cerny can have his fun.

However, when Deleon, Valencia, and Faulkner attempt to scam her, they invoke an anger that is both terrifying and awesome to behold. Mother nature is pissed, and headed straight for the Bureau to complain. And who do they send to help? Some wet-behind-the-ears water nymph? Though a far better lover than a fighter, she feels it is everyone’s best interest if she helps Rivera out.

She idolizes Moriarty, and perhaps, in her own way, loves him. One thing is for certain, however—this Killer God (Sangre), the growing Force, and the discontent, anger, and fear in the Supernatural world is too much for even someone as capable as she, to handle alone. She needs her mentor, and it is because of that reason that she, more than anyone, is trying to shake him from his apparent slump.

Cunning, ruthless, and rather debonair, Montague both funds and heads the extremist group known as “The Force.” Like his former teacher, Moriarty, Montague sees the strange and unexplainable as plainly as the nose on his face. However, he is repulsed and fascinated—drawn by the dark and the wicked, he has seen the worst of the world. For a while, he worked side-by-side with Moriarty, and many assumed that he would be the one to take up his mentor’s mantle. Yet, several key disagreements in philosophy lead to a series of heated arguments. Punches were thrown and unforgiveable words were uttered, and in the end, Montague left the Bureau for good. Rather fancying himself as a crusader of mankind, he and those who share in his ideals are dead-set on purging the world of unnatural entities by any and all means.

Quite ambitious, she has used her wiles and her wits to climb the press ladder until she could claim the prestigious title of Editor & Chief of the city’s leading paper—“The Chronicle.” She had met Moriarty as a reporter several years ago, and despite the apparent (and not so apparent) age difference, the two hit it off quite well. Fast forward several years later, and Moriarty showed no genuine interest in slowing down and starting a family. Though no stranger to ambition, Prince leaves the crumbling relationship (much to Moriarty’s dismay) and begins, rumor has it, to see quite a great deal of Jones.

And the things the good Professor saw answered many questions and instilled within him a thirst for knowledge that could not be slaked. He sees the same burning curiosity in Hamilton, one of his students, which might account for the romance that soon ensued. However, curiosity has been known to kill the cat, and how long is it before the Johnson finds himself in over his head. And will he, in his blind fervor, drag Hamilton into his sordid dealings?

She ,too, has a great (and formerly secret--until recently) interest in the occult and spiritualism of different cultures. Hers is a pure curiosity—neither all-consuming like Johnson’s, or self-aggrandizing, like Stoelo’s. However, that scholarly purity may not be enough to save her from the forces that have begun to take interest in the Professor and his work.

The epitome of calm, cool, and well, bad-ass, it’s no wonder why Saffold is a favorite field operative for the Force. While things may still surprise him—they don’t scare him, and that, in itself, is a key factor. He owns a small, independent record store in the SoHo area, and could damn-near talk your ear off when it comes to music or monsters. Having lost someone very important to him to the creatures of the supernatural world, he takes his business with the Force quite seriously—maybe too seriously. His current assignment is the Faulkner Case. Montague has warned him that the God may be a bit much, even for him, but Deleonand Valencia are open game.

Ramon as always felt the pull of the supernatural world. It hangs in his peripheral, lying over the fabrics of his reality like some dark, alluring shadow. He and Stoelo have been sleeping together for several months, both attracted to the strange darkness the other permeates. Though he knew of Stoelo’s wiccan pastimes, it was something he never took quite seriously—it all seemed like fumbling in the dark, compared to the things he saw. However, when he witnesses the summoning of del Fuego his opinions begin to change. No longer the apple of his lover’s eye, he takes note of the growing bond between the immortal and the witch—even if they do not. One thing is for certain, though—Chartreuse, one of the upper echelons in the coven, is acting odd, and it is obvious to Ramon that she is up to something. Now, whether to help her and somehow reclaim Stoelo from her constant fiery companion, or somehow figure out how to exploit the demon’s power for himself, he has yet to decide.

Cute, in an oblivious sort of way, Cole just wanted to find a suitable pad for city-living. What he got, however, was a supposed haunting. After being shaken up and cleaned out by the efficient team of Deleon, Valencia, and Faulkner , the musician is a little perplexed. He mentions it in passing to Saffold, his employer at a record store downtown, and the man actually takes him seriously. Saffold takes the young boy under his all-knowing wing, and Cole’s eye are about to be opened to an entirely different City.

Fox could always see things that others could not. Visions of the past, present, and future plague him constantly. This, of course, is exactly why the Bureau often seeks his services when they reach a dead end in their cases. What he receives, in return, is protection and a whole lot of medication. After all, collapsing in the middle of the street after being assaulted by The Sight is no way to meet people. Of late, his dreams have been filled of blood, pain, and one very dark and looming figure. It, for lack of a better phrase, has scared him shitless. He alone holds the key to Sangre’s capture. Unfortunately, the dark God has become aware of such a fact, as well.

A lawyer with an eloquent tongue, Derwent’s life was all about swaying verdicts and changing lives. He would have been content to live out his days as nothing more than a man of the law, but fate, as it would seem, had other plans. He began to see things in the courtroom and on the street—strange, shimmering auras around defendants, prosecutors, jury members—even several judges. Shifting shapes beneath a human face—a world of seems, fraying at the seams. He lost his license, his wife, and his child—and damn near lost his life, had it not been for the Bureau. They picked him up, dusted him off, and put this impossible world into terms that he could comprehend. Now, several years later, He acts as the ambassador of man in the immortal gathering that is quite similar to the United Nations. He has often diffused many volatile situations within the two worlds merely through the power of words. Because he has accomplished so much and is merely a mortal, he has gained a great deal of respect (as well as hate) in the magical world and has a reputation that near rivals Moriarty’s.
