Matthew Callis ( http://eludevisibility.org/ ) has been most kind to me and supplied me some of these from the various Japanese magazine publications he's been collecting.
I'll start off with this Sekiban one due to relevance: He's also supplied me one for BS Excitebike and BS Marvelous. |

Wow, awesome!
Those will certainly be added to the site, especially the one showing the voice acting cast of Sekiban! What's the last (small, pictureless) one about? -------------------- |

I think the names in bold in that portion are referring to some of the Satellaview's radio programming, but I'm not sure.

That is pretty awesome indeed!
I wonder who's the guy dressed in black behind the voice actors? Also, was there ever a broadcast of AST at 12 o'clock? -------------------- |

12 Noon is highly doubtable. Even less likely? Having a bunch fo hearts, bombs and arrows right at the begnining of the game on a legit run. The publication may have played a special preview ROM sent to them and messed around with it... It it could be a prototype outright. Glitty hasn't been on MSN much lately... did you mail her to ask about that? Or as she switched over to icq or something like that?

She just showed up on MSN this morning, like whammo magic pista-pizza-pasta.
Since it's usually been long strings of days between convos, she's catching me with my pants down lately. .... horrible innuendo aside. She also asked me about #BS-X on badnik.net (Ad ad ad ad ad ad). This post has been edited by KiddoCabbusses on May 28 2009, 03:40 AM |

More scans. This time it's an advert for the Same Game: Tengai Makyo Koma cartridge. ![]() ![]() Although the bottom of the 2nd page mentions a price and release date, most the sources I got well-assured me that the only versions of the cart going around are "NOT FOR SALE" promotional carts... how strange. Also notable in the ad is the mention of "UNDAKE30", complete with a timeframe (17:30-18:00 / 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM). I've been trying to look into Undake30 and I'm getting the impression that it was at one point it's own Satellaview block. (the JP Wikipedia article on Satellaview mentions a radio show featuring Mario's Japanese voice actor - would make a lot of sense there. If only I could find some archives...)
Sugiyama Kazuko... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazuko_Sugiyama listed in that article. Ok. Now where did I read about the Mario Seiyuu before...? Maybe I goofed. Or maybe it was somewhere else... crap. I'm forgetting stuff. This post has been edited by KiddoCabbusses on Jun 4 2009, 02:38 AM |

I remember playing UNDAKE30 SAME GAME on the Super Nintendo. I was really surprised to see that it was all Mario characters in it. But the game is pretty shallow.
May I suggest that this is a data cart for that game? -------------------- |

UNDAKE30 doesn't seem to be a Data Cart intended for the standard SameGame but rather a stand-alone BS-X download software. (The game you probably played came from the Not-for-Sale Sample Cart, which there is a ROM dump of. Peculiarly, in old versions BSNES that ROM booted up on the BS-X bios.)
Otherwise it'd need the Same Game cart to boot like the first "Koma data" and "Tengai Makyo Data" carts. (It also wouldn't have been put under the "Radio personality" portion of the JP Satellaview wikipedia article if it was just a Data Pack, as those have their own section.) Guys, I think I got a treasure trove of US Gaming magazine scans to check for info as soon as I clean my hard drive up for them.
Does anyone here know if a particular Magazine had a Satellaview article we have not posted on the forum/brought up on the site yet? |

We already brought this one up but we don't have a scan of it. In a Nintendo Power issue (Feb 08, Sonic RPG is on the cover) it has a paragraph about it in a section about consoles never brought to the US. But the paragraph has some wrong info. It says there were enhanced versions of ALttP, but they obviously meant AST.

I have that issue around somewhere... Should probably scan that at some point.
I was thinking more older articles, though. HRm. |

Speaking of which, I'm sorry not to have added the articles to the site yet. As I can imagine, I've been using the time I devote to this hobby in order to work on the introduction sequence.
So yeah, that's my excuse ^^' -------------------- |
