Forum Rules Board Guidelines

1 - We ask that you do not insult, ridicule or threaten other posters, old or new that they may be. Also, please, do not spam :)

2 - We ask that whenever you wish to write about later parts of a game, you apply the spoiler tags to said text. Especially if it is something about the game's story, bosses, puzzles or items.
In the help forums however, it is not required to use spoiler tags for anything except the game's story. Failure to do so may result in warning, suspension or banning; depending on the number of times this happened, the severity of the violation (such as describing the game's ending) and possible maliciousness of the violator.
Alternatively, you may create a topic with the words *spoilers for "game(s) name"* in its title. That will exempt everybody from using spoiler tags in that thread for spoilers about said game. However know that said thread may not be modded, unless specifically requested for a violation of these rules.

3 - Due to the high level and frequency of malicious spam bots posting in the forum, registration is required to post replies in any of our forums.

Maybe... *speculating* this was a special (limited) edition? I heard that there was a golden cartridge once planned for ocarina of time...

Edit: I tried to find the pikachu hack but wasn't successful. Can anybody grab this hack out?

Could always look up unreleased N64 promo titles as well, though I have no idea what it will turn up.

Ok there was a gold cartridge for pre-orders of the game in the U.S. that were released in limited quantities. The box art also had the label of collectors edition on it. So the gold cartridge for Ocarina of Time did release in the U.S. and I assume no where else from what I just read.

Now I still cant wait to see what Hiei says about what I found, though at this rate I may have to check when i get home from work as that time to go is drawing near.

Con... that's exactly what I said it was.

And yes there was a limited gold cartridge OoT.

Why would you actually want that hack?

I think Gold Cartridges for the NTSC-U version of OOT are around. Less common than typical "Gold Cartridge" ness though.

Yeah, a limited version but no difference in gameplay could explain why almost nobody heard about it.

For the sake of completness. We also have that Gorya hack... and I think it is quite cool...

Mhm, odd are there were no gameplay differences or at least no big ones, mostly graphical things.

Though, it has to be said, All Night Nippon Bros combined levels from Super Mario Bros with some from the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 (or as it is most famous over here, Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels).

It would be pretty cool if this cart only had one quest that combined aspects from both of the first game's quests... but I really doubt that.

The Goriya hack is indeed cool, because it's another Zelda character (and a Goriya, no less. You can't get any more nostalgic Zelda then with Goriyas!). But putting Pikachu in Link's shoes... that's just silly.

Well, there are also SMB hacks with Link...
I found the hack, and made the patch (which works with snes9x and original bszelda rom).
Zsnes seems to not work and dunno if it's compatible with Roto's work...

But it is fun playing it - finished the 1st dungeon happy.gif

Ok, found the reason why zsnes didn't work and made it compatible with Roto's patch. I also replaced the girl with Gorya tongue.gif

Wow, Nintendo has screwed up automated e-Mail answeres, I E-Mailed them about this game here's what I sent and what I got back.

SENT:

Hi

I was recently reading an online forum and I came across a new topic about a very rare version of The Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk System entitled, CHARUMERA RAMEN or in Japanese, "ゼルダの伝説 チャルメラバージョン" I was hoping you could shed more light on this as there is almost no info on it on the internet.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

In answer to your question, BS Zelda no Densetsu was a game released for the Satellaview attachment for the Super Famicom in Japan. It was never released here in the Americas.

Nintendo excels at making sure our fans can get back story information, character descriptions, and--most importantly--the information they require to complete the games that we publish here in the Americas. This can happen through our website (www.nintendo.com), Player's Guides, and Nintendo Power magazine.

Having said that, many details about our games will remain mysteries, left to the active imagination of the player.

Sincerely,

Alain Dao
Nintendo of America Inc.

Methinks Con and I (and everyone else who's got their name in the hall of fame) might have made a bit too good of a job making BS Zelda more popular laugh.gif

Very odd that they automatically assumed BS Zelda. Perhaps Nintendo of Japan could be a bit more helpful?

Edit: does nobody wnat my pikachu patch *cries*

Edit 2: Seems aeroforce had the same idea in the same minute when I wrote my post smile.gif
