Forum Rules Board Guidelines

1 - We ask that you do not insult, ridicule or threaten other posters, old or new that they may be. Also, please, do not spam :)

2 - We ask that whenever you wish to write about later parts of a game, you apply the spoiler tags to said text. Especially if it is something about the game's story, bosses, puzzles or items.
In the help forums however, it is not required to use spoiler tags for anything except the game's story. Failure to do so may result in warning, suspension or banning; depending on the number of times this happened, the severity of the violation (such as describing the game's ending) and possible maliciousness of the violator.
Alternatively, you may create a topic with the words *spoilers for "game(s) name"* in its title. That will exempt everybody from using spoiler tags in that thread for spoilers about said game. However know that said thread may not be modded, unless specifically requested for a violation of these rules.

3 - Due to the high level and frequency of malicious spam bots posting in the forum, registration is required to post replies in any of our forums.

Hello. I have been trying to play this game in its original language but there isn't a version for that on this site so I tried to patch it myself. I tried patching it three times and all in order without the translation patch but all the roms I make don't work. I used ips win. So could someone patch it for me and upload it or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Upgrade, Official indoor and base must be applied in that order to the clean original ROMs for it to work. Did you do it in that order?

Ah, you're right, sorry about that. I read it down to see which patches were necessary and then scrolled up and read them in that order. Um, I really can't imagine what is wrong. I'll try and patch it myself tomorrow unless someone else figures it out by then. Also, do you speak Japanese, or why would you prefer the untranslated version, just out of curiosity.

Yes I can read/speak japanese. Also I like to play games or watch movies or read books in their original forms if I am able to.

I got week one to work. I'll upload it to Megaupload with the rest and send you the link in a PM.

EDIT: Got all four working, working on getting link ready.

Well, then I wonder what the problem was, Gilbert which MoP solved... did you do something special, MoP?

Since I entered this thread a bit late, I think I myself recall testing "JP only" on the project post-Music Restore patch and, while I forgot the details, I believe it worked ok?... Can't remember, really, but yeah.

I wish the original title could've been kept but oh well
maybe someone will do something like that in the future

I didn't do anything special, just used IPSWin and patched the original ROMs in the order instructed to on the files page.

if I recall right, the English patch isn't that heavily intergrated into other hacked code, so it shouldn't be much an issue to put it in/take it out/etc.

Kinda similar to how BS Zelda Map 1/Map 2 was, before we added a lot more text.....

well, we have dozens of patches and I am happy that I merged the most logical patches together. Before I did this with AST people had to apply 10+ patches.
The only patch where the translation is required is the German translation patch.

So this was an issue with the wrong patch program by gilbert...
