Forum Rules Board Guidelines

1 - We ask that you do not insult, ridicule or threaten other posters, old or new that they may be. Also, please, do not spam :)

2 - We ask that whenever you wish to write about later parts of a game, you apply the spoiler tags to said text. Especially if it is something about the game's story, bosses, puzzles or items. In the help forums however, it is not required to use spoiler tags for anything except the game's story. Failure to do so may result in warning, suspension or banning; depending on the number of times this happened, the severity of the violation (such as describing the game's ending) and possible maliciousness of the violator. Alternatively, you may create a topic with the words *spoilers for "game(s) name"* in its title. That will exempt everybody from using spoiler tags in that thread for spoilers about said game. However know that said thread may not be modded, unless specifically requested for a violation of these rules.

3 - Due to the high level and frequency of malicious spam bots posting in the forum, registration is required to post replies in any of our forums.

Has anybody try to attempt at allowing AST to run under ZSNES? Or is it the emulators fault that the rom wont run?

Zsnes doesn't support BSX, but there is a way around that by repointing everything which needs saving into the srm instead.

D4s has released a week1 patch to do that, as for week 2 onwards it'll take a while to get them all done.

There are these so called "improvement" releases of Snes9x made every now and them. You can think them as ZSNES WIP releases, but they get released more seldom. You can't find them from the official site, but I'm sure somekind of google search could get you on the right track.
EDIT: Well I decided to take the time to look for the site for you: http://filespace.org/nitsuja/

I completely agree with you that ZSNES is better than Snes9x. Snes9x has a lot of annyoing bugs and when I think of it there's actually no reason why I would use Snes9x over ZSNES (except for playing AST of course).

Well, Snes9x has that nifty video recording feature, which I absolutely love. 56kb speedruns FTW! happy.gif

I like the ZSNES recording freature a lot better, why? Well it doesn't slow down the emulation hardly at all, unlike Snes9x and the files are a lot smaller. You can also convert the ZMV files into AVI, but it's a premiliary freature currently.

I know that D4s has released a week1 patch to make the game run under Zsnes, but I can't find any link for it. Can someone post it here and give me a link to download it. I try to seach by myself before asking, but I can't find it. Thank you.

Eh, I'm not sure that patch is compatible with all the later work we've done on the game... I'll see what I can find about it.

The patch does work with the indoors patch, but you must disable the floors that d4s enabled, or otherwise the indoors will look messed up. Anyways, here's an IPS which changes the original KnS Week 1 rom into the one patched by d4s, and here's a patch which will remove the floors from the rom pathced with the patch by d4s.

IIRC you can't use a SRAM from week 1 with the d4s patch and transfer it to week 2, so if you're going for a complete playthrough you'd better not use that patch.

As if it work just for week 1, and SRAM can't be transfer, it a pleasure to play AST on Zsnes. smile.gif

Thanks you for posting the patch.
