Under the thing for AST, on the forums front page, why does it say Kodai no Sekiban, when the Japanese title is Inishie no Sekiban?
(Also, sorry for the nondescript title, I can't think of anything better). -------------------- |

It was ages ago when we opened the forums and at this time we thought "kodai" was the correct translation of the kanji. A japanese player told us later that the correct translation of the kanji is "Inishie" - we simply forgotten to change that in the forum description. So I changed it now. Thanks for telling this.

To be more specific, the reason it was read "Kodai" instead of "Inishie" is, basically, due to the lack of a pronunciation guide for reference. (To simplify, Japanese pronunciation rules are very different from English and other Roman-based languages, which could lead to situations where a word that reads out the same and has the same meaning is pronounced very differently - hence "Kodai" vs. "Inishie", which share the same Kanji and contextual definition.)
The forum only started hearing "Inishie" when, well, we got recordings of the original broadcasts. |
