How difficult is it go patch these ROM to work on different emulators? I've never edited ROMs in any way, but could I still do it?

At present, Snes9x is the only emulator that fully supports AST. There was an attempt at one point by D4 to make Week 1 playable in Zsnes, but that was dropped. I don't think there will be any efforts in the near future to make AST working on alternate emulators... much like Zsnes is the only way to play the fully patched Map-1 and Map-2 editions of BS Zelda.

Which version are you playing, MoP? The version with the complete "Picture intro and ending" patch, or the previous one? Because the latest version breaks function in Snes9x. The older ones work fine (for the most part) in both Zsnes and Snes9x.
Also, SNEmulDS might be using the Zsnes engine, but I can't swear by it. I would ask you to find documention on the emulator's core... but it wouldn't really help me any, since I don't program. -------------------- I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

I am playing the "3rd and 4th" quest ROM, also the patched ROMs in English with a timer (which I almost finished too, before time ran out
). I downloaded them probably a month or a month and a half ago. I also did not add any patches to the ROMs. Oh yeah, I can also play Triforce of the Gods, make a file, but not save, if that makes any difference. Oh... now you see, if it's a few months old THAT'S why it's working. If you download the absolute newest files (from last week) it shouldn't work at all for you now.

Better back up my files then..... EDIT: The new ROMs partially work on the emulators other than zsnes, you can load the game, register a file, successfully save, and get up to the screen where Zelda says she needs help, then it just goes to a black screen. That is what I was afraid of. Your DS emulator you are using doesn't incorporate the "Zsnes" architecture and core engine. Without that, it won't play on the emulator. It will load/run for a short while on some emulators, and then crash. I don't know the why/how of it... if we knew that, it would be working well on other platforms.
I have the feeling this will also be the case if I try to burn an SBI for DreamSnes with Map-1 and Map-2. I think other Dreamcast emulators could run it, but I doubt it. So the long and skinny of it is that to play it on an emulator, you have to go with the "last known working version"... meaning no pictures. -------------------- I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.
