According to the website, it sould be possible to play the game in "medium difficulty" (timer, but no limit and week skip is Triforce-related) by using the Decoration patch (the third one) with additional patch setting the timer to 00:00 (not 00:07), but without 7-minute wait.

QUOTE
III c, Download the Decoration Map 1 patch, which purpose is to make an Update of Roto's and DN's patch and keep aspects of the gameplay when we started to patch BS-Zelda. Included are:
- Zelda-style title screen by Duke Serkol/DaMarsMan/Con
- Scrolling Item List by Mottzilla
- End Screen with Death Counter by Mottzilla/Con
- Quick Save with Red Heart by Con
- Begin at time 07 by Con
- Remove Red Spots marking dungeons by Con
- enable Magic Shield unused frames by Con
- Here is the patch made by FloBBaSKo to stop the crash occurring after every 57 minutes
- Optionally, you can apply Red Heart patch to turn the heart in the game over screen from white to red as well (not only in the Quick Save), as in the original LoZ.
- It is not recommended, but apply this patch if you like to begin this game at time 00 . You'll have 7 minutes more time each week, but the time sheme is not that proper.

The last one in the most important if I remember correctly, but I have problem with this. After applying all of these patches in order (including Roto/DreamerNom before and translation after), the entire thing doesn't work. It crashes after entering your name and starting a game. sad.gif

The same problem exists in Map 2. How I should patch these roms from scratch?

The problem was the timer reset to 00. I think I fixed the problem with attached patch (try it instead that one offered at the page). If it works I will update the patch file (map 2 uses the same code so there isn't another patch version needed).

I noticed another problem: when you reach xx:57, the screen fades to white and the game crashes. I have neither time nor interest to look for the mistake here. So it seems that this deco patch isn't playable without Flobbasko's time crack.
Could you test this as well? If yes, I will merge the time crack with the decoration patch.

New patch is working correctly, timer starts at 00:00. Obviously, it requires the time crack to make the game work as intended, otherwise xx:57 is a crash.

Also, I found that similar patch is available to the Restoration version.

- Optionally, you may apply also this additional variant patch if you want to have a one full hour play time!

I think it was supposed to give you 57 (maybe 60) minutes per week instead of standard 50. I know that makes the game less authentic, but could you look at this patch as well? It crashes the game like it's decoration counterpart.

Yes, that was what I was speaking about. It also happens if you patch from scratch with Roto/Dn and then the deco only.
Means, I have to merge the decoration patch with flobbasco's time crack.
Before I make it though, could you please test whether the game switches to week 2 after collecting 2 triforce pieces? And whether week 2 starts at 00 when having above patch applied?

57 minutes only

As soon you have answered my questions about the decoration patch with flobbasco and give your ok for the restorastion version (Tre_version), let me know so I can do the update.

Decoration version appears to be working well - week 2 starts with correct time (01:00) after picking two Triforce pieces). With time crack the game does not crash at x:57. But I want to playtest it further to make sure that everything is glitch-free.

Unfortunately, there is a problem with the restoration version. The game starts at 00:00 (that's good), but few mysterious TREs happen before 00:07 (the original beginning time). I'm not sure if that was indended or not, because these events does not appear in the decoration version.
- 00:02 - mysterious event. You cannot move until 00:07.
- 00:05 - storm and "unlimited bombs" animation occurs, but there is no unlimited bombs.
- 00:06 - Guess what - unlimited bombs for one minute.
- 00:07 - original beginning time. Storm ends, no longer unlimited bombs and you can move.
That's week 1. Not sure about the others (between x:00 and x:07) yet.

ok, let me know as soon tested alright to update the site smile.gif

I found the issue with the restoration, new version attached. Problem was that I hacked some new code in a section where the time related events table is (didn't notice and no problem if you start at 0:07 as foreseen).
I moved the part in tre_version, so now it's alright. Please test briefly to update the site afterwards with this code as well.

Sorry for waiting, but I visited my brother's house for two days.

Everything seems to be working fine now (the game starts at x:00 as it should, nothing beween x:00 and x:07).

However, I found a bug in the Decoration version, but it might not be related to this patch - I finished week 2 when the Red Candle TRE was active. I had this Red Candle for the entire week 3.

ok, great - I update asap.

As for the red candle - you may had it but it didn't behave as a red candle. The sprite won't refresh but the item characteristic does. It is quite complicated to prove and refresh the tile, and I won't fix it due to
(1) the deco patch is hardly played and in the other versions this bug won't appear
(2) it is unlikely to finish week 2 while you have the red candle as not experienced player
(3) hard work - little outcome since it is just a beauty mistake

This candle actually behaved like the Red Candle (I was able to shoot more than once per screen). It returned to blue at the beginning of week 4.

Actually, I'm playing with maps and I'm using savestates. that's the one reason why I'm so quick. Secord reason is the Decoration patch itself - unlike Restoration, it doesn't use waitsigns. Last - the timer starting at x:00. I could try to finish week 2 between 1:30 an 1:38 without this patch (each week starts at x:07), but this might be impossible.

So basically that's it. If there is nothing esle to do, you can do the stuff (merge Time Crack with decoration and update both patches giving more time).

Well I hope there will be found a new hacker somedays that may solve the remaining problems.

The new files are up:
tre_version (restoration begin 00)
begin00_link (deco patch begin 00)
decoration map1 and map2 - both are merged with flobbasko to avoid the crash at 57

Guess all is working now. I won't post it on the main page because hardly anybody is interested in these begin00 patches and if somebody would have had problems with the decoration patch he most likely had noticed years before you. Most play the prepatched link rom I guess.

Thanks for update, but I found that decoration_m1 file does not include folder with single patches (unlike map 2).
