The discussion about Map 2 is going on, so I checked a Game list page about the BS-X. There are all broadcasted games listed, also the BS Zelda games.
List found here Click on the foot of the excel sheet on the blue button (there's standing also BS-X on it) and search the list for the japanese Zelda signs. You'll find following games in it (I had to write them out and made an image out of them, because this invisionfree forum doesn't support japanese signs): ![]() So has anybody an idea what this remix could be? Since there are no further signs it must be a remix of BS Zelda Map 1. Until now I thought that the normal BS Zelda Map 1 is called "remix of LoZ", but I wonder why this remix is listed there seperately? Is it a new game like Map 2 is, or may they just have retransmitted the game? What do you think? -------------------- |

I recall in Wikipedia, they mention a rebroadcast of BS Zelda Map 1... this could be that remix you read about. Though can you imagine how great it would be if it was a FOURTH BS Zelda game, and was somehow floating around the internet like Map-2 was?

I used to frequently visit rom sites back when I was still looking to get all the missing Zelda games (hacks included) and a lot of the games titled "BS Zelda Remix" were nothing more than BS Zelda Map 1 as we know it now. Minus the patches of course.
In fact, from what I've seen in GoodSnes's "Have/Missing" logs, they titled it "BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix". So maybe it ~is~ thought to be a seperate dump, or it's just a rename to make it designated as "second airing" dump. -------------------- I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

"BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix (J)" is the name given to Map 1 by Cowering's GoodSNES tool. It isn't referring to a different dump. Also, the more up-to-date sites list things like "BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix (J) [T+Eng DukeSerkol]".

Duke did just send me the rom, which was found by Euclid. Thanks to both of you
However it is only emulateable if Roto's patch is applied and then it exposes as a copy of the normal BS Zelda Map 1 we all have. It is not a second copy or whatever (I assume that because I checked the buggy Ghoma in D8). I provide it to download for a while here: Download BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix BTW: What is Cowering's GoodSNES and what did it do to this rom? -------------------- |

I've tried playing it as-is... but like you saw yourself I'm sure, it just loads a black screen and nothing happens unless you throw Roto's patch onto it, at which point it does become Map-1. Whether this is indeed it's own game, or a version of Map-1 that may even predate the "first known dump" we had, is up for debate. Either way, it is an interesting find. I've had it, as well as a ton of other "Remix" games on my hard drive for years. I wonder if I should provide a listing of them?
As for Cowering'S GoodSnes. It just verifies that a rom is "good" or "bad", and identifies it's header and name for gamers to know what they are getting and playing. There are so many copies of any given game floating around the internet and different dumps, that it's confusing to know what to get. What it did "to" this rom was identify it as "BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix" and renamed it as such. However, if you try to run certain copies of Map-1 through the utility, it can't identify or even read it. Either way... I still think this is nothing more than Map-1. I doubt strongly that it's a different quest. Maybe a bad dump of the game, or even an earlier copy. But not a different quest. -------------------- I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

I just checked the files. This dump you posted is completely identical to the very original dump also available on the website (the one with copy protection enabled).

In a way I'm rather sad to hear that this isn't a fourth BS Zelda game... but hey, this has been a very exciting year for the games, and we do still have to get Map-2 to work.

This doesn't rule out the fact that there isn't a fourth BS Zelda game. Maybe the ROM available on the site is actually BS Zelda no Densetsu Remix? Or maybe the one posted here is actually map 1 but has wrong name?

Oh I'm not ruling it out completely... like I said, trying to run certain versions of Map-1 through the older GoodSnes, it couldn't name it. For all we know, there are even more BS-Zelda games out there that we never even heard about.
But for now, Map-1 does seem to be the Remix rom. All signs point to it. -------------------- I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.
