Title: Happy Halloween!!
Description: The gates to the otherworld are thin!!

Tuf Pic - November 1, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
I just wanted to wish everybody a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

EDIT: Make sure to keep thoes nasty evil spirits away, and if anyone trick-or-treats, please, let me know!!

Here is a site where you can find other Halloween-like holidays around the world:

Halloween by country@Monstrous.com!!

Hope you guys enjoy reading about other cultures, and their versions of the day of the :stalfos: DEAD!!

Duke Serkol - November 1, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
I was kind of thinking (kind of as in "entirely too late and without any real intention to work on it") what could be sprung up for a Zelda themed Halloween. Certainly OoT's Shadow Temple offers a lot to work with.

Heck, the game itself has a Redead mask...

Anyway, I guess this means you pagans are not bothered by this celebration unlike some wiccans. All the better :)

Tre - November 1, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
Happy Halloween guys. Now gimme some candy!

Dear Duke: may I revive this topic NEXT HALLOWEEN, or may I start a new topic entitled "Halloween, Zelda Style", or something along those lines? :link:

I really like that idea!! *Winks at Serkol*!!

And I am really not offended by the stereotypical Witch-Hag image, and I think that it exists in other realities, *throwback to thread

Parallel Universes, started by YOUR'S TRULY!! :D

And the "Divine Thoughtform" idea or in this case, the DEMONIC THOUGHTFORM idea IS a part of Wiccan/Pagan thealogy/theology, and I'd daresay that it holds true for the stereotypical Evil-Old-Cannibal-Witch-Hag image as well in some realities!!

EDIT: ALL OF THE WITCHES IN THOSE REALITIES WOULD BE LIKE THAT: they would be like the witches from fairytales!! Such as Hansel & Gretel!!

Sorry for sounding weird, but since I believe that anything that can be imagined exists somewhere in other realities, THOSE IMAGES WOULD EXIST TOO!!

Of course there would ALWAYS be the GOOD MAGIC-MAKERS!!

Sure, you can do either, I don't mind.
In fact, feel free to start discussing Zelda-ween ideas right away.

Is it really that hard to understand that no one here even remotely cares about this concept? I'm not telling you to stop believing that, just understand that we never will.
Though there is one thing I've been idly wondering: your religious views, were they passed to you (by family, perhaps) or did you form them yourself through study?

Tre - November 2, 2008 05:56 AM (GMT)
I think that he was just beat in the head with a baseball bat one day, and suddenly gained new insights into the world. :D

Garrett - November 2, 2008 06:08 AM (GMT)
Attention, duelists! My hair is offering you candy!

Tre - November 2, 2008 06:29 AM (GMT)
Uhm... what? O_o

Thanks Duke Serkol for letting me try to get a Zelda/Halloween discussion underway!!

And I really appreciate it that you're letting me necro-post in this special circumstance!!

And also, YOU might not share my beliefs, but that's okay!! ;) But if my theories about Sailor Moon/Pokemon/Legend of Zelda ARE proven true, then what would you have to say to THAT!! :P

And in answer to your question, it's more the latter, but I WILL say this: I MAY have STUDIED those topics, but I ALWAYS had the INTUITION about what I believe!! I always felt that these things were true, and I always will, and I always liked them!!

There's my answer to your question!!

Duke Serkol - November 2, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
And here I thank you for answering it!! With an unnecessary amount of exclamation points!!!11one1

Now let's see some Zelda-ween.

Why don't we post pictures of POES?!

And why not make SPOOKY BOTTOM OF THE WELL MUSIC BE HEARD ON THE SITE?!

Why not post pictures of Moas and other spooky Zelda beasties on the site?!

Also, why not post threads and/or polls on SPOOKY ZELDA CHARACTERS, such as the POE SALESMAN, or the 4 POE SISTERS?!

And finally, even though I know this has NO RELATIONSHIP TO THE FORUMS, why don't we dress as Redeads with the Redead Mask?!

We can make that one ourselves!! :D

Please let me do the thread and/or poll on the Poe Sisters!!

Any more suggestions?!

Duke Serkol - November 3, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
You mean make that thread now? Isn't it a little late? (When I said "let's start writing down ideas" I meant ideas for next year).
But sure, no objection.

I meant to keep it in mind for next year, Duke Serkol!! >_<

EDIT: I know it's a little late!! ;)

Tuf Pic - July 25, 2009 09:21 PM (GMT)
Well folks, it's getting to be that time of year again!!

Should I get a "Halloween in Hyrule" thread started as we near Halloween?!

& why don't we get started on implementing those ideas on the site!!

EDIT: You know, thinking ahead?!

Tre - July 25, 2009 11:39 PM (GMT)
No. No, no, no. @#$& NO! You will NOT start this "Halloween in July" @#$&! If you don't cease and desist right now, I'm deleting you. That is all.

Duke Serkol - July 26, 2009 02:33 AM (GMT)
Wait what? I'm confused...

Tre - July 26, 2009 02:57 AM (GMT)
I'll explain.

1) This topic has been dead since November of 2008. And while there is no problem (usually) with reviving a dead topic thread, there should at least be a valid reason for the revival.
2) It is July, Pic is wanting to start discussion about Halloween of 2009, over three months before the event. Which, in combination with part one, makes this thread valid for deletion if it continues without purpose.
3) I hate when idiots bandy about holiday garbage months before the actual event. I would get just as irriated about a Thanksgiving thread in March, or a Christmas thread in October.

Duke Serkol - July 26, 2009 01:07 PM (GMT)
Ah, I see. I thought some people actually started celebrating second halloween at the opposite solstice/exuinox whatever. I.E. a summer Halloween.
Imagine that, skeletons with sunshades.

MasterOfPuppets - July 26, 2009 03:46 PM (GMT)
I saw ads for Halloween and Christmas stuff last week in fliers in the newspaper.

Tre - July 26, 2009 05:35 PM (GMT)
@Serkol - You likely just gave a certain somebody a new idea. ~_~

@MoP - Exactly why I'm stopping it ~here~. I HATE retail for pushing all the major holidays down our throats months in advance. I refuse to even ENTER most stores in the months of November and December due to the horrid presence of "Christmas" music blasting through their PA systems. I hate it. Hate it hate it hate it HATE IT.

Tuf Pic - July 26, 2009 06:13 PM (GMT)
In answer to the last several posts, I was just pointing out that it's getting to be that time of year, & that I was thinking ahead, unlike LAST YEAR, when I started the topic THE DAY OF HALLOWEEN... -_-

I just wanted to know if anyone had any other ideas before October 31...

Don't worry, I WASN'T GOING TO START IT RIGHT NOW... ;) :stalfos:

EDIT: Let's PLAN AHEAD!!

Tre - July 26, 2009 06:38 PM (GMT)
Regardless of the concept of "planning ahead", no. Wait until October 1st before you start chattering on about Halloween. Or I will delete your happy little thread. I mean it. Drop it until then.

Okay, Tre... ;) *Zips mouth shut about Halloween until October 1*... :stalfos:

Happy now?!

MasterOfPuppets - July 26, 2009 08:40 PM (GMT)
I can sympathize with you. I absolutely hate it when people start to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving is even over. We haven't even finished one holiday, and people are running around like crazy getting ready for a holiday over a month before it happens.

Tre - July 26, 2009 11:15 PM (GMT)
@Pic - Thank you. I wasn't wanting to just jump all on you, but I detest holidays as it is, and I hate when people want to start up on them months early. Do what you want in private, but keep it away from me.

@MoP - You're talking to somebody who spent six years in retail, having to deal with idiots wanting to start putting up decorations and holiday items months in advance. As well as having to listen to the same, stupid, pathetic, annoying holiday songs from the end of October to January 8th when ~finally~ the manager would get so sick of it they'd return to the normal insipid music they would play. I hated it, especially because I was forced to participate in the whole planning phase of putting up sales items on displays with <insert holiday here> decorations, putting emphasis on the fact that <insert holiday item here> was definitely what <insert family member here> wanted for <insert holiday here>!

So because of that, as well as my absolute hate for idiots that love the holidays so much they want to bring them about sooner, rather than later, I find myself wanting to squash any and all <insert holiday here> activities and plans until the proper season.

That, and I'm a jerk.

I kind of like the idea myself actually. Of course it would have to be all about terrors of the day rather than the night. But right now I can't think of any otehr than giant desert sandworms like those in Tremors.

...better to forget it I guess ;)

Tre - July 27, 2009 01:31 AM (GMT)
Indeed. Oo;;

Tuf Pic - October 30, 2010 07:10 PM (GMT)
Wow: this thread's been dead a while...

Anyways, since this wouldn't be a double-post, & since after all, TOMMOROW IS HALLOWEEN, I figured that I'd bump this thread up, so let's resume our discussion on this awesome holiday...

Any new ideas?!
