Title: question about timers

I read on them but I don't understand it completely. I know that if you play the original rom, once the timer reaches a certain point then the game is over.

And then there is a rom that doesn't have a timer at all

then you have the rom that has Link in it. It has a timer but it never expires or something. I don't understand it exactly. I know when you get to certain times something random happens, but it said when you die or something, you go back to the beginning of the week, I don't know what it means. I'm assuming that you never get a time over but the timer counts to give you the random effects. Could someone explain this for me?

You see, the original broadcasted bs zelda had a timer. The original Zelda, Nes didn't have one. Therefore we hacked different styles how to emulate the game.
There are time related events, at different times there are happening various things, unlimited bombs etc.

(1) the original bs game experience: you have a timer and need to complete the quest in 4 hours. If you fail (don't defeat Ganon) you get a bad end.

(2) the LoZ style: you play as Link without timer. The time related events are now mapped to the triforce you collected. E.g. you get the unlimited bombs not at a certain time but after completing D7. You can't fail since the game is first over until you succeeded.

(3) the Link version. This is kind of a hybrid. In case you don't manage to complete the game in 4 hours the timer is set to the start of week 4 until you defeated Ganon - therefore there is no way to fail either.

(4) rh version is like the original bs experience (1) but has some nice features like complete real hardware compatibility and both maps are merged into one rom.
