Title: Upcoming things
Description: To do list
Con - November 7, 2009 03:59 PM (GMT)
I decided to pin a topic of a list of things left to be done, so they get not forgotten... anybody can post his projects here and I will add them to the main list in the first post. In clamps are only the corresponding developers given.
Until now:
AST:
- fix the walkthrough (Duke)
- VA project (SM)
[strike]- insert intro (Con) [/strike]
[strike]- fix menu (music+autosave, Con)[/strike]
[strike]- make end screens (Duke)[/strike]
[strike]- German Translation (RedScorpion)[/strike]
MAP 1/2
- RH project (Mottzilla)
[strike]- find the kanjis in map 1/2 end (MoP) + post sword collect patch (Con)[/strike]
Con - November 8, 2009 02:19 PM (GMT)
one point striked, yeah B)
MasterOfPuppets - November 14, 2009 07:42 PM (GMT)
Alright, here are the kanji! I would like to point out that the work was done by MadHatter and me, about 65% 35% respectively. "BSZ Credits (English)" should have all you need, but there is are also two other files, one with the original Japanese titles and name translations as well, and complete AST credits, done by MadHatter.
Con - November 15, 2009 03:26 AM (GMT)
Great, many thanks, so I update map1/2 first, then the intro :B
Con - November 15, 2009 04:31 PM (GMT)
ok, here's the best I could do with our limited space. Still, it is no compare to the old pics, So many thanks ^_^
I also edited Mad Hatter to the credits
MadHatter - November 15, 2009 05:32 PM (GMT)
Con - November 15, 2009 07:50 PM (GMT)
No, thanks for your help!
I already updated the page and the roms and stroke the next pint :link:

Alright, I've decided that my first foray into ROM hacking will be a Czech translation of map 1/2. Due to the small amount of text in the game, I thought this wouldn't be too difficult to do, all I really need is a hex editor, right? Or am I completely wrong and is this difficult for a beginner?
Oh, also, the script on the site isn't up to date anymore, is the only line that was changed on that the "memories of war" line?
MadHatter - November 24, 2009 01:12 PM (GMT)
I'm kind of interested in this as well. I could create a Hungarian version if it were at all easy to do. If this is a simple sort of procedure, would it be a good idea to come up with a small tutorial walkthrough? Does such a thing already exist?
Con - December 15, 2009 12:35 AM (GMT)
Ok, with this intro and end patch, the next two points are stroke
http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/...introendw14.zipOnly red's translation is missing (final stage) and Duke's walkthrough, then I'll retire. Mottzilla's and the VA project is something I keep myself out (except there is some further coding for VA needed
Con - December 20, 2009 11:58 AM (GMT)
Ok, stroke Red's German translation since it is done :)
Here's the final patch for the intro/end sequence which I am going to post before christmas:
http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/...t_intro_end.zipI call it final because I will not longer code.
There is however a "continuity/cosmetic mistake" since Duke wishes to have the screens with text displayed before the final cut scene where the mascott is sent to earth but I am not able to hack this, because I did not find an address from where to hook back into game after the point when the end screens were supposed to appear in order to then display the final cutscene.
If anybody is able to do this, or anybody knows someone who can help Duke out here, please do tell!
As for me the projects are closed and I retire B)
MadHatter - December 20, 2009 12:07 PM (GMT)
Well I harbor a secret hope that you may come out of retirement one day. Heck, Rocky did in Rocky Balboa (2006), and you know why? Because he had the eye of the tiger and the thrill of the fight. So you don't have to admit it to us, but just keep it in mind at the edge of your consideration: people do come out of retirement sometimes when the time is right.
Thanks for all your hard work, Con. We fans really appreciate it!
Con - December 20, 2009 04:15 PM (GMT)
Thanks a lot, but there is also no real need for me to not retire since the list is completed and the work done ^_^
This week 4 issue is the "i"-dot, I think Duke will start asking Euclid and romhacking.net
MadHatter - December 20, 2009 04:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah but we'll probably still need you for things like Master Quest Run #2... ^_^'
Duke Serkol - December 20, 2009 07:07 PM (GMT)
Whatever the heck would that be? O_o"
Trying to ask Euclid is a good idea. Hopefully I'll catch him on-line one of these days.
By the way, and seeing as this is the topic for things to come, GlitterBerri is now looking into the full voice acting of the original BS Zelda (we only translated bits of it).
I don't expect much to come from it (though it will certainly be invaluable for the eventuial VA project) but maybe there will be some big revelation near the end of week 4 ;)

That's the point. We're talking about the future and why Con needs to say "farewell for now" to hacking instead of "good bye forever."

:D
Yeah Link will step out of the background per Tuf's fantasy and say "Hi, fans! I bet you wondered where I was during this game. I was actually having adventures in another dimension but I was still here at the same time! Anything is possible if you can imagine it because imagination is the spell that binds together all of Hyrule! Anyway I just wanted to drop in at the end here to give you guys a thrill and to mention that I did NOT come from Calatia! That's a scandalous lie! OK, that's it. Enjoy the credits!"

?
Con - December 21, 2009 12:19 AM (GMT)
now smash, the va code for map1/2 works and everything needed is the va mp3 to finish the project.
For ast I think you need some further modifications.
Don't mind MH, I say goodbye to coding, but I will still be around the page but more inactive like Tre nowadays is
Coding stuff costs a lot of time which I don't have anymore with my current job and I also have a private life

Can you elaborate? I still fail to understand.
Duke Serkol - December 21, 2009 03:39 AM (GMT)
The introduction pictures need to show up for a longer time (six miutes total), the game needs to go directly from intro to gameplay... stuff like that.
Tre - December 21, 2009 12:03 PM (GMT)
Congrats, Conn, on getting the final patch ready before the holidays!
And welcome to being "Retired". That's assuming BS Zelda Map 3 doesn't somehow get discovered before you run away to another land. :P
Con - December 21, 2009 02:08 PM (GMT)
Thanks Tre ^_^
and now I will have also time soon to reply to your mail which is in my inbox since 3 months ;)
Now it's only up to Duke to playtest and write the walkthrough... but I'll post the patch tomorrow I think. However, best might be to leave the 2MB version without intro/end of both AST/MQ also on the files page if people want to run it on rh or so.
Duke Serkol - December 21, 2009 02:54 PM (GMT)
Agreed, might be for the best.

Yeah, BS Zelda has gotten pretty far.
... we kinda still have blanks for BS Marvelous and BS Fire Emblem, though, don't we...? ... ... ok, I'm being really bad here. ^^; But aye, no pressures. Maybe at some point I'll actually be able to throw together a hack myself. Just not one with Pikachu.
Duke Serkol - December 21, 2009 08:57 PM (GMT)
It would be wonderful to translate those informating voice acting segments for BS Fire Emblem and insert them in the game in the same fashion we just have with AST...
but of course, someone other than Con would have to do it, since not only he's retired, I don't think he's a Fire Emblem fan either
Con - December 21, 2009 09:07 PM (GMT)
:) ... ... O_o ... :bomb: ... :head explodes: ... :stalfos:
well, site's updated with the latest patch :) enjoy
Duke Serkol - December 22, 2009 01:25 AM (GMT)
What? I wasn't being sarcastic, I really have no intention of asking you to do that.
...unless you
are in fact a Fire Emblem fan, then I would. So I suggest you deny that as emphatically as if I had asked whether you liek Mudkip ;)
KiddoCabbusses - December 22, 2009 01:45 AM (GMT)
I did a rough script translation before (I will probably have to revise it at this point, now that you mention it), but the thing we're missing at this point is the CG art for parts 3 and 4...
(And also the fact that the game took advantage of the Satellaview's Soundlink to play audio in the middle of game play similar to Sekiban did.)
Duke Serkol - December 22, 2009 02:11 AM (GMT)
Oh, we still don't have those? That's too bad. And yet we have the audio for those weeks?
KiddoCabbusses - December 22, 2009 02:27 AM (GMT)
We have scripts for three and four, taken from a JP website that had them up. I think I linked all that before, might still be in the forum somewhere.
The scripts (based on comparing with the dai-1-wa and da-2-wa videos) seem accurate, although since BSFE seems to consist entirely of newly-composed synth arranges and medleys/mixes, the track listings the scripts have are not necessarily accurate.
Duke Serkol - December 22, 2009 03:26 AM (GMT)
Ah, I see then, transcripts, not recordings.
Tre - December 22, 2009 03:26 AM (GMT)
@Conn - Wow... I forgot we even sent emails to one another back in the days when you were still "retired" after the first time. Yeah... hopefully you'll keep parts of my reply in your email to me, so I know what the heck we were talking about!
And yeah, leaving a "pure" copy, and the complete for all the BS Zelda titles would be the best bet, so that people who want to just play the rough and quick versions can do so. :D
MasterOfPuppets - December 22, 2009 07:02 PM (GMT)
Very good work Con, we couldn't have gotten this far without you. Thanks! Also, thanks for keeping the old builds of AST up too in case it is needed.
Con - December 22, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)
Thanks a lot... at least you appreciate the work done :)
I kept the old roms in case somebody wants to play the game on RH, where a 4 mb rom can't be played. I renounced on 2 MB MQ due to space, however if somebody need these versions he can easily patch them together.
Well, I hope Duke gets happy one day reaching euclid to erase the cosmetic mistake. Other than that, I really think our project is at the end. There's just nothing more to do (what can be done, e.g., merging the roms isn't possible).
In this sense merry christmas :link:
Con - December 23, 2009 05:29 PM (GMT)
while I was bored I again looked at the sequence and well, it seems like I got the cosmetic detail to work by finding a correct place to hook.
Today I drive back to my parents, tomorrow is x-mas but maybe I'll upload the new w4 rom tomorrow or latest the day after.
Merry christmas, Duke
Duke Serkol - December 23, 2009 06:27 PM (GMT)
...woohoo!! :)'
I knew you could make it Con! Thanks! :floater:
Mh... I need a firework smily... here:
:head explodes: :head explodes: :head explodes: :head explodes:
Nevermind the eyes, they are exploding from glee and awesomeness ;)
Oh and a merry Christman to you too :D
SmashManiac - December 23, 2009 07:28 PM (GMT)
Con - December 24, 2009 02:31 AM (GMT)
updated the roms yet... now I expect a real fireworks ;)
borders of the textbox of the last cutscreen won't show up, but this is not too abd since the complete text before is without textbox borders, too
