Title: Introduce yourselves
Description: Not mandatory, feel free to ignore this
Duke Serkol - April 14, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
I know that in some boards people like to have a topic to introduce themselves.
Well if you, new members, wish to tell us about yourselves, go ahead and use this topic.
2awesome4apossum - April 15, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
Hi! I'm 2awesome4apossum. I might not be new, but I *act* new. For the rest of you members, I am the same 2awesome4apossum as you may have seen on:
http://www.zfgc.comhttp://s10.invisionfree.com/Zelda_PC (not to advertise this one, but... you may want a look)
http://www.nexuschat.com/forumsand I am also 2cool4skool on the Zelda Universe forums, although I am not active there
I like possums.
lameboyadvance - April 16, 2005 01:35 PM (GMT)
Hi. Short time viewer, first time poster. ;)
I'm amazed at the amount of effort you guys have put into these generally unheard of titles. Keep up the excellent work! :D
Oh, and sig test. :P
Duke Serkol - April 16, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
Nice sig. And Avatar too!
Garrett - April 16, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
Don't mind him. As long as the avvy's not from the dreaded You-Know-What Waker, Duke's happy... ;)
Hi, I'm Garrett, if anyone hasn't seen me at the old boards, well, I'm the resident busybody and post monkey, desperately trying to keep up with 2awesome4apossum's postcount, and I also got roped into doing title screens and such at one point, which I don't think have been moved to the new board (yet). Actually, I think it was my own darned fault. Yes, yes it was, I started it... stupid me... :)
Duke Serkol - April 16, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
What are you talking about? That was not sarcasm.

Wiki! Yay! Wiki! Garrett has a avy from Wiki! Wiki is like The Wind Waker! Suck it!
Well I moved over the thread on the BSZ1 title screen. The AST one is posted on the website, but if you want it moved, I'll see what I can do.
Post counts aren't *that* important. It just says who's the bigger nerd! That's why *I'm* at #1!!! Suck it!!!
But your posts usually have more content in them. Just look at about half of mine and Duke's (the about 50 involving :cucco:. Speaking of which............... NOOOOOOOOOO!!! >_< ).
And speaking of title screens... let me know when you have some free time (and how did the essay go?). Well PM me!
And welcome lameboyadvance!
Duke Serkol - April 16, 2005 10:49 PM (GMT)
That's just because Garrett had his traumatizing experiences with our little friend :cucco: while we were developing the board!
I do believe we had some work in progress in the last ASt title screen topic, so it might definitely be a good idea to bring that over (that and the AST forum looks lonely)
2awesome4apossum - April 16, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
traumatizing experiences? Please tell! (would I be on the right track if I posted this: >_< ?)
Duke Serkol - April 16, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Let's just say he has taken an solemn vow to never eat Kentucky fried cucco again.
2awesome4apossum - April 16, 2005 11:04 PM (GMT)
Well the biggest problem with that is the word "Kentucky". If it was just fried cucco, I'd view it as more exceptable.
beast_rune - April 18, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
Hi, I'm beast_rune. In addition to Zelda, I love the Suikoden series (almost as much). I've also been call TingleKoolooLimpah, realbombchu, and keatonquiz if any of you remember them.

You really shouldn't have said that in Garrett's presence...
Before you are horribly slaughtered, I wanted to say that your avatar never fails to make me think of an Alien Facehugger.
2awesome4apossum - April 18, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
Garrett! NO!!! What are you doing with that knife! AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cent208 - April 19, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Hi I'm cent208. I've been a staff member on this website since january or february 04. My job is to find rom hackers who could potentially fix BS Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets. I have found a number of rom hackers who worked on the game but none have been able to make patches for the game. The Zelda series is by far my favorite video games series with ATTP my favorite game of all time. Street Fighter is my second favorite video game series. I also enjoy rollerblading running, and playing the guitar.
Duke Serkol - April 19, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
Cent! I never knew!
Okay, time to start a Street Fighter Thread.
Or maybe tomorrow *falls asleep on the keyboard*
Garrett - April 19, 2005 03:38 AM (GMT)
Hey there Cent! Found any Pieces of Heart lately? ;) ...hehehe...
Personally I can't understand people's fascination with fighting games. I've only ever played SF (the original) once, and that was my only experience with fighters. I kinda prefer beat-'em-ups more I guess.
And remember kids, "Winners don't do drugs!" :) ...ahhh... the joys of Golden Axe... ahhh...
Hey, what the...? *hits Duke with rubber cucco* Hey! Wake up and smell the Goronade!
2awesome4apossum - April 19, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah... fighting games never appealed to me either. I mean, what's the point? You press a whole bunch of buttons in no particular order just to see the guy lightly tap P2, and (if it's anything like these modern ones...) enough blood comes out to feed all of China. Yes, that's right! They are all vampires in China!
Euclid - April 27, 2005 02:00 PM (GMT)
Well I didn't notice one of these threads around until today...
I'm known as Euclid on a lot of the rom hacking boards, it was Cent which told me that BSZ3 needs a script inserter. I would think that it'll be a good place to test my rom-hacking skills.
I've been rom hacking for like a few years now i think and also has been hacking zelda 3 like there's no tomorrow and i've yet to produce something "useful", i need a break from zelda 3 really bad so i was thinking about helping someone doing some script dumping or inserting (since i can't translate)
oh and i'm not really much of a fan of fighting games too... love golden axe though, i can beat that game in ~15-20 minutes :P
Garrett - April 28, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
15 minutes?!? You are too slow! Unless you're talking about Golden Axe III, that game is lonnnnnnng....
cent208 - April 28, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
euclid, are you a big zelda fan?
Duke Serkol - April 28, 2005 01:03 PM (GMT)
I'd suggest you to PM him.
cent208 - April 28, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
your probably right, i won't bother him.
Duke Serkol - April 28, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
I just meant that he may not check this topic anymore, but okay.
Duke Serkol - May 3, 2005 11:34 PM (GMT)
Okay, I just noticed lameboyadvance's new title and I just have to say this:
What does a Triforce of lamedom look like?
Perhaps instead of shining like gold and glowing of a radiant light it just occasionally lights up with a buzz like a flawed light bulb?
And I bet it looks more like rusty metal than gold!
lameboyadvance - May 3, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
lol...
Sounds about right actually...
A Triforce (or a piece of one), old and rusted, and flickering like a bad flourescent light.
...Are we able to add our own level icon(s)?
Duke Serkol - May 4, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
No, even I can't do that unless I create a specific "member group" for you.
For example, I was going to give a Master Sword to the moderators group, but the only moderator, Garrett, wanted the medallions like everybody else.
You could use it as your avatar though.
lameboyadvance - May 4, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
Nah, I'm fine. :)
That thing took a while to create, and I can't be bothered making another one...
Helios - May 29, 2005 07:32 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, just thought id drop in an say hi, im the idiot making ZGM. I mainly came here cos possum keeps posting the link! <_<
Duke Serkol - May 29, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
We welcome all new visitors, but especially those that are working on projects that sound as promising as ZGM (you and lameboyadvance should have a handshake or something ;))
I hope your project will progress nicely as I'd like to use it for
this.

Tre - September 10, 2005 08:44 AM (GMT)
Since I'm new, and this is an introduction thread, I'll introduce myself (what a novel idea!)
If you couldn’t tell by my username here, I’m Tre, and I came across this forum almost completely by accident. I was digging around Game FAQs for information about any possible new releases of BS Zelda (since I haven’t looked for one in about two years now) and there was a game guide that linked to this site. So, being curious and hungry for an update, I plugged it into my address bar, and ended up at the main page. What I saw, pleased me deeply. Updates… actual updates for a game that I thought had been put to rest without a proper burial. So of course you know, after getting all the new patches, and after I noticed a Forum link, I had to come in and thank everyone (which I did) and hang out while using a cattle prod to get updates made waiting for any more updates to BS Zelda 1. (I’d kill for an actual ending screen… yes…)
I’ve had the pleasure of talking a little with Duke in the BS Zelda threads. I don’t know anyone else yet, but I’m sure that’ll change with a few replies, yeah?
Duke Serkol - September 10, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
So what do you think of the ending screen I made? (It can be found in the ideas page)
This place is a bit slow, like the site itself... but I'm not complaining.
coinilius - September 10, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
Hey, welcome to the boards Tre! Hope you like it around here - it's a pretty friendly, laid back place around here :P

I'm really wishing that something like that WOULD be placed into the rom. I have to admit, that while I like the current "ending", if you put that in instead, I'd dance for joy in the streets! (Same with the updated title screen and items list!) Though, not to nit-pick anything, I'd have to ask you how you would get the "Death count" to work... but if you did, that'd be awesome! In the meanwhile, could you please try putting it in there as the ending screen for a hack-patch, and putting "Press Start" or something?
And Coinilius, thanks for the welcome! I'm really enjoying myself here so far, and hopefully I can remain fairly active... assuming work doesn't keep pile-driving me. ^_^;;
I am noticing that the board is laid back, and a little slow paced, but that's perfectly fine by me. I'm a little lazy, and like that I can get through the topics without having to wait a month to read page 99 about Super Saiyain Link fusions with Zelda. Oo;;

The idea was to place it after the current ending (that is, after you leave the cave instead of Roto's text)
About the Death count... same way as we got the name entry to work?
I'd love to do all of that, but we are currently at a severe lack of hacking skillz after Dreamer Nom's disappearance.
coinilius - September 10, 2005 03:06 PM (GMT)
It's a real shame that there aren't more people with the skills needed interested in these projects - not that there hasn't been some great work done by the various people involved... there just always seems to be more that needs to be done :)
Tre - September 10, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
That's true on both parts... if you could figure out how DN's patch works on the name entry to alter entries, you COULD display Deaths at the last screen... and I hope you know I meant to remove the Roto ended when you leave the cave. I would love to see that ending, only with the patch, we need a "Link and Girl Mascot" and a "Boy and Girl Mascot" ending screen, which isn't hard to do a patch for IF it maps to the character sprites.
Also, I'm going to request this here, because I know it's possible and that you can do it, Duke... Please, please please PLEASE make the "Girl" mascot into Zelda like you turned the Boy mascot into Link, and have them BOTH in the same game! I would have joygasms if I could play the game with Link and Zelda as playable characters. I know it might be a little difficult to save "Link" with Zelda as the "Girl Mascot", but I think you could do it... Vel's patch did it with the Boy replaced by Zelda... so all it would take is to follow suit and just make a patch to cover the Girl mascot with Zelda sprites (I mean heck, they've made a Goryia patch for the Girl... if you can change her based on that, Zelda is NOT impossible)
coinilius - September 10, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
You would just have to have a different patch for playing as Link and for playing as Zelda - it would require some coding to make the character that you rescue change depending on the character that you choose at the start.
