The world isn’t perfect and everyone knows time and space isn’t either. Good things come to an end eventually and bad things tend to move on slowly just when you think you’ve rid yourself of it. Time Lords. They weren’t exactly perfect either. Maybe their planet Gallifrey was at some point, but like every race there’s always bad apples. Namely a mister Master who has an ego so big, he could have his own area code. In fact it was so big he tried to take over Earth with it once, but that didn’t turn out so well now did it? No, he played with fire and got burnt with it all thanks to Team TARDIS, Torchwood and a miss Lucy Saxon. Sure he was married, but his wife seemingly got tired of all the treatment she got from him and shot him. What a way to go, but there’s more to this little story that many didn’t see.
Our dear Master wasn’t completely gone. When the Doctor’s pyre passed on he forgot one little detail that was so small it came in the size of a lonely ring. A ring by the famous Time Lord Rassilon. Easy to pass by as a regular celtic designed trinket, it had a deeper secret. The power to grant immortality. Still wearing it, everyone thought he was gone. That was until Lucy found him and took it whilst watching him rise up again. Sure he was missing some clothes thanks to the Doctor, but he was back and kicking better than ever and the drums kept pounding a rhythm to the brain. How he wished he could yell his triumph in his rival’s face, but it was best to lie low again even if it ended up lasting a year like the last time. He’d need some new digs too, but not a new face. He wasn’t going to regenerate back on the Valiant, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to do it now. He rather liked the idea of being a walking ghost with Lucy at his side once again.
Many didn’t realize that his wife had shot him on purpose. It was a fail safe plan that if anything should happen and the Doctor wins again, she was to do it and to ensure his survival. Boy that ring always did come in handy, but he knows he should lose it sometime before the myths come true and he turns to stone.
When will the Master come out and reveal himself again? When will the two Time Lords have their senses kick in and realize there’s two of them still on the planets surface? What is the Masters new plan, if he even has one and will the Doctor and his band of friends be ready? Everything is at a stand still, but chances are high the good might prevail again, but one can only hope.
