history: [timeline format or two/three paragraphs]
Public school doesn’t get you far in FL when the major population in the city is split between drug dealers, prostitutes and corrupted legal figures. As soon as senior year arrived, Max put himself on an obsessed mission of getting out of the area he was in. He worked two jobs during the school year, one after school and one on the weekends, saving money to leave. He spent many sleepless nights studying as best he could pulling off the best academic year of his life. Luck granted him his wish and he found himself accepted into a college oversea. He couldn’t imagine a place farther away from Miami.
Max’s parents were of the small population that still worked honestly. Though the family business was suffering over the last years financially as larger retail chains popped up in the area offering cheaper prices and products. From the time he was old enough to work his father pressured him into working with the, but Max refused picking up small jobs where he could from working at a local grocer to an after school custodian his junion year.

When his parents refused to pay the tuition to the school (the local college was so much cheaper!) he took on another job over the summer working himself into a state of exhaustion that left him in the hospital for a week suffering from severe dehydration. He managed to get enough financial aid on his own to secure his first year status at the college. Upon his release he boared a plane swearing to not go back.

(my post got cut off)

until the end, defenders of anarchy

rp sample:Hogsmeade glistened in the early morning sun as the first group of students arrived having taken the early ride of the thestral pulled carriages to the outskirt of town. From there it was a brisk twenty minute walk of quiet whispers, shuffling feet and puffs of breath on the air. The three were one of the first to appear in the town, bee lining it for the Three Broomsticks to warm themselves up with steaming hot mugs of melted chocolate and peppermint sticks. Harry indulged deeply in his drink, soaking in the warmth of it and the heat of the surrounding room as the three of them clustered at a small table in the corner of the room under Rosemerta's watchful eye.

"Slimey bunch is too lazy to come this early." Harry looked over at his red headed friend peering at him through the billows of steam spewing forth from all of their mugs. Ron was always right on schedule with dragging the Slytherins into one of their conversations. Harry's gaze moved curiously around the room noting that there was not one single flash of green and silver around them. Shrugging silently at his friend, he turned his attention back to something a little more - tasteful.

"Lazy ass-" He fell silent over Hermione's glare towards him. Harry himself said nothing on the subject choosing to peer into his mug as if it contained some interesting piece of information or image he needed to know. Anything to spare himself the wrath of Hermione's scornful gazes and temper. If Ron knew better, he would stop now.

One more mug each, and they left the pub making their way back onto the streets. The crowds had gathered more now all flocking towards the few select pubs in the town that were considered inhabitable by students. Some off the side streets were avoided even in the early mornings, as they tended to still have the previous night's crowds celebrating still or reawakening for just "one more round."

"Where to first?" Hermione asked taking an instinctive step back. Harry turned in time to see the first lot of Slytherins arriving. They seemed to have all crowded into that particular run of carriages as a rather large group of them began descending about the sleepy town. Harry moved over towards Hermione followed by Ron who took no care in hiding his look of disgust towards some of them as they passed by. Harry remained silent choosing not to comment at the hissed words and comments tossed at him and his friends. Crabbe and Goyle. Followed up by Malfoy. Pansy of course trailing like the usual lost puppy. Her group of backstabbing friends comprised of Millicent Bullstrode and a few others. Blaise Zambini and his small collection of loyal companions. A few others Harry recognized but cared not to know the names of. Clive Hindrance. A red haired girl that Harry had mistaken as Ginny from a distance once time. Theodore Nott. Harry said nothing to any of them as they walked on by passing their usual digs and comments. Hermione had a steel grip on Ron's arm holding him back trying to keep in control of his temper.

"Just forget them," she whispered as they group moved off down the street. Harry nodded fixing his glasses and exchanging a look between his friends. "It's not worth it. None of them are worth it."

*****
Hours of popping in and out of small shops and specialty stores left all of their pockets heavily laden with sweets and various items. Hermione's pockets and small bag were filled with quills and multi colored ink wells. She'd taken up a new hobby of writing notes to Harry and Ron using different colored inks because as she said, they were pretty. Harry however thought some of her color choices were obnoxious and he feared opening any of these letters around others in fear of the next one being pink or something more offensive. Ron was stocked up on chocolate frogs and every other candy imaginable. He'd saved money all summer for the visits to town and now it seemed his hard work was paying off. Harry had never seen his best friend buy so much. Harry's small bag and robe pockets contained a mixture of things. Candy and ink. A new quill. A new book on Quidditch that he'd found as well as a new broom kit as his had seen its day.

They pushed their way through a rather large crowd of students, Harry losing Ron and Hermione in the crowd of them. "Where-" Harry's voice was drowned out by a large crack and the sounds of screaming. There was a repetitive cracking sound and more screaming as Harry turned around on the spot looking for the cause only to find that he couldn't see anything lost in the crowd of panicking students.

Surrounding them all was a group of figures clad in dark cloaks and masks. Hogsmeade was being attacked. Or rather the students. There was another rash of cracking sounds as another group appeared as aurors apparated nearby. This sent the group of students into more a panic as they all shifted away from both groups, screaming and stepping on one another. "RON!" Harry shouted. "HERMIONE!" He called. But in the mass of house colors he couldn't see them.

There was screaming between the other two groups as spells began passing between each of them. They flew over the heads of the students as some ricocheted off nearby light posts and benches. Flashes of red passed by. Flashes of green. And Harry knew what those green flashes were. He'd seen it before and seen it too many times to count. "RON! HERMIONE!" he screamed again trying to move through the crowd to find them. "RON!"

There was another sudden flash as another spell ricocheted wrong between the death eaters and aurors. It ran parallel with another spell, both heading on a parallel collision course with the crowd with nobody there to stop it. At some point in their journey the two spells collided with another and mixed. None saw it. The only thing to be noted at this point was the spell hitting the crowd of students. Seeing the group of them drop do the ground unconscious broke the battle between the other two groups and the death eaters instantly apparated away leaving the mess they'd created behind.

Additional stuff: Matty loves lici very much. And if I get in, I want the subplot: I can't actually afford to study...but I attend the lectures and take the exams anyway,
