Confusion was clearly written along contorted features, a lightness present that hadn't been there in such a long time as she looked at him. His comment was something of a cyptic nature, and she couldn't help but smile at it. A comment that would be passed confidently through her own lips if she found herself within a place where pain didn't dwell. Now, it didn't - the man before her had latched onto it, only to be suffering her own demise that moment. It was something that she wouldn't wish onto anyone, considering the pain that she held onto went deep. Deep enough to cut through the toughest skin while leaving a punture that would only be the mishap of death in its own right. It was something that had been holding onto for years now, holding on so tight and expecting that if she ever let go that she would fall along the ground with death by her side. It was something that she couldn't let herself feel, knowing tears would cut lines along tanned cheeks; carving their path and leaving a trail for the others to follow. It was something that she wouldn't put herelf through, she couldn't - not again.
I'm sure that your opinion would change over time - everyone's does. The statement was a bit darker than the mood that currently carried her, You aren't the only one that holds a secret. The smile that was once in place had fallen as her gaze while her head bowed and caught the sight of the carpet beneath her. His question caught her attention though, and she moved to push forward - gathering her jacket on her way out, considering it possessed the keys to her apartment within the pockets. Sure. A walk sounds great. A small smile pressed firmly along her lips, moving to fall inline with him as he moved to open the door. Slipping through, eyes closed for a moment to welcome the chill that dwelled within the night's air. There was something about the air of the night - cool and crisp, it was almost as if she welcomed it with open arms. Ready for that nice breeze that gathered along her cheek, daring anyone to come in contact.
A light chuckled sounded then, a smile on her lips, Alright, I promise not to refer to you as the empath, Lucas. Her gaze dropped as she pulled the jacket into place, curling up against the fabric before he ended her sentence for her, Leeched? So, you're like a parasite? A light smile continued to touch her lips, teasing the man a bit and noting the fact that her personality was slowly beginning to find it's way home. I'm kidding. It must be hard, though - having to be careful to not touch someone in fear of gathering their emotion. The statement sounded then, noting the glove that was now present over his hand.
