Things are different now, young dears. The year itself is different. 2023 has brought along new things. New people roaming the streets, stalking the homes of the innocent.
Welcome to Lanport, Colorado. Here you can come to figure out the things lurking in the corners. But don't get yourself in too over your head. Things can get a little, complicated, around here.
Just a word of warning: Watch Your Back. Especially at night. Just don't go looking for what you can't handle.- Vampires
- Werewolves
- Hunters
- Humans
Those are the creatures you will be facing in this world.
The Vampires are the ones that roam freely around, day and night. They have been here nearly as long as the humans have. Stalking, pillaging, preying, and just being hazards to the creatures with out all of the power.
The Werewolves are the ones that have striven in secrecy. With their violent tendencies, and outbursts they have kept themselves well hidden. Don't expect to ask a random human about them, and to have that person either admit you to a local nut house, or laugh in your face. People don't know about them. Only one group has an inkling.
The Hunters know everything about both races. Don't expect to find these guys on the streets either. Of the many tribes only one has figured out that the old tales and myths aren't true. You can't kill the Vampire with a cross, or the fact that they can be seen through a mirror. They can't be harmed with holy water, or a heart wrenching steak. Fire is their worst enemy. And the group that knows that likes to keep this little secret to them selves. The enjoy watching the others prance around with their crosses, stakes and holy water. The others sleep during the day while they hunt for the others at night, family time isn't a big priority. All of the families train their children at the age of 5, boys and girls. So these people are well trained, just in different aspects.
Back when Cleopatra and Caesar rained supreme, that is when this started. It started in Greece. At first it was a plague, but became so much more advanced.
It was subtle at first. Nothing could appatize your hunger. You ate every thing, nothing satisfying your horrifying hunger. Many people ate themselves to death. The violence of this death was unimaginable. The bodies were piled around. No one could do anything, but try to satisfy their pains.
Then people started to get pale, deathly pale. It was as if people were dead, but walking around as if they were apart of the living. To the outsiders they were walking ghosts. No one came to the city. It was told in other places that it was the city of evil. The people punished for their sins against their Gods.
The eyes of the ones who survived the ghostly process became illuminant. People who couldn't see as clearly, and even the people who had perfect sight, grew to see nearly ten time the normal sight. People who didn't last long during this process were through into a mass burial pit.
With only about 100 people still living in this large city, they changed. Senses sharpened along with the ever growing hunger. Their canines elongated, they became more aggressive.
Only 50 remained human like. The other 50 where able to changed into a wolf form. The two races began a war.
Each sided built up a vast army. The ones ho looked human were called Vampires, or night walkers. They survived on only the blood of others.
The changelings were called became known as Lycans, or Werewolves. They survived off not only the blood from others, but also the flesh.
The thing that isn't most commonly told, is that they involved humans in the war as well. They didn't tell that humans were slaughtered. Not just by the Wolves, but by the Vampires as well. Whole families murdered out of sport. This atrocity happened during the middle ages.
The war has been laying dormant for over five centuries. Things are changing. The wolves are out, they howl at the moon. Yearning to kill openly. They want blood. And they will get blood. This post has been edited by Hannah on Nov 8 2009, 11:13 PM
