July 31st 1980. A sigh of relief and the sound of a child crying announced it was over. The hot summer night had produced the most precious gift that summer, a baby. The world was caught in turmoil, depression, and deaths – at least in their world. It hadn’t been long ago when Voldemort had rose to the peak of his power nearly over taking the ministry. The one thing that stood between the Dark Lord and overtaking that ministry had been the Order. James and Lily Potter were part of the Order for a year and a half before Harry had been born. Their wedding had been a complete mess and perfect at the same time, but now there was Harry. They both left the ‘front lines’ of the Order feeling they now had the job of parenthood to put first. The young married couple stayed inside the order for a few months before Lily didn’t feel safe even then. They went into hiding with the rest of the population of muggleborns and moved into a quiet home in Godric’s Hollow…

The wizard world has been split in two, followers of the dark lord or those following the rebellion. There are two sides, the good and the evil – you are either with Voldemort or with Dumbledore. Of course there are the radicals flocking about in Maidenhead like hippies from the sixties, but even they are a peace promoting group of people. Streets are darkened at night and no one wants to travel along, the Prophet is scared to print but they have yet to shut down. When everyone is scared, the world around you begins to change and the once happy lives they lived are no longer as such.

Moving from the title of the ‘Knights of Walpurgis’ to Death Eaters, the Dark Lord’s followers have become more grueling ‘fighters’ not willing to spare any mercy. They kill all of those who they look for and spare no lives, because they are no longer picky about who it is they kill more have come to fear them and more have come side with them and join Voldemort’s ranks out of fear or admiration. Although there is many that side against him, the Dark Lord had been noticed as a force not to be reckoned with. He has struck a fear in almost every family; most can not even let out the man’s name without fearing his presence coming around a corner. Then again, many are convinced he’s not even a man.

The Order has worked to protect those that have went into hiding, such as their beloved James and Lily Potter. They were assigned Secret Keepers, and when it came to the Potters things turned out how no one expected. While Sirius Black seemed the obvious candidate for the Potters but things did not turn out that way. He was young and though it caused a rift between Sirius and James for a few weeks, the friends got over it like they always did. Although Sirius had been dubbed Harry’s godfather was he cared too deeply for his two friends and suspected he would be the first suspect Voldemort would target in his search for the Potters and their son. So Sirius declined their request to be their secret keeper and suggested Pettigrew. Other Order Members were assigned as Secret Keepers to families, but they mostly plotted bringing down Voldemort and returning the wizarding world to the way it had once been. People called them ignorant, some called them heroes, but after a recent article they have been dubbed the children of the revolution…
