In 2007 the government decided to open a gated community by the name of Talbott. Within Talbott’s walls all its citizens would be micro chipped with a number. Talbott was an experimental community, being used to test the new technology of the micro chip. The rules were that if you were entering, exiting, opening, closing or using you had to swipe your micro chip. The government could track everything you did. They knew when you went to school, when you left school, what doors you opened, what computer you used, what phone you used, when you used the internet, when you took books out from the library. They knew everything. Just as Orwell speculated in his classic 1984, big brother was suddenly always watching.

Parents signed up their families to participate under the agreement that they would be paid 1, 000, 000 upon exiting the programme whenever they wished. After a year no body wanted to leave because Talbott was like euphoria. They had everything they needed and none of the destruction that raged in the real world existed here. Talbott (as far as they knew) was safe from drugs, alcohol, partying, teenage pregnancy, violence, racism and war. But you can’t keep man kind from their instincts, soon enough the underground emerged and with it the rebels. Not everyone like the idea of Talbott, and yet despite the governments claims stating they could leave when they wanted to- they couldn’t. Not without government documented slips for the front gate, and the government was definitely not handing those out. Especially with the program going on and no one knowing it exists. As far as the outer world is concerned ‘Talbott’ is an army base along the lines of ‘Area 51’.

TALBOT LAWS
break these and suffer the consequences

1. you must swipe your chip on every designated chip reader that crosses your path
2. underage drinking (the drinking age being 21) will not be taken lightly and prosecutors will be faced with heavy sentencing
3. the use of drugs and tobacco are strictly prohibited for everyone of any age
4. curfew is at ten, anyone outside past those hours will be arrested
5. loud music is unacceptable everywhere, anyone seen or heard playing loud music risks being arrested on the stop
6. intercourse including people under the ages of twenty is prohibited
7. rebellions that occur will result in all participants being arrested for a minimum of 6 months
8. anyone trying to escape over the walls will be shocked down at a voltage of 90 mA

Of course, people break the rules. But so help them if they’re caught.
