SUPER SMASH BROS. 4
OFFICIAL DISCUSSION TOPIC

It hasn't been that long since the making of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the third game in the Smash trilogy, but hey, I'm making this anyway.

It's been rumored that the people behind the Smash Bros. series "cannot wait to make another [Smash game]", supposedly for the next generation Nintendo console. (I cannot remember if this was mentioned in an interview or what, though.) There has also been a very weak rumor going around that a Smash Bros. Brawl 1.5 will be released someday (think Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. 3 1/2)... Anything on that has yet to be clarified.
If this is so (regarding the former, as it more than likely is, due to the raging success the Smash Bros. series is), what kind of characters, stages, music and other special tidbits are you looking forward to seeing in the next Smash game?

In this topic, you can post up your characters, their moves (if you want), stages and how they may work, items, Pokeballs, Assist Trophies... You name it!

Discussion!~

Well I'm not good, at all, at making things, so I probably won't be posting any of that here, but I would love another one. I do kind of want them to make it more along the lines of the N64 one though, because really I do like that one better than the Wii one. I think I would like Mewtwo in there, I'm not quite sure why they did put Lucario in there in the first place, but in my mind, replace him with someone else. I'm not quite sure who, but someone else. That is all.

^ Interesting thoughts on staying with the more comical Super Smash Bros. 64... but with the way the gaming public is today, if it's too lighthearted, people will bash it to "kiddy" hell. (Ah, and you don't have to worry about posting characters and whatnot in the fashion I do... Heh.)
As for Mewtwo... I don't understand why he was cut in the first place, either. However, I cannot say with a straight face that I would want Lucario to be replaced, either. He's become my most longest played character (surprisingly), and is the ONLY character in the Smash series to do the more-percent-more-power bit. That's unique, which makes him pretty cool. Other than that...

CHALLENGER APPROACHING! BATTLE THEME

Versus Legendary! - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

Alt.: Versus Primal Dialga - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness

MOVES

Intro (when he appears on the field): A black spot/void appears on the ground, and Darkrai slowly emerges head-first.

A: Swipes at foe weakly
A: Swipes foe again, with a little more force

Smash Attack>: Darkrai lashes out with dark energy at his fingertips. Tip of fingertips has most power/knockback.

Smash Attack^: Darkrai uses both hands to create a ball of dark energy above his head that shoots into the sky a short range. (Dark energy ball still causes minor damage as it's loading in his hands.)

Smash Attack v: Darkrai raises his arms, then sharply drops them so that they're parallel with the ground. He releases some of his red aura as he does this. This move works similarly to Lucario's down Smash Attack.

Crouch: Darkrai's body sinks into the ground. Only his head is visible. If one were to see what he looked like from above, they'd see his flowing "hair", his head, and what appears to be his body in the stage as a shadow.

Crawl: Darkrai's body, hidden in darkness, slowly creeps forward or backwards.

Strong Attack>: Darkrai lashes outwards with this hands.

Strong Attack^: Darkrai uses a hand to swipe away enemies with a dark force.

Strong Attack v: (While crouched) Darkrai slightly shoves enemies away with telekenetic powers.

Rushing Attack: Darkrai shoves away his opponents with a red aura pulse.

Neutral Special Attack: DARK PULSE - Hold the B button down for more power; move will automatically release once charged completely (think Marth and Ike's B moves); the longer held, the more damage done and farther range. Dark energy pulses from Darkrai's body.

Special Attack>: SHADOW CLAW - Can be used twice in a row; Darkrai swipes downwards at the enemy first swipe, then upwards the second. He uses a ghastly energy...

Special Attack^: PURSUIT - Darkrai automatically locks on to the closest opponent and hits them. Depending on if the enemy is idle or moving, the attack's power weakens or intensifies respectfully.

Special Attack v: HYPNOSIS - Darkrai lulls nearby opponents to sleep, giving them minor damage as they doze off. Their length of sleep depends on how much percent they have accumulated, and the distance away they were from Darkrai when he executed the attack. Cannot lull enemies to sleep in the air.

Grab: Grabs with both hands.

Grab Attack: Sends dark energy coursing through the enemy.

Throw>: Darkrai suspends the enemy slightly in front of him, holds a hand out, and shoves them away telekenetically.

Throw<: Darkrai throws his enemy over his shoulder as dark energy clings to their body.

Throw^: Darkrai suspends the enemy above him for a moment, then shoves them into the sky via telekenetic powers.

Throw v: Darkrai envelopes the enemy with dark energy as they bounce off the ground beneath him.

Neutral Aerial Attack: Darkrai pulses with red aura. Has decent knockback.

Aerial Attack>: Darkrai slashes at the air in front of him with dark energies.

Aerial Attack<: Darkrai (with legs extended) kicks backwards twice. The tip of his legs has the most knockback power.

Aerial Attack^: Darkrai uses dark energy to create a small explosion above him (similar to Zelda's Aerial Attack^ .)

Aerial Attack v: Darkrai brings down his hands to create a small burst of red energy. *Meteor Smash.*

Taunt^: Darkrai's body is outlined in red aura and he grunts, amused.

Taunt>: Darkrai clenches a hand into a fist, which exerts dark energy. He shudders, grunting.

Taunt v: Darkrai sinks into the shadows and reemerges quickly; "Huh, huh..." he chuckles.

Special Effect(s): Darkrai hovers slightly above the ground, and does not trigger items such as Motion Sensors or Snake's mines due to levitation.

Final Smash: DARK VOID - Darkrai breaks open the Smash Ball... He executes Dark Void by putting his hands above his head. A black ball of energy appears in his hands, then swiftly expands, engulfing anyone nearby. Anyone in the viscinity of Dark Void is put to sleep, and their percentage slowly rises. Enemies that are in the air, but end up inside the void, fall to the ground unable to recover unless they escape the void. (Think Luigi's Negative Zone.)

Winning pose 1: Darkrai glides in from the shadows and emerges, body flowing.

Winning pose 2: He clenches his fists, eyes closed, and a red aura exerts from his body. He then opens his eyes and chuckles.

Winning pose 3: Darkrai, his back partially to the camera, peeks to the side to view the player. His eye flashes red, and his body flows.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that I think of it... There's one certain option I've been looking forward to in the Smash games: the option to colorize your character. As in, you could have a pink Sonic fighting a gray Charizard, or a Midna-inspired Zelda fighting a Shadow Queen-inspired Peach! Personally, I think it would be awesome to color in your characters... Sure, then there'd be no point in optional colors to come with the characters, but hey, it's always nice to have your customs displayed with the professional choices. wink.gif
I don't really have any intentions for the next Smash game, but Darkrai would be a cool edition to this rumor.
^ lol
Well... hopefully this rumor rings true. I could sure wouldn't mind a Super Smash Bros. Brawl DX (Director's Cut) or another Smash title in general (so long as it's for the Wii on up, not the handhelds, unfortunately, due to their lack of memory).
CHALLENGER APPROACHING! BATTLE THEME
Deoxys Battle! - Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen
Alt.: Versus Ancient Pokemon! - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Special ability: It can change form. Before a match begins, you can choose which form to play as on the character selection screen (think Pokemon Trainer or Zelda/Sheik). In a way, it's a four-for-one deal (just that the attacks for each form will be nearly the same, for the most part). You can choose between its: Normal form, where it has the most basic strength, speed and defense; Attack form, where it has very high attack power and speed but can be sent flying off the stage quite easily; Defense form, where it lowers in speed and attack but can be a pain to knock off the stage; and Speed form, where it is on par with Sonic in terms of speed (albeit it loses some attack and defense in the process).
Even noted by Sakurai himself, Deoxys was regarded as "popular". Could there be a chance that Deoxys could enter the Smash ring this time around? Only time will tell!
These character profiles are fun... :3
You have posted the three mains that I wanted in Brawl. biggrin.gif
Love the description in Darkrai... And the four different forms of Deoxys with their own colors? O_o That just rocks.
I might post some characters if I can. smile.gif
Three Pokemon in a row, got any other ideas besides Pokemon?
Even so, I like the ones that you did. Deoxys and Darkrai especially. I really hope they're in this rumored game.
Naturally. I was just knocking out the easy ones first... It's kind of hard to come across sprites and such to recolor for other characters, y'know?
Hmm. There IS one more Pokemon I'll add... but I'll savor her for later. Probably after this one.
AHH, yeah, just for the record... if I happen to post a character you wanted to post up, you can post up that character anyway (duplicate character-wantings are allowed, if you will). I see no harm in that. wink.gif
CHALLENGER APPROACHING! BATTLE THEME
Final Boss - Mega Man X6
Special ability: Mega Man can "absorb" his fallen opponent(s)' abilities temporarily (think how Kirby works). It will momentarily replace his B-move, the Mega Buster, with whatever B-move the fallen opponent has (Mega Falcon Punch!!). Depending on the strength of the move, it can either be used consecutively for a while (Olimar) or only once (Ganondorf, Captain Falcon).
One of the most demanded third party characters under Sonic the Hedgehog, Capcom's Mega Man may just one day enter the Smash ring alongside the three famous mascots! Who will win in the ultimate mascot Brawl: Mario versus Sonic versus Snake versus Mega Man!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

...Whew.
I don't know much about Mega Man, so I had a little trouble with finding some music (fortunately, his Skins were all supplied, so I kind of cheated there :3 ). Other than that, this was fun.

I honestly hope Mega Man makes it into the next Brawl game. Hey... if TWO third-party characters could make it into Brawl, why not at least one more in a fourth installment? (It would be foolish to think for a second that a Smash game would NOT be appeasing to fans... so there's no excuse for Capcom to say something like, "Ah, we'd rather not, because we don't know how this Smash game will turn out." ********! * * * * * * * * * * ! ! ! !)

*.

Well, you can still post up Megadude if you want; I see no harm in posting up duplicate favorites of characters. Heck, if someone had already posted Darkrai, I would have posted my version anyway. :3

(Just for the record, moved my Mewtwo post down here. Didn't want it taking up the first post, as I want that to be dealt solely on information.)

~For me, the #1 character I would want to see in the next Smash sequel would be none other than Mewtwo. He had so much potential, and yet they cut him, not so much as giving him the chance to redeem himself from the title of "Worst Melee Character". No Smash game is complete without this Psychic powerhouse in their roster (with the exception of Super Smash Bros.).

ALTERNATE COSTUME

CHALLENGER APPROACHING! BATTLE THEME

Mewtwo's Theme - Pokemon Stadium

Alt.: Versus Mewtwo! - Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen

After unfortunately missing out in the prequel Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Genetic Pokemon Mewtwo has returned to the fighting fray -- and this time, he's not holding back anything!
Mewtwo uses Psychic powers to devastate his foes! His techniques were passed on to Lucario, though Lucario relies on Aura rather than Psychic force.
Mewtwo's Shadow Ball is similar in size and shape to Lucario's (though Mewtwo's isn't as strong if compared to a 182% Lucario), but instead of following a straight path at full power, it swerves like mad! Be careful -- its trajectory may be hard to avoid.

CHALLENGER APPROACHING! BATTLE THEME

Team Magma/Aqua Grunt Battle - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

Alt.: Team Aqua/Magma Leader Battle - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

A popular Psychic-type Pokemon, Gardevoir was the only Pokemon to appear on the Japanese listing for Sakurai's voting for most-wanted Newcomers, alongside Pokemon representative Steven Stone (a trainer).
Gardevoir may not be the best at close-range fighting, but when she unleashes her Psychic powers, that's when things become chaotic! She moves fluidly, hitting opponents in rapid succession due to her dance-inspired style. Don't let her elegance fool you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, this should be the last of the Pokemon reps from me... Heh heh heh. If anyone else is willing to contribute fighters, stages and whatnot, feel free to post 'em, even if it's just a picture and a brief biography. smile.gif
So far, the music I want to hear in SSB4 are listed with the given fighters. I'll probably post more music as I introduce more fighters I'd want to see.
As for stages... well... I'm still working on that one. Though having some N64 stages back would be pretty cool.
Now the others I could deal with, but nah. I don't really think Gardevoir should be in it tbh.
