Thats part of the deal with the new test version, the log in possess takes longer, what happens is it won't let you pick a plane or fly until for about a minute or so as it does some things in the background. Luckily I'm told this will probably be fixed in the next release.

On the 171st server you can tell that you are fully logged on when it pops up a custom server message. It usually says something to the extent of "Welcome to the 171st server, bla, bla, bla, ect.).
Kinda annoying but only temporary. smile.gif



And YSPilots does go on the fritz every now and again. They have been a target of several hacking attempts in the past and news doesn't get around as well as it does when ACS is down so its hard to tell. It's usually back up in a day or so. smile.gif

Found an F/A-18F (Seraphim), but unfortunately, I saw one of the 922nd/171st newer jets before it, and they immediately raised my expectations, so the Superhornet I found came up short.

Another thing I noticed with the newer packs, the F-14D models are all named "Bombcat." I thought the D was called "Super Tomcat."

Where can I find a map editor? I'd like to create an X-S field.

The creator of YS flight made a map editor for it and it can be found on the main YS Flight Website listed in the first post here. It will be under the "Scenery Editor" link on the YS page.

I have it myself and have messed with it a bit but with no real luck. It is very complicated and I couldn't find any sort of instructions for it. Take a crack at it if you want to, let me know if you get it to work. wink.gif


Also, I did find a model of an F/A-18F in the CEP packs I believe. smile.gif

There was a short article on it on YSPilots. Very short actually, it's the most basic kind of map, just a green meadow with a runway. I don't imagine it's incredibly easy to create hangars and buildings.

I'll see what I can do with it. Is there anything in particular you want the X-S base to feature?

A huge canyon somewhere! Like REALLY HUGE! (kinda the same idea that Iceman had with his old 171st base). But put it off in a corner somewhere.


Make sure there are a lot of starting positions, I always have a problem with lack of SPs on most user made maps.


Make sure our base has a lot of IFF 1 defenses (though you might want to make a version without them as well)... maybe make it into the side of a mountain with a tunnel start point (you would never have to worry about vulching that way! laugh.gif ) or just have some mountains around it for defense.

The runway and affiliated structures don't have to be anything special, copy the main one off the Hawaii map for all I care. Bunkers are a good thing to use if you can't figure out tunnels, pretty fun as well.



You'll want to have some ground targets as well, make sure they are a decent distance away from the base (about 100mi or so). Pop up a city with a bunch of buildings and such and a few starting positions here and there.


Also, I'm not sure how you do this but make sure that if you make any roads that you are able to actually land on them if you need to. It's kinda silly to try to land on a road only to die and find out it was classified as a field.



Another thought might be making a version where all ground is considered a runway, allowing ground vehicles and landing anywhere.




You odviously don't have to do all of that (though if you're up to it don't let me stop you wink.gif ) I'm just throwing ideas out there. salute.gif

Dude i cant get the eldarado packto work otvwtf.gif otvwtf.gif otvwtf.gif When i started ys flight it gave me a bunch of error mesages saying i could not load the files. Iwached your video on you tube like 10 times and still cant get it. Please help me.
