Gauntlet: time records thread, just an idea for friendly contest ^_^

I was thinking, just an idea for a little competition we could post our fastest times for "Gauntlet" here, including the downing of Mobius himself . (screenshots with a digital camera are advisable, for evidence of your fantastic time but are not required). All scores are to be done on Ace difficulty. (btw, just unlocked it like 10 minutes ago. YAY )

I myself have gotten 5'49", although the batteries in my digital camera are dead right now, Ill have a pic tomorrow morning....so im keeping the PS2 on all night so odd to me...another EDIT: sheesh, i seem to just get better each time i do Gauntlet! (now 4'17") O_O damn, why cant my SOB camera work?!

EDIT: damn, just when I needed it, my digital camera went haywire on me! sry guys, no photo with my time...best evidence I got is that its saved on my memory card...*ships the card to everyone so they can see the time*

how did you guys do?

PS: as of when to take the pic, the debriefing will probably show the most evidence.

I've not unlocked Ace yet.... Just finished my first run through yesterday unfortunately. I love the game, love to play, but by the time I get off work I'm exhausted.

If I'm thinking of the right planes, one has a glass canopy and the other has the Falken's camera setup I think...

ok, since that dilema has been solved...

so has anyone unlocked Ace yet? or just me...

I've got Ace but how do you get to the Gauntlet?....Do you have to play through on Ace? as a Soldier?.....that's what it looks like to me....

What is the Gauntlet, anyway?

You have to shoot down every ace squadron: Grun, Rot, Indigo, Gelb, Schnee, Shwarze, Silber, Espada, Gault, Sorcerer, and Wizard.

ok people, heres teh deal from teh Gauntlet expert

1) you dont need to be a soldier. just shoot down every ace squad at least once in story mode, and it unlocks in free mission. (i think basically what YPH said)
2) in Gauntlet, you only face 5 squads, depending on your time. I THINK (correct me if wrong, sure im right though) if you shoot down Gelb fast enough, then you fight Rot and Schwarze. if not, then either Grun and Schnee, or Indigo and Silber. then, shoot down Espada (as the 4th squad): fast enough, Wizard (read: Mobius, who shoots wizard down and calls you out) if not, then either Gault or Sorcerer.

the weird camerasystem of the falk was always a con for me, nice to know that there is a falken with a real canopy

Well I just unlocked Ace mode and I'm gonna work on this.....

BTW - I just faced the Wizard squadron on my last run through - HOLY CRAP !!!!

True a canopy can't glitch and die like cameras (see albino ace's posts, lol) but then with the cameras you can have metal in between and be better armored...

So does Mobius have a voice in the gauntlet, or is he still as quiet as ever?
