Below is a list of links to downloads you will want to have for YS Flight Simulator along with a brief description of each. If you find any other good links you would like me to add or if any links are broken, please let me know.


Color Key:
Green indicates a link to a YS Server related page.
Red indicates a link to a How To for some part of YS.
Orange indicates a user made pack that contains Ace Combat Aircraft.
Light Blue indicates a link to a Video Tutorial or Walk-through for some aspect of YS Flight.

YS Pilots Active Server List- This page has a list of Low downtime servers, until we get our own server, we will use the ones on this list.

• In order to use the 171st server correctly, you must have the 171st Ground Pack (you can still run the server without it, but you will miss out on some cool extras) This not longer applies, as the 171st server doesn't use it anymore, though it is still fun to use if you want it

How To: Installing Add-on- Probably the most important link you will need, it gives you step-by-step instructions on how to install Add-ons.

YS Pilots Add-On Releases Folder- This is where YS users post Add-ons that they've made, very useful for finding updates and new stuff.
YS Pilots Common Add-On links Page- A list of commonly used add-on links. Does NOT provide direct links and some pages are in other languages.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT under any circumstances download the "Realism pack"!! It screws with a lot of the game settings and will cause you to have to reinstall the game!

Add-On Direct Download Links

922nd ACFG Official Squad Pack- Link to the pack for one of the other YS Squads, not a direct link because it is updated frequently, just click on the picture to download.
171st Official Pack- Link to the pack for one of the other YS Squads, not a direct link because it is updated frequently, just click on the picture to download.
Old 171st Pack- It's not updated anymore but it still has some great aircraft!, not a direct link, just click on the picture to download. (Includes an X-02 and an ADF-01 Falken with an X-S Logo, as well as some other AC planes)
TaskForce Pack- A popular pack, no direct link but it sends you to the download page which is updated often. (English Friendly)
CEP 1-A Popular Pack. Site not English Friendly so there is a Direct link.
CEP 2-1- Part of the CEP Pack series.
CEP 2-2- Part of the CEP Pack series.
CEP LT- Part of the CEP Pack series.
ElDorado Pack- This popular pack contains many Ace Combat aircraft; Link is a direct download.
Wizard Pack- A popular pack with some strange planes (some from Yukikazii I believe); Link is a direct download.
RPFS Official Pack- Link to the pack for one of the other YS Squads, not a direct link because it is updated frequently, link goes to the download page of their site.
WicWorks Pack- Probably one of the best packs available! Contains planes from the 241st YS Squadron as well as some others. This pack includes a few of my personal favorite aircraft! Link goes to Downloads page of site.
HyperFlanker- The worlds best cheat plane! It's disabled on almost all servers because it's basically invincible! Plus it goes "Hyperspeed", good to mess around with in single player; Link is a direct download.
Iceman's Ace Combat Pack- A pack containing several Ace Combat aircraft, mostly the enemy Aces of ACZ.
VFX Pack- A popular pack containing a LOT of fictional F-14s and some other stuff; link goes to English friendly download page because there are a lot of download links (feel free to get them all!).
X-49 Pack- Pros of this pack: Contains a sh*t load of Ace Combat aircraft!!! Cons of this pack: You may need to download a new Archiver program to unzip this uncommon filetype; Link is a direct download.
AC3 YS- Contains a bunch of Ace Combat aircraft; Link is a direct download.

I can't get the one with the Falken to download How do I get it to download?

Try this link for that FALKEN: http://www.yspilots.com/171fs/171fs_110806.zip

If that doesn't work, try using a different browser, like if you normally use FF us IE and vice-versa. The file should be over 2500KB, if it is any less you should try again.

Ok, it downloads, but how do I get it to work? I've watched the tutorial you made about 20 times and I can't figure that one out, I have gotten some add ons to work though.

Ok, let me see here, there are a few things that could be wrong:

1. Did you put the .lst files in the aircraft folder? (There should be 3 of them)
2. Did you add a "User" folder to main YS Flight Folder (the same folders with the YS Flight .exe files in it)?
3. Did you copy the two 171st folders into the User folder?
4. Are there any files in those two 171st folders?
5. Is the Zip file you downloaded more than 2.5MB in size?

After very little analysis that merely amounts to something of a quasi-educated guess, I'm inclined to think YS Flight Sim has a memory leak.

Of course, it could be my RAM module going bad as well.

Yes, actually I have a few, I'll find the links and put them up.



There is an option somewhere that allows you to "Free memory when possible". This guy makes the program in his free time as a hobby so don't expect it to utilize system resources real well, though he is open to suggestions, you could probably email him about it.

Is there a way to reduce the game's joystick sensitivity?
I find myself reflexively yanking the stick to the side when I try to break-turn, and it usually results in about 10 rolls, with my craft inverted when it stops.

Well go into the control config menu and there should be some check boxes for "Use Dead Zone" try messing with those a bit, if you still can't get it the way you want I'll ask one of the YS Flight Pros I know.

171st Ground Pack link is bad. YSPilots seems to be out of commission as well.

I had a lot of trouble connecting to the 171st server last night. When I did connect, it wouldn't let me choose a plane (menu instantly reverted back to stock F-16C), and then it wouldn't let me start flying.

On a brighter note, I did manage to land a CH-53 on both the Carrier off Hawaii, and its escorting Destroyer. And I landed the 171st F-18 on the Carrier today, so I'm getting pretty good as landings go.
