Early Farewells, Tag: Lorna, Hailley, Remy, Bobby, Jean

After much internal debate, Charles thought it best to voice his concerns with his most trusted students. He knew he could trust the few that he called to his office to keep his precious secret. Any word that the Professor was dying would alarm the new arrivals.

With a good deal of effort, Xavier used his telepathy to contact his friends.

Bobby, Lorna, Hailley, Remy, Jean…You must have already figured that this time was coming. Don’t be alarmed my friends, I haven’t reached the end of my struggle yet. I plan to fight with this alien infection within me.

He paused. Was it right to call his illness an ‘alien infection’? He had no idea what was draining the energy from him. Perhaps his age had finally caught up with him.

The five of you need to report to my office immediately. We will discuss these matters in detail.

Jean walked in now infront of hailley and Lorna.She ran up to the professer and hugged him tightly and she started to become all teary.The professer was always like a dad to her.She then walked back a bit looking at him all teary.

Remy had heard the Professor's instructions and did as he said. He followed a few of them up to his office. Remy stepped inside and examined the professor. He had sacrificed so much for Remy. Bringing him back from a world that hardly anyone knew about. If he hadn't been for him, Remy would have been one of the bad guys he was fighting, and now, he had to watch the mentor slowly fade away. It was hard, but he wasn't about to break out in tears. Remy leaned against a wall with his arms folded, trying to be tough and hold in his feelings as he watched everyone else around him.

This meeting had been on her mind since the welcoming ceremonies yesterday. She was sure that the Professor would prove once and for all, that he wasn't going to die. He could die...he was like a father to her.

"I think this matter has been on all of our minds for a while now." Hailley spoke as Jean gave the frail Professor a huge. Hailley half thought that he would snap under the pressure.

Death. Lorna had seen it far too often already, but nobody around here every really stayed dead for long did they? Well not with Shi-ar technology and all manner of other freaky voodoo powers. It hurt though, watching someone go through that kind of anguish. Keeping her mouth shut, Polaris walked over to stand next to where Remy was situated. He looked miserable, this really was bad.

Forge walked into the Professor's office, looking for Charles. When he saw Gambit, Jean, and a few other mutants, he spoke up. "Hello, Professor, Jean, Gambit. I hope i'm not Interrupting anything."

The professor waited until everyone was silent before parting his cracked lips. "Now now, don't think I don't plan to fight this battle. He said, attempting to reassure the others.

Hello, Professor, Jean, Gambit. I hope i'm not Interrupting anything."

Charles raised his head to look at the new guest. It was Forge. Away from Muir Island?

"You couldn't have arrived at a better time. I'm about to send my favorite students off on a mission. I'd be very much in debt if you could attend with them. You are all going to the Shi-ar colony in outerspace. I'd like you to search for some answers about my...infection there."

"Sure, i'll do it. You have a list of kids' names and powers?" forge asked the Professor. i know you can hear this. What has happened since the last time we talked?

"Now now, don't think I don't plan to fight this battle."

That was supposed to make it all better?Eugh, this was just not happening, it was a nightmare that she needed to wake up from. How could the professor be so ill? It wasn't possible. Well alright it was possible, but it made Lorna feel sick.

"Hello, Professor, Jean, Gambit. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

Oh great, when Forge turns up you know something's bad. Biting down on her lip, Polaris felt a slight twinge in her stomach, a mixture of fear and doubt. If Charles ever did die, then what would happen to all of them? She'd be damned if she was being told what to do by Scott.

Was it only her that saw a problem with this? No oxygen, a history of very bad experiences in space, plus there was always the fact that the Shi-ar loved us one minute and hated us the next. She wasn't even going to dignify this with a response. Instead she stepped away from the wall and left through the door. There was no way she was having a part in this insanity.

Blonde curls bounce over her shoulder as Hailley turns her head. The mutant that stands before her doesn't look familiar, she's never met him before.

Hailley shrugs and turns her attention back to the dying man before her.

"The Shi'ar? Correct me if I'm wrong but, the Shi'ar haven't been exactly...friendly towards us." Her voice pierces the silence. "Are you sure that they have the cure to your infection?"

i know you can hear this. What has happened since the last time we talked?

Xavier's head pounds with pain as Forge's thoughts reach him. He sends an apologetic wave of psychic energy before shutting down his mind to any more thoughts. The pain is that unbearable.

"I have my doubts yes, but if anyone can be of assistance it's the Shi'ar." He turns his head slowly, "I need your feedback X-Men. Yay or nay?"

Bobby walked in, a little late. "Sorry... was half way across the campus." he was just in time to hear the end of the Professor's speech. He walked over to Hailley and smiled, then looking away. "If it will help, Professor, I'm all game to go into space."

You've been like a father to us all..... he thought, looking down, then to the others, seeing the grim looks on there faces. "I'm in."

The professor's wrinkle face produced a smile as Bobby entered. He knew that his faithful students would never let him down. "Thank you Bobby.

Hailley's eyes flicker up, "If Bobby's in...I'm in as well." She glances at Lorna, silently apologizing.

Bobby smiled and grabbed Hailley's hand, giving her a small kiss on the cheek before looking around to Gambit and Jean, waiting for their replies.

Icy blue eyes focus themselves on the floor. She feels horrible, showing her affection for Bobby in front of Lorna. She feels...she has betrayed her.

"Alright then, lets get to work." Forge was starting to get the gist of waht was happening. The profesor had a sickness in him that prevented telepethy, and He was incharge of the group to go 'convince' the Shi'ar to help out the profesor. "Bobby, I need you to gather the group. I will be in the Hager bay, Re-checking the Jet when you have them ready." Forge passed out the door, with a strong need to fix something.
