Name: William “Will” Oedipus Blau (Birth surname O’Connell)
Age: 18
Codename: Jolt
Gender: Male
Appearance: Though however bold and threatening he seems--or tries--to be, he is an unnaturally short and stocky character coming from a family of tall persons. He’s truly a sight--though, perhaps not for sore eyes. He has high, broad shoulders, and a prominent muscular structure, though it’s hardly to the point of being grotesque.
Redheaded and extremely fair-skinned, it is more than obvious that he is of Irish descent. Unlike most with red hair, his eyes are a literal ‘electric’ blue, and they tend to change colour with his corresponding moods. He tends to have a hard as nails and cold as ice glare...
Even though no one has ever seen them, he has a rather interesting collection of scars all up and down his arms, and several others that curl across his left shoulder. He usually sports a leather jacket or a long-sleeved shirt to cover them up.

(Sean Biggerstaff used as model for appearance.)
Powers: Gifted with a combination of electrokinesis and electromagnetism, he is able to not only produce but also control the raw power of electricity. There are many effects and results produced when he puts his powers to use. For example, he can perform a wide range of electrical attacks, ranging from a small shock or large ‘jolts.’ He can also drain energy from surrounding devices, and alternately charge electrical outlets with his own energy if he so chooses.
And though he’s still working on this part, he can also magnetize and demagnetize objects. Metals work the best, as they’re the most reliable conductors. It takes keen concentration to attract and repel these objects, because too much energy can be devastating, and not enough might frustrate him.
Despite how much concentration and control his powers demand, they become erratic and wild if his emotions get out of hand. Lights tend to act up the most when he’s upset. They may flicker, dim, go out completely, or in some extreme cases, implode upon themselves from an energy overflow.
Weakness: Will is paranoid on an extremely unreasonable level. Due to past experiences where his trust has been betrayed and his personal space violated, he has a clouded judgment on who is trustworthy and who is not. Therefore, teamwork is obviously not his strong point, and planned strategies have never appealed to him. He has problems accepting other people, in other words, and he might not even trust his own teammates; it can prove to hold consequences in many situations.
Water is a prime weakness to the redhead. Whether his powers are activated or not, they are always still alive thrumming within him. Dousing him in water short-circuits his bioelectricity, leaving him weak and unable to produce enough energy for both his body and his powers. In result of this, he really doesn’t like to get wet and tends to avoid large bodies of water and going outside when it rains. Coincidentally, Will also can’t swim very well, and most likely he’ll drown if left to fend for himself in deep water.
Another annoying weakness he has is cold. Low temperatures ultimately slow him down and dampen his abilities. Winter usually makes him more irritable and surly than usual, and he has to get in more hours of sleep to make it through the day. When he’s awake and cold, his energy goes towards shivering to keep his body warm, and it works, but eventually that energy is gone. If this occurs, he can become extremely vulnerable to hypothermia and other diseases, as his immunities take a sharp decline without proper warmth and rest.
Personality: As are most stereotypical redheads, Will has a short fuse and can go off on anyone at any time. He tends to be impulsive and extremely violent if provoked, and he hardly ever holds back against a foe even if the odds are out of his favor.
Aforementioned, he is paranoid and wary of others. He tends to lash out at others that he sees as a threat--which is nearly everyone. Trust is a slow process with him, but, rest assured, one can gain a loyal companion of they can go as far as gaining William’s trust. But, betray him only once, and it’s likely he’ll never trust you again.
His social abilities are insufficient, and he tends to be a man of few words. He has problems expressing himself vocally, and often what he says is based upon vulgarity and cursing. He also seems to lack much skill in feeling with or for other people, and someone else’s problems don’t seem to concern him too much...
All in all, Will is rather self-conscious and can be rather easy to upset. He’s moody and restless, but he is well aware of the fact of what he has become. And he doesn’t like it. Though he’d never tell anyone, he’d like to change, but he knows no other way.
Status: Brotherhood Mutant
History: He was born out of wedlock in a shady part of town in New York, and Will’s had it rough ever since he was even brought into existence. Things just weren’t right with his parents, and they were always fighting. His father Aidan often disappeared, leaving his wife and infant son to provide for themselves alone. Eventually, after many long years of hardship, Will’s parents were divorced when he was eight years old. But, unfortunately, overexposure to the man he hated as made Will into an almost exact replica of his father...
The next four years were even worse, as Will’s mother Julie tried to make ends meet. Her stance as an alcoholic didn’t help, and things were spiraling out of control again. She then remarried to a man named David, who in tow brought his only son Robbie and their massive German Shepard Sarge. Things were fine for a month, but it was downhill after that.
David hated Will, and his son did too. They took pride in torturing him in various ways. But their favourite form of entertainment was to let their family dog Sarge chase him. Will always managed to escape but once. The scars were for life; physically and mentally.
With his growth stunted and puberty delayed by some unknown cause already, Will’s mutation did not manifest until he was around fifteen. His stepbrother was pushing him around as usual, and he’d finally had enough. He had fought back against Robbie before, but never like this. Hours later, paramedics were called to the scene of one Robert Blau, covered in electrical burns and in shock...
Terrified, Will bolted from his home, where he lived here and there on the streets. He was sheltered at first by a man named Charles Xavier, and it seemed like a good idea at the time to take in someone as confused yet dangerous mutant like Will. Though, time passed by, and it was clear that he just couldn’t fit in at the Xavier Institute. He was always picking fights, and this ‘hero’ business never did it for him. Often his powers got out of hand, and he would have to be put under restraint to keep him from hurting someone. One day, he made a silent decision, walked out the door of the peaceful mutants, and never came back.
It was only a short time later when he found solace in the Brotherhood of Mutants. Here he felt accepted, almost safe, and though he hasn’t taken off for too long, he still disappears from time to time... just like his father did when restlessness overcame him.
Other: He has an extreme phobia of dogs, and can go into a panic attack if one gets into his personal space.
Will can withstand electrical shocks far beyond 1,000 volts, but it is currently unknown how well he’d take a strike or several strikes of lightning.
He is a homosexual in self-denial.
His height is five foot five exactly.
He’s a compulsive drinker.
Though he’s had only a few years of formal training through a job, Will is extremely good with his hands and can easily tune up or repair cars, motorcycles, and various appliances.
