Feel the pull find the spot

[Maverick]

Maverick continued to tear into the meat as Kita joined in the feast. It had been a long time since he had gotten a kill this good and he was going to enjoy it. He looked around and saw the others enjoying it just as much as he was.

"Enjoy it you two. You deserve it."

Maverick was going to go hunting again tomorrow, not for another feast but this time for more humans. He had gained the taste for blood for the humans and wanted to kill more of them now. He wanted them off of his land and now.

[Caoimhe]

Finishing off the liver Caoimhe quickly locates and eats the kidneys before she finally feels her appetite satiated. She pads a few yards away from the carcass and lays downs on a carpet of pine needles, her tongue occasionally flicking out as she licks blood from her muzzle. *Life is good for now* she thinks to herself, her golden eyes half lidded as she watches Maverick and Kita *This almost feels perfect, like being home, like belonging somewhere* her thoughts continue.

[Koga]

Kita fed on the remaining muscle tissue of the bear and ate his fill. He licked the remaining blood from his muzzle, savoring the last remaining taste of bear. He stretched and sat on his haunches. It feels good to hunt my own food, Kita thought happily, Much better than being fed those nasty pellets by the humans.

"So, what do you guys want to do now?" Kita asked.

[Caoimhe]

Caoimhe's ears twitch then swivel in the direction of Kita when he speaks and her golden eyes open all the way. Her reply to the new male's question is simple.

"I haven't the slightest idea what to do since up til recently all I did was run, hunt, and sleep. This is Maverick's land and he's the Alpha so he knows best what there is to do and what may or may not be needed done."

[Maverick]

Maverick finished eating on the chest muscle and licked his muzzle as he turned and saw that Caoimhe and Kita had both also finished. Then Kita spoke asking what they wanted to do next. Maverick looked at them both as Caoimhe said she had no clue as what to do. Maverick sighed a little as he spoke.

"Well to be honest there isn't anything really fun to do around here. Mostly just hunt the humans if you count that as fun."

Maverick gave a quick smile which faded to a frown quickly as he remembered how all of his friends and pack mates were taken from him by the humans. Fun was a word that he had not thought about for a long time,but maybe with the arrival of these two that would change.

"Well its up to you two. We can either go hunting for humans or go out exploring the other lands."

[Koga]

Kita bit back his tongue at Caoimhe's comment and instead thought;

What was the point in saying that? That much was obvious.

He then looked at Maverick after his comment and couldn't help but smile at his concept of chasing humans for fun. He kind of liked that idea, since he still felt a bitter hatred for his captivity. However, he felt that their time was wiser spent exploring the lands.

"As much as I would like to chase humans," he said, "I think we should check out the rest of the lands, just so Caoimhe and I can get to know the area. And it would be good for us to get used to the area just in case we bite off more than we can chew with the humans and come after us."

[Caoimhe]

Caoimhe shows fang in regards to Kita, she senses his thoughts are not flattering to her after she spoke. She then listens as Maverick speaks, her demeanor towards him is of polite attentiveness. She ponders the options Maverick puts before them even as she listens to Kita speak his views. She finds she must agree that for now exploring is probably the best option although not for the same reasons so she voices her opinion giving Kita a dark condescending look towards the end
"I must agree that exploring is wise I want to know the lay of the land around here, but not because I'd ever bite off more than I can chew like others might. I know my limits."

[Koga]

"Because you're apparently so perfect."

Kita muttered this as he got up, intending to walk away. He wasn't sure if he would go back to the den or not. He didn't like Caoimhe's attitude and wanted to leave before he did something else that would get him killed. Kita speculated that Caoimhe might have the ability to read his mind and if that were true, he had to leave. He didn't want to leave the lands all together, but he didn't want to be around Caoimhe because he knew that he wouldn't be able to hold back forever, though he would always be sure that the female could kill him. He didn't know where to go, or if there was anywhere else to go. Kita knew enough by now that he would never gain the female's trust, let alone her respect and figured that she wouldn't let him stay long enough to gain Maverick's anyway.

He took a few steps away from the other two wolves.

[Maverick]

Maverick listened to the two quarrel a little bit and heard Kita's words towards Caoimhe. He lowered his head and spoke.

"Ok now no need for any kind of animosity here. If we can't keep our cool with our own kind in these calm situations then what will happen when stress really hits us."

Maverick turns and looks to the West towards the crystal forest.

"We will go exploring, you two are right you also need to know the lay of the land if we ever hope to catch a break with the humans.

[Caoimhe]

Caoimhe eyes Kita and once again shows fang but the moment Maverick speaks she turns her attention to him til he finished speaking. She knows Maverick's words to be wise ones and the question rhetorical but she replies anyhow.

"The weaklings will run off and tell the humans what we are doing is what will happen when the real stress hits us."

That said the wolfess shifts herself to her feet and gets ready to follow the Alpha on their exploring mission. She hasn't a clue how Kita will react but she suspects that he might find a reason to bow out of the mission.

[Koga]

Kita stayed behind for a few more moments to assess his situation. On one paw, he would have the companionship of an Alpha and would be able to gain valuable experience within a pack. On the other paw, however, he'd have to deal with Caoimhe, something that he really didn't want to do. He knew that she didn't want him around and suspected that she would leave him for dead at the first human attack. He shook his head.

Not even Caoimhe is that bitter.

He was irritated with Caoime's latest remark, feeling that she was again trying to belittle him, though it probably wasn't true.

Is she calling me weak or disloyal?

Kita sighed and began to follow the other wolves. He was just going to have to bite his tongue, shut out Caoimhe and pay attention to Maverick only.

[Maverick]

Maverick continued in the direction of the Crystal Forest. He could feel the tension between the other two growing by the minute. He wondered which would strike first if there was to be a fight,but he hoped there wasnt in the long run.

"The forest has had the second fewest human intruders and I have no idea to why that may be. There are plenty of resources that would benefit them but they havent even tried to get them. It is kind of worrysome."

[Caoimhe]

Caoimhe pads along after Maverick like a good pack member should, she's not even concerned that Kita is behind her she senses he'll behave himself to stay in Maverick's favor. Her eyes wander the trees and her nostrils flare as she takes in the scents of the surrounding forest as she moves but eventually her attention is brought back to the black Alpha in front of her when he speaks, she listens with interest to the information he provides before her ears lay back for a moment. The info about the humans behavior is indeed odd.

"Perhaps something you don't know about lurks in the forest, a guardian of sorts or maybe the humans have a bad feeling about it. I've been in forests that are absolutely gorgeous but they give off a real bad vibe to anyone who intrudes."

[Koga]

Kita sniffs the air all around to gain the scent of the territory and to find any malicious scents that would give the group of wolves trouble. He didn't find any. As he listened to Maverick's words and begrudgingly listened to Caoimhe's words, he felt a disturbing sense of calm around the forest. He noticed the distinct lack of chaotic and bloodshed scents around the forest which were so prevalent around the Iridescent Mountains. The area was calm. Too calm. And it disturbed Kita greatly. Though he suddenly had an idea.

"Maverick, I'm not catching any kind of scents that we should worry about. In fact, it's probably the distinct lack of scents that worries me the most. If what you say is true about the abundance of resources beneficial to humans, then there must be something keeping them out. However, I don't smell any kind of bloodshed around here like in the rest of the lands, which begs the question: could any of the wolves who took refuge here survive the massacre that took the rest of the lands?"

[Maverick]

Maverick listened to both of the wolves speak. They had valid points and Maverick nodded his head as he walked and spoke.

"Both of you have good points. There is no Scent to mark any danger here which is just as strange. There should at least be some sort of signs of some sort of predators in this area. And at the same time there could be a guardian here. The Bloodmoon Forest is a prime example of that. The old Alpha was supposedly killed there but no one knows for sure,but when a human enters there they don't last the night. And there is always signs of a beast that killed them. Leading me to believe that he is alive in there just electing to remain hidden. At least I can hope that is what it is."

Maverick thought back to when he first wandered into Rashkala. Tourniquet was the first Wolf he met. He showed him the lands just as he was doing Kita and Caoimhe. Deep down inside he hoped that he was still alive.
